Depends on who you ask. I played FIFA 09 but sold it to preorder Pro Evo 2009.

Holy crap, nice goal! The authorities might want to drop by for a urine sample though - it looked from that ange like he side footed it! 8O

Best wishes,

Doug
LOL Thanks. That's because I did side-foot it. I always shoot with finesse...even from out there. Otherwise it's free soccer balls for the supporters behind the goal :)

I'm kind of going the other way. I've got Pro Evo on preorder, but I'm thinking of canceling it, as I don't see myself playing it very much.

I've been playing this game on world class and have finally started winning consistently with Liverpool (though I did drop a wild 4-3 decision to Everton in my last game). Bloody Yakubu caused my defenders fits and Reina boneheadedly misplayed a bad at the edge of the box resulting in an open net goal.

I'd been having a heck of a time scoring and didn't seem to be able to stop the computer AI from spraying my goal with shots. Even weak teams like Hull and Stoke were giving me fits in previous seasons and I was languishing near the bottom of the table. I decided to start over and see whether I could put my superior team and individual skill to wrok.

By changing my strategy to pressure the other team I've been able to control the midfield much more effectively. Prior to that I found that even the weaker teams were getting far too much time and space to launch attacks. By pressuring the opposing team farther up the field I've been able to force bad passes and turnovers - and I haven't found my team getting worn out playing this way. The other change was to go to fully assisted shooting - I was hopeless at shooting and was missing chances that wouldn't be missed in real life.

I'm still having a blast with the game. I think I prefer playing with the whole team rather than BAP mode. There seems to be something a little odd with the ball physics in BAP mode that doesn't seem to be apparent in regular mode. The ball sometimes looks like it skids ahead to the keeper and stops bouncing more quickly.

Best wishes,

Doug

FIFA 09 equals MVP 05 for me. It's classically good!

Not only is it a great game, but you have the crazy-ass multi-cultural name generator for scouted players in Manager Mode.

I have a Brazilian striker named Nicholas Konstatopolous and a Korean defender named Jose Torres!! :)

Thanks,

It's better PK but not as good as the console versions. It runs like crap on my gaming rig.
Thanks. Same experience here with the PC version. I switched the affinity level so both cores are in use, reduced shadows, etc., and this game still stutters and is a bit blurry in motion on my humble machine. Hurts my eyes to play it.

Too bad, as the PC version is VASTLY improved. I think its gameplay is quite on the level of PES 2009, which runs whipped-cream smooth on my machine.

Take care,
PK
