I'd say it's pretty standard these days.fanatic wrote:I'm not sure if this is standard in a lot of non-sports games or not, but I love how you can boot up the game and choose a particular chapter to jump in and play. To me, this gives what is a relatively short game, a bit more longevity.

That's good to know...LAking wrote:I'd say it's pretty standard these days.fanatic wrote:I'm not sure if this is standard in a lot of non-sports games or not, but I love how you can boot up the game and choose a particular chapter to jump in and play. Shows you how often I play games like these.

Tim Schafer digs the game's sense of fashion:

At some point I would like to discuss the end of this game. I don't want to ruin it for people though, but the way it played out mechanically seemed so opposed to the rest of the game that I just found it odd.
It didn't ruin the experience for me this has been the most enjoyable game I have played in years, hell I finished it twice already. The last time I played a game twice was Baldurs Gate 2.

The ending was vry good what left me cratching my head was the way you beat the "last boss".
I'm on my 2nd run at it, this time on Hard.

Finished the game last night - absolutely loved it, definitely one of my favorite games of 2007 (even though I played it in 2008). Fantastic graphics (easily one of the best looking games I've seen), great gameplay and a neat story. I really like the Nathan Drake character - hope we see some sequels.
Kudos to the developers for some stellar extras as well - even better than God of War, they've got several documentaries and tons of concept art. I wish more developers would include this stuff.

I'm at the 87% mark after 8 hours of play...so I imagine I'll finish it tonight or tomorrow. That makes three games in the last 4 months that I've finished (Bioshock, COD4 and Uncharted). That total is 3 more than I had previously done in the 10 years prior. It's a damn good time for action/adventure/fps games.
Indeed! 2007 may be the best year for gaming yet. So many amazing titles and it doesn't look like it's going to slow down much in 2008 either.dbdynsty25 wrote:I'm at the 87% mark after 8 hours of play...so I imagine I'll finish it tonight or tomorrow. I got Uncharted from GF and started playing it last night. Some of the visuals are superb. The cut scenes really amp up the graphics. I'm not sure if it's quite as good as Crysis' in game graphics but it's close. The foliage isn't as dense or realistic looking.
It's fun so far but combat is a little bland and repetitive. It's gonna be hard dividing my time between this and crysis

I no longer trade in games for that reason. I still have PS2 games going back to 2001 that I still play. Right now I started playing again the first Ratchet and Clank.jLp vAkEr0 wrote:Ridiculous.
I traded in Uncharted a week ago after finishing it on Normal and Hard. I thought I had enough of it. Now I wake up with the urge to start it again on the hardest level.
I have NEVER felt this with a non-port game. Ever. It is that good and more importantly, fun.
Incredible.

I finished the game last week. I enjoyed it, however I didn't like where the story and game play went at a certain point toward the end. I won't give away any spoilers but at a certain point the game changes it's tone as a new "element" is introduced. It was such a video game cliche. For a little while it felt like a completely different genre. To make matters worse, i've never been a fan of that kind of genre.
Still, overall it was a fun game.

I guess I would prefer 10 hours with a 10 over 40 with the gf/8....is that what ya mean?PRBoom wrote:For me it's all about quality, not quantity.
Uncharted would be my non sports game of the year. I know everyone is all gaga over Bioshock, and it's a great game, but give me Drake over it every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Cause cmon 10 hours is a joke....

The ebay value of Uncharted really took a hit after Christmas, but now it's stabilized. You could buy it (on ebay), play it, and sell it and be out very little money. I'd hardly buy *any* game if it cost me $59.99. I bought Uncharted at Costco and sold on ebay and even though my timing on the sell was terrible I still was out only $20...the best $2/hr on entertainment I've ever spent.XXXIV wrote:I keep looking to rent it but its always out...cant buy it at 59 for 10 hours...

Just traded my copy in today with several other games so I could get a Cobalt DS.
I played through the game twice and was thinking of doing it a 3rd time. One of the best games I have played.

I totally agree man...the first 75% was way better than the last 25%. Still a great game and I was motivated to finish it, but it lost some of the magic.LAking wrote:I finished the game last week.
