This is my most anticipated game maybe ever but I am holding off until Christmas. I envy you guys but Christmas will be damn good this year. Enjoy tomorrow fellas.

Yeah, that's the plan. I have so much to play right now and work is going to be extremely busy until the second week of December with our annual meeting taking place the week after Thanksgiving. I will be working the day after Thanksgiving until Saturday the 3rd, most of that time in a hotel room in Chicago, so it shouldn't be too bad. If I make it from work to home today without Skyrim I will consider it a major victory.

Played an hour. The world is gorgeous.

My Gamestop was jammed for the launch. 5x the amount of people that I've ever seen there for a game.

Best part was some 10 yr old kid was there with his dad (there's no school tomorrow, obviously). This kid was positively vibrating from excitement and his dad was sweet and indulgent. The kid had worked extra chores for cash and the right to get it at midnight. They passed out letters based on when you checked in. I was "G" and the kid was "Z". He wasn't too disappointed, but he did say "26th?" when he got the letter. So I busted a Mean Joe Green on him and slid my ticket across the counter to where he was standing and traded him. Made my whole night.

Oh, and I've been part of some nerdy groups in my day, but this group made crowd at the midnight showing of "Fellowship of the Ring" look like p***y magnets. I swear if you'd dropped a girl into that room, 2/3 of them would have just evaporated.

Now that is a great thing Rob. But i think my favorite part of the story is a father who made his son do chores and earn his own money in order to be given a great opportunity. In this world of entitled children and parents who want to be more friend than parent, it's encouraging to know there are still parents out there like this guy.

I didn't feel like converting to 1080p and honestly I don't know if it makes a difference as these videos never do justice to what i am actually seeing. This is about 7 minutes of spliced Skyrim footage with hopefully most of the begging cool moments sliced out of it.

Right now I am exploring some ruined temple with some nasty traps. This world is so immersive it's scary.

The other issue is who the F lets their 13 year old ride his bike two miles each way at midnight to buy a game (an M rated one at that)?

I don't want to give spoilers away as much asd they can be in an open world like this but the big fight after meeting the Jarl at the watchtower is probably one of the most epic fights I have had in an rpg.

Right now I have so many quests my head is spinning. I got a little too confident with myself and hadn't saved in a while and got killed. Ugh.

This is the 2nd non-sale new game I have purchased this year and all I have to say after 4 hours of play is "WOW"!

Skyrim is unbelievable!

I am in an in at Riverwood and one of the options with an MPC was to ask him to sing a song. (2 song choices) I pick one, he pulls out his instrument and proceeds to play a song actually worth listening to. I sat there for a minute mesmerized.

I proceed to a location not to far off to clear some bandits out and retrieve an item for the shopkeeper in the same town. The cave turns into a huge dungeon with some terrific battles. Just one dungeon! The vistas in the game are insane. I have never felt so immersed in a world. After reading Inheritance the last two days, I feel I am caught in a world between Alegasia and Riverun from LOTR.

This is the first Elder Scrolls game where archery is as powerful as swords. Magic is well done. Everything is so polished and I cannot wait to explore the world and all of the quests.

Speaking of quests, instead of having to walk up to every random NPC looking for quests, all I have to do is listen to conversations in passing where NPC's speak of the troubles with other NPC's. I then step in and offer to help.

Well done Bethesda, this is the finest Western RPG I have ever played and everything I have ever imagined.

I was on my way to a bandit hideout and I heard a roar and saw a Dragon flying overhead. Being the brave hero I am, I ran and hid under a tree and then watched the dragon attack this hideout I was going to. The hideout emptied out with guys trying to kill him with no luck, at one point he took a bite into one, picked him up and toss him about side to side before sending him flying about 100 feet in the air.

The way the Dragon's move and fight in this game is unreal I have never seen anything like it in a video game before.

Played for a few hours today, and can definitely see the appeal. It's truly a epic RPG. However, I couldn't help but feel I was walking around aimlessly half the time wasting my time. I'm sure it's a tremendous game, but I simply don't have the want or desire to put in all the hours it'll take to appreciate it. I'd much rather throw in a movie or play a quick game of NHL or Fifa.

I guess sports and racing games are pretty much my go to video games nowadays.

By the way, the PS3 version looked pretty sweet, albeit for couple freezes here and there. More like little hiccups and the game would eventually catch back up.

RPG's aren't my thing, but I played Oblivion & liked it a lot. My thing is I get immediately overwhelmed just thinking about the amount of hours it will take to get anywhere close to finishing it. This one especially seems like you could play it for a year..

Pretty much this. My attention span just isn't that long, and, if I'm quite honest, the technical aspects of it weren't all that appealing to me. Yes the world is lovely, what little I've seen, but the janky animations of some of the NPC's (animals in particular) were just too jarring for me to find immersion. Plus...even with just a little bit of time, I got bored. You guys who love it, glad it suits you. Just doesn't me.
