Yeah, JRod, I really didn't mean any offense. I was just curious because you said you were burned out on console gaming. I found that surprising because I think the last few months have been fantastic for the hobby. So I was wondering what the last console game was that you thought was really great.
Or maybe I misunderstood, and you're burned out because you played them too much?
And I agree with Jared's statement about the sports/non-sports split. The non-sports side has made impressive leaps this year, while sports gaming to me seems stagnant, focused on bells and whistles instead of AI or gameplay advances. NBA 2k8 is the first sports game since MVP 2005 that's held my attention for more than a few weeks.
I will admit I'm looking forward to MLB 2k8. I thought 2k7 was a good game after they patched it, and if I hadn't been so busy with moving at that time, I would have played it more.
Whatcha playin now?!? -08 Edition-

I took it the wrong way, I apologize.
I liked COD 4 but kept getting DDEs. Same with FIFA 08. So I might literally have 360 burn out. I couldn't go more than a few days before DDE's popped up. I'm on my 4th 360.
I tried to get into College Hoops but couldn't.
I'm essentially a sports gamer. I don't have the same affinity for shooting or FPS games as some do here. I have played GH and RB (at friends) but I know I'll only play them on medium, beat them once and say that it's I don't really want to play it again. I can't justify spending 160 on RB and another 75 or so on GH.
For me, I like the feeling of the anything can happen sports universe, so maybe that's why I like Football Manager so much. I'll get back into the swing if MLB 2k8 is any good. But more than likely, my interest will get back up around football time.
