Jeff Weaver pitched a gem for the Cards. Man, the Cards bullpen has been unbelieveable these first two games. Way to shut out the Pads' 2-0. Jason who? Wow, Adam Wainwright has to be brimming with confidence.
I do wonder how fair though the shadows are when you play the playoff games during the day. Seeing that the majority of games are played during the night time, it really puts the hitters at a disadvantage.
Back to St. Louis with Suppan taking the hill.
Oooh, and Pujols picked up three more hits today, including the decisive game winner. Yep, Ryan Howard's the MVP.
Just got back from the Mets game. Never been to playoff game before. Freaking awesome. Glavine looked great, nice job Julio Franco beating out that double play, and the "Jose, Jose Jose Jose..." soccer chant is my new favorite thing ever. Good times.
If the Yankees want to prolong the series, A. Rodriguez has to step up, his numbers are dismal in playoffs action and I am not talking about his current 1 for 11, last year's was as poor.
Yeah...one over priced, overrated team from New York down...one to go.
ARod played pretty well too. 1 hit in what, 14 at bats. He'll be on the next train out of New York...if someone wants to take on part of that ridiculous contract.

Precisely why he should come play for the Cubs. He wouldn't have to worry about his postseason numbers.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.
Ran across this (see below) at another site and found it funny. Probably NSFW. For the record, I'm not a Yankee hater...I just found it funny. http://yankees.justgotowned.com/

Well so far so good for the other NY team. So far...
As for ARod, it'll be tough to trade him.

Don't be so sure. The Rangers agreed to pay $67mil of his salary when they traded him to the Yankees, so if NY kicks in some cash as well, he's easily down to market value. Maybe the Yankees want Torii Hunter...
Great pitching performance by Bonderman today in his first playoff start.

Should be a very interesting ALCS.
Doesn't he have a no-trade clause ? I can't see him hankering for a move to Minnesota, nor him fitting into their overall small market strategy.
"The players come from all over the world, the money from deep underneath the Persian Gulf, but, as another, older City poster campaign put it, this is their city. They may now exist in the global spotlight, but they intend to keep it that way."
Looks like Torre is on the way out to be replaced by Pinnela? Come on now. If that's not a cop out, I don't know what is. What does an AL manager really do anyways?
sportdan30 wrote:Well pitched game by the Padres, Chris Young. If the Cards can close it out tomorrow with Carpenter on the mound, I'm definitely very worried.
I'm not worried. The Cardinals have owned the Padres in post season play and with Carpenter on the mound, it's almost a sure thing.
What concerns me is that now Carpenter won't be available until like the 3rd or 4th game of the NLCS. I would have like to have seen it work out so he could get two starts during the series.
The Mets lineup is tough. Not a weak spot at all. I don't know if the Cardinals pitching can handle that lineup...they didn't do too well during the regular season, but we can hope.
