Some very curious ratings to say the least
The more I see of this, the more inclined to see how it plays out before buying this title.

2 inning video of Baltimore and Detroit. The video is just over 12 minutes long, but for whatever reason, it stalled on me right at 5:42.

I may be wrong...but it seems to me like you never actually see the swing finish and the bat actually make contact with the ball. Thus, I dont know if the ball is going where it should based on contact. Does that make sense? Anyone else see that? The contact is what bothered me about the game last year as well.

I think the highest we got on the 'balls' count was 1, though the 'player' was swinging at everything. We did get to see a triple, though.
I didn't see anything in the video to indicate that the new way of pitching led to more balls outside the zone for user-issued walks either.
Not that I really expect to see much of this in a two-inning demo, mind, but it would be nice to be pleasantly surprised by such once in my lifetime.

Game looks much more polished as far as gameplay goes.. I could care less about walks, but that's just me. I want a fast paced game, with a high fun factor.webdanzer wrote:I think the highest we got on the 'balls' count was 1, though the 'player' was swinging at everything. In the minor league video, it appears the pitcher misses his spots sometimes.... I know you have to account for the break, but this is on fastballs.
Sooo, I'm hoping if you're "a little bit off" the pitch will be "a little bit of a ball".
Be even better if the sliders impact this even more.
For me 2k8 will be fresh as it's my first baseball experience on console!

It's true as some of the newer games are requiring insane amounts of disk space. Devil May Cry 4 uses around 5GB maybe more of disk space. I wouldn't worry about disk space because you can always easily upgrade the hard drive. Plus the 20GB model has full PS1 and PS2 backward compatibility .Inuyasha wrote:Ok this sounded like bs but is it true?
Someone told me that not to buy the 20gb hd ps3 because for ps3, when you buy a game, it writes to the harddrive to play it?
True?
Thanks for posting the vid man
no problem guys, I'm a 2k junky, so I like to spread the word about this game.Yes, thanks for posting the video...I had just about written this game off, but I think I'll give it a try.
I've been playing the show for the last couple of weeks and I will admit I'm biased, and have played close to 300 games of 2k7, and MLB 07 plays ok, it just seems like all of the players are the T-1000 version of the terminator. Robotic and perfect. No texture to the uniforms, grass, or stadium. the throws don't appear to have any arc. while there are bad throws, they seem almost scripted, with no regards to the position of the fielder throwing the ball or the situation the fielder was in. Any other gameplay issues I have with it I'll chalk it up to unfamiliarity with the controls in regards to fielding pitching and baserunning.
I'm aware that I'm biased towards 2k7 and my impression of the Show won't hold much merit.
