Can you say if they kept the dynamic ratings (I hope so) and if they improved on them at all?

Huh?
I think he means if the game comes out before Wii Motion+ the swing mechanic will be the same as last year until Motion+ actually hits the streets.

At this point, I am not completely sure, but as soon as I am released from NDA, I hope to be able to answer your question properly. My thinking is "yes", but club distances have been scaled back to normal levels for TW10.

I believe it will be much improved over TW09 even without the Plus, but I am no expert on the Wii version of the game.

My guess based upon past NDA's is usually a month or so before the product ships or as soon as it is RTM'd.

Any announcement on new courses?

I hope they make Tour difficulty harder. It was impossible to putt last year but that was because of the game, outside of that it wasn't hard to hit 14//14 fairways and all 18 greens.

The designers need to learn that a everything isn't down the middle or horrible. Sometimes you can hit a good shot that fades or draws into the rough. This has to be the next evolution of Tiger on Tour mode. Otherwise it's still the same crappy Tiger.

They really need to make hitting the fairway harder but not make offline shots terrible just slightly off in the first cut of rough or something.

And if it is, will it have all of the features that the console versions have?

I still play the '06 PC version. While I really enjoy that, it is about time I upgrade.
Yes, it is coming for the PC, but it will be coming out much later than the console versions. EA has completely rebuilt the PC version and as such it wil take them longer to get it out. Not sure at this point about features, but it will be very different in many respects than what you are accustomed to as far as the PC version is concerned.
Care to explain that? Is it leaning towards arcade or simulation?

Not yet, but I was very impressed with what I saw.....and to kill any suspense, Augusta is not in TW10....AN has no interest in licensing the course to anyone.

No, I can't. Try not to read anything into it at this point, but I CAN say they are not leaning towards arcade at all. The PC is leaning more towards simulation from the limited time I saw the game.

Lots of good stuff in there.
Bethpage-Black is the site of this year’s Open, so the course and the officially licensed event will be featured in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10. We’re taking this one step further in-game by creating U.S. Open style course conditions to help recreate one of the most challenging environments in all of golf. Rough will be thicker, greens will be faster and fairways will be harder in order to more accurately recreate the feel of the U.S. Open Championship.
Very cool. Ideally we will be able to choose to play Bethpage at US Open and non-US Open settings, but that is a minor quibble.
Per hole stats will fill you in on how the field is performing at each hole. During the fly-by you’ll see the number of par’s, birdies, eagles and more that have been shot on that hole. Just like in tournament golf, these stats will be reset per round of the tournament, so you can see how the same holes are playing based on that day’s course conditions.

Real-time scoring updates will keep you updated on the field’s progress during your rounds. These scoring updates will trigger while you play holes and the AI golfers move up along the leaderboard or make great shots. As you hear the distant roar of the crowd an update banner will appear at the top of the screen to alert you on the movers and shakers.
Very nice. Learning to dread a distant roar of the crowd when battling for the lead is very cool.

From today's blog:
New! - Precision Putter
In Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 we have created a new putting mechanic which is based on the idea of carrying a single-distance putter in your bag. So what in the world does this mean? Well, this new system will allow for an alternative to our classic putting mechanic, which allowed you to toggle through a variety of max distances. This new putter will always maintain a single max distance, so it will be up to you to dial in the appropriate power and putting line on each shot. A new on-screen Precision Putting Meter will help you during your backswing and follow-through to find the correct stroke…unless you are hardcore and turn the meter off!

This putting mechanic has been an ask from you, the community, for some time now and we’re excited to be including it in this year’s game.
This was a feature I asked for specifically during the TW Community Day event. They called it "Tim Mode" for the hardcore user (my name is Tim). A week later, I got an email from the Producer who said they enabled users to turn it on or off and that it worked great. I was thrilled to hear about this as well as other feedback we asked for making it in the game. (Can't talk about those feature requests just yet...not til NDA is released).

Something tells me Divot will be the first to turn it off and I bet it will be an achievement in the game. :D

One of the reasons I like the PC mode as someone(can't remember his name right now) does a great Augusta rendition that you can download.

Also, I like using the mouse to swing as opposed to the stick or button pushing.

Ken "I have no clue how many times this guy has made Augusta for a golf game" McHale

I remember downloading his Augusta masterpiece back in the old Jack Nicklaus Golf days.

Club tuner mode? This was an excellent edition to the game. It was basically sliders for a golf game.

I assure you that you could make changes that would make your "sweet spot" low enough to provide you with plenty of time in the rough, bunkers, etc. It was not perfect, by any means but it was a good start.

When I see the comments like "same crappy tiger" and "hit every fairway and green" it makes me wonder if you even touched this mode or kept your "sweetpot" at 50% or greater. In turn meaning that you just missed out on a pretty good game, because you failed to utilize tools that were available to you.

Probably not at first. I will likely use the meter to guage the putter head distance to achieve desired ranges, then turn it off once I am comfortable with the putting stroke.

You are going to love what EA has shared with me regarding the PC version then....wish I could say more, but when I can, I expect this thread to light up like a Christmas tree.....

Club Tuner makes a return and there are some neat practice features for it that I think users will like. Plus club distances have been toned back down to realistic levels thankfully.....

Yeah, the last time I hit 168 yards with a 7 iron playing my own character I said to myself, why can't I do that in real life.

First off, you have no idea how I played the game.

I don't remember the settings but I set accuracy to 0 or minimum it would allow for a certain level. The only thing I played around with was distance because those were crap. I think I had my sweetspot at 0. But the problems was that shots were either perfect of shanks. There wasn't enough "grey area". Perfect straight shots should be rare and slight but straight mishits should be more common with just a little 5 yard draw or something.

Don't f'n lecture me on how to play games if you have no idea how I even set up the game.

In Links I only missed with Distance. In almost every golf game, I try to leave everything alone except for distance which I try to find a realistic balance.
