From what I could tell, it just gives you some new customization options (or maybe it's the gold guns your guys start with). I had all sorts of crap, but I don't know which was preorder and which was Collector's Edition stuff.

The code from Amazon was for a couple of gearbox guns, neither of them as strong as what I found last night, a shield (same story) a character customization widget, and a golden key to open a golden chest for a chance at something really rare. That's it.

Same stuff I got from Gamestop, so it sounds like just a Gearbox preorder and not retailer-specific.

The difficulty of this game in 2-player co-op really is perfectly refined. A buddy and I have been doing couch co-op the past 2 nights, and it seems like we're CONSTANTLY at the edge of death. One of us is downed, the other resurrects, or we escape a big fight with a handful of bullets and about 20 health left.

Yet it never feels like we get stuck or overmatched. The balancing is absolutely flawless. We're constantly challenged, yet never hit a wall. We wade into an area thinking we're safe, dispatching some easy bad guys swiftly and efficiently, and suddenly a pair of huge badass monsters appear and start walloping us. I've been incredibly impressed with how expertly it manages difficulty vs. progression so far.

So far I've REALLY enjoyed playing this game solo, all the way through the 1st boss battle. (Flynt)

I understand that this is primarily a multi-player co-op, and the first game always felt as much, so I could never really get into it. It seems like they tightened 1p up in the sequel, so much so that if gameplay continues to 'feel' the same as it has so far, I can definitely see myself playing it and enjoying it all the way through solely 1p.

EDIT: Just read a couple of posts on GWJ that folks feel they moved the needle a little away from RPG and more towards FPS with the sequel, which seems right to me from what I recall of the first one. Probably why I like it more...I can do more FPS tricks to make up for the DPS I lack going solo.

Game isn't really my cup of tea. Anyone want my copy before I eBay the thing? 40 shipped in the US?

Very Mild Spoilers.....

Bah, I got hit with the 'Do No Harm' mission glitch, where I'm stuck and can't advance it.

Anyone playing this game just about to get to ( or REALLY early on in) Sanctuary who wouldn't mind me tagging along in co-op for literally the 5 minutes it would take to free me up?

It's really early on in the Dr Zed quest path.

I've got a few characters that are just to Sanctuary. I'd have no issue with it.

If you still need a jump start, keep an eye out for me. Didn't play all weekend due to a rigorous anti-sobriety regime and my game is saved just as I got off the ferry to Sanctuary.

Thanks Terry and Rob! :D :D

I'll be on around 11pm eastern tonight, so if any of you are on and playing, please send me an invite before you go visit Dr Zed in Sanctuary. (You can't miss his sign  )

I should be on some tonight, Spooky, if you are still looking for help.

I also could still use about 5 minutes of someone's time to help me with my Dr Zed glitch. As long as you didn't start that quest line, it won't take more than 5 min to fix. All in Sanctuary. No fighting or anything, just visiting two locations.

I'd love some help. I cannot predict my nighttime schedule right now but I will try to be online around 11pm EST.

And I can still help you, Web. I just hadn't seen you since you posted that--but I got caught up watching TV the past couple nights and went to bed fairly early for me, so I wasn't on the XBox as late as usual.

Big thanks for the assist last night TC. Really appreciate it! As I said last night, let me know if you can use an extra gun somewhere along the way. :D

This glitch is scheduled to be patched in the first title update, but if it happens to you, you get stalled on sidequests involving Dr Zed and/or Tannis, and so you can lose out on sources of extra missions.

To avoid: (Mild spoilers)

Early on after you first arrive at Sanctuary, you'll meet Dr Zed. If you decide to do a quest for him, you'll need to visit Tannis. *BEFORE YOU SPEAK TO TANNIS* make sure you walk around the location she is in to trigger her introductory cut scene. THEN you can speak to her to continue the quest.

Unfortunately, she is positioned somewhat near the entrance to her location, so you can speak to her before you reach the area in which the cut scene is triggered. If you do, you'll miss the cu tscene and glitch out the quest so you can't continue.

The only way to solve this until it is patched is to join someone else's game who hasn't completed that mission yet, and complete that task with them. That's what Terry did with me last night, and it works.

Glad I read the spoiler. Finally caught up a bit with the game and after beating Flint I am about to start the episode in Sanctuary. Now for those just ahead, is it worthy to do the quest or Dr Zed?

Any time, man :)

And funnily enough, I got stuck on Dr. Mercy immediately after that. Tried twice to down him but he seemed to regenerate health faster than I could kill him. So I gave up and went back to Football/Hockey

It's definitely worth talking to both Zed and Tannis, because you then open up the potential for a bunch of side missions through them, like the Doc Mercy one that Terry mentioned.

...Just make sure you see the Tannis cut scene!

Spooky, offer for help still stands. Or anyone else, for that matter. I don't really want to jump too far ahead of where I am in playing solo, but I'd happy to jump into someone else's game to help out with missions right around where I am, or earlier.

I've heard he is a particularly tricky encounter, despite how easy the quest is rated. I should be trying that one in the next day or two, after I do the Dam rescue story mission.

I've been so busy lately that I haven't touched this game since I got to like level 8 or 9 with my character. Would like to play more but am worried that I am too far behind to join games or find suitable co-op players...

Is that an issue?

Not at all. A lot play multiple characters. I have 2 around level 17 and 1 at level 8. And I'm sure some will be starting new with the Mechromancer.

I'm in the same boat. I'm not too worried though, as most people have multiple characters and even a higher level guy will often have a good time joining in the fun,.

First DLC leaked: 'Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty'

I could buy that on the title alone. I'll probably pick up the season pass, since I bought nearly all the DLC for the first game.

Pirate's Booty will be available on 10/16.

Last night I started playing the Mechromancer. The robot she unleashes is a killing machine. :D

I got her up to level 7. My Siren and Commando are around level 19. And I got a Gunzerker at 6. No Assassin... yet.
