Off the bat, I'm going to say the gameplay feels really tight on All Star sim. I'm seeing charges, more off the ball fouls, reach in fouls, offensive rebounding, balls being knocked around realistically, etc.. Everything feels very fluid and true-to-life.

First thing I noticed was smoother gameplay in general.

No doubt.

I played an exhibition (Celts vs Grizz), lost @ the buzzer on a fade-away from Z-Bo.

Then went ahead and played (and beat) Jordan, Hakeem and Larry Bird's challenges.

Tried like 4 times, but wasn't able to beat the Oscar Robertson's challenge (Bucks vs Lakers). The Logo is a machine.

BTW, the old school 60's tv colors and in-game overlays are a great touch. Props to VC.

All of this was in All-Star, without tweaking coaching preferences (never forced double teams on any particular player, change matchups, etc etc) nor sliders.

The new d-pad menus took me a bit to get used to, but I'm getting there.

Don't understand why the mapped the camera views to the up button. Totally unnecessary,

Can't wait to play some more tonight.

How do you guys move a player who doesn't have the ball? The manual says press L1 for the icons to appear, select an icon, then move that player with the R stick. But every time I do that the player with the ball shoots, because the R stick is the shot stick. What am I doing wrong?

Any of you guys currently playing this or has the lockout killed interest in this title?

Still playing it.

All start level, no tweaks.

Currently w Celtics in Conf semis vs Bulls (2-2).

Btw, Bulls are f***in frustrating to play against. Incredibly tough to score against, athletic and fast team and D. Rose is silly good.

It's s great game. Still enjoying it, although I have to admit that no NBA has tempered my excitement towards the game slightly. Miss NBA Today.

I haven't played this game in a few weeks. I definitely think the lack of an NBA season has killed my excitement for the game. Maybe that will change now that
college basketball is under way. I'm sure I'll be needing my basketball fix, however the lack of rookies is a disappointment.

got this at Best Buy for $35. Is there a wait for the inclusion of the rookies until they appear in a game?

I wouldn't expect anything until after the first week or so of games...until each player has played, because then the NBA Today feature will kick in an update rosters. Plus, you've still got two weeks until free agency so it's gonna get pretty crazy.

Im getting better at the game...not that I'm any good but it's a work in progress.

Any tips on playing D? I've been getting better but still could use some advice from the veterans.

Again, tremendous effort from 2k. With no pressure from a competitor the game is a classic.

Is it $35 now or was that a BF deal?

I skipped last year's game but could not hold off 2k12 when Amazon made a price mistake for a couple hours at 19.99. I used to play the crap out of NBA 2K games so I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of progress has been made with the series.

Damn, dude! Why didn't you launch a signal flare at DSP about this deal?

Nice grab. :)

The lowest price I have currently found for NBA2K12 is $39.99 at Amazon and Walmart:

http://www.amazon.com/NBA-2K12-Covers-V ... B002I0JK38

http://www.walmart.com/ip/NBA-2K12-Xbox ... 0/16793187

Also, the Legends Showcase DLC is now available in the Xbox Live Marketplace. This seems pretty cool, I like the different artistic style they are using.

http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Produ ... 603e6735f5
Enhance your NBA 2K12 experience with the all-new “Legends Showcase” add-on content pack. Legends Showcase delivers hours of additional gameplay, allowing users to END THE DEBATE as to who is the best player ever. Set in an stylized version of Times Square, Legends Showcase allows players to select from over 150 legends to compete in 2v2 and 3v3 Challenges, H-O-R-S-E, Pick-Up games, and more.
Here is an entire article with one of the developers that goes into detail about all the new features of the DLC.

http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_i ... 6275802267
It’s also important to note that, while the Legends Showcase takes place in more of a street environment in Times Square, it’s still a simulation at heart. While we captured some fancier passes, dribble moves, and dunks to make the Legends stand out and differentiate the gameplay, it’s all still grounded in reality. Think of it as a sort of a street simulation. We even made sure to spend a significant amount of time honing the AI for this type of game. We want 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 games to feel special not just because of the Legends involved, but also because the game is being played the way you’d expect it to be.

And finally, don’t forget that with the Legends Showcase, you will open up a new option in the Online portion of the main game called Classic Quick Match. This gives you a chance to play online with all of the NBA’s Greatest teams in a standard simulation setting. This is completely outside of the Times Square, cell-shaded DLC environment and with only these all-time teams to choose from, it will hopefully help maintain an even playing field. Additionally, you’ll also now have full roster control over all those NBA’s Greatest teams, so if you want to bring them into Association mode, or edit, trade, and release players, you can do all that too.

With the debate about the greatest team of all-time hopefully being settled with NBA’s Greatest, one of the coolest elements about the Legends Showcase DLC is that it gives you the opportunity to answer a few more of those burning questions. Who is the greatest individual player of all-time? Who is the greatest teammate duo of all-time? Which era is the best of all-time? Who is the greatest trick shot artist of all-time? To put it simply, our main goal with Legends Showcase was to create an entirely new experience centered on the Legends. We feel like there’s a ton of content here that can be appreciated, whether you’re a hardcore basketball historian or just a casual fan.

Before I finish this up, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention one other key piece of the Legends Showcase: Where do YOU fit in against the greatest NBA players of all-time? That’s right, you can import your My Player (as Ronnie2K has done here) and see if you can compete with the best of the best. Want to find out if you can take MJ 1-on-1? How about teaming up with Bird and McHale to see if you can take out an Isiah Thomas-Joe Dumars-Bill Laimbeer or Magic Johnson-James Worthy-Kareem Abdul-Jabbar trio? Or what about trying your hand against Pete Maravich in H-O-R-S-E? Any match-up you can think of with almost all of the significant players in NBA history is right there at your fingertips.

I could keep going on about some of my other favorite things to try (Shaq vs. Mikan, Thompson vs. Gervin, Wilt vs. Russell, Chris Paul vs. Isiah, to name a few more – sorry, I couldn’t resist), but it’s probably about time I wrapped this up and left the rest of the fantasy scenarios to everyone else. Keep an eye out for the Legends Showcase on the PSN Store this week – it’ll be available on 11/29. — Ben Bishop

Rookies can't appear until they sign contracts, and none were signed prior to the lockout under the old CBA. Once a new CBA is ratified and the rookies become members of the reconstituted NBAPA, then their likeness rights will fall under the contract 2K has with the NBA & NBAPA.

I still have last years and am pretty happy with it, so what does this year's version do that's better than last year other than the Legends stuff?
