Tell her that if she shows her entire rack on the show, I'll return and help her failing Nielsen ratings. :)
Slumberland wrote:Did you know she used to be heavy? Sometimes you can spot her doing background work on old episodes of SNL... she looks like a different person.
I did not. But something tells me she's going to have a lot more time for Jenny Craig maintenance plans in the near future if "30 Rock" continues to be as dull as the pilot.

Take care,

I thought it started slow, but picked up steam over the course of the episode...not easy in 22 minute sitcom. I never really liked Morgan on SNL, but I think that his character was sufficiently unhinged as to be funny and interesting. I was also impressed at the latitude given my NBC with respect to the oven guy being put in charge of programing etc.

I'd say it was a solid 6.5 - 7 out of 10.

Right here, in HD, and you sure can't beat the price:

http://btjunkie.org/torrent?do=stat&id= ... 1546207922

:)

As for a "legitimate" source, maybe NBC.com.

How does this work PK? Just download the file and watch it? Sorry, I'm a noob at torrents.

Diablo:

First, you need torrent software. That "grabs" the file(s). You also should have some sort of IP blocking or masking software, since downloading torrents of copyrighted stuff like music, TV and movies is illegal.

Then you can watch it with a video player such as Windows Media Player (with codecs), QuickTime or VLC.

PM me if you want specifics, as I'm not sure if open discussion of file sharing violates this forum's terms of service.

Funny parody of "Studio 60" at The Onion:

http://www.theonion.com/content/node/54 ... _rss_daily

What's even funnier is that there's a hell of a lot of truth in the parody.

Finally caught Monday night's Studio 60. I kept waiting for the moment when the show would 'jump the shark', so to speak, but it never really came. I enjoyed it, though it was sort of a light episode. Can a show really 'jump the shark' in five episodes? Isn't that just a show being bad? Whatever... I don't like that phrase, and am removing it from my lexicon with a laser precision-aimed at my brain... wait... there it is... gone.

The main problem continues to be (for me) that the sketches just suck. Matt and Danny's "brilliance" seems to entail talk shows hosted by unlikely celebrities... and yet everyone in their fictional TV universe is lapping it up. And yet I still like the show. This week was the first glimpse I got of any real chemistry between Matt and Harriet.

Yeah, you're right. I just think "Studio 60" is a vehicle for Sorkin to flex his snappy dialogue muscles about a very boring subject with very bland characters, hence the end of my desire to watch this show. I'm glad you like it, though.

"Friday Night Lights" on the other hand ... That show just continues to blow me away with its strong characterization, cinematography and drama.

I can see where people from urban areas or those who aren't interested in the dynamic between sports, small-town living, the effect of religion on small-town living, and the clash of youth and adult culture would find "Lights" trite or boring. But as someone who grew up in small-town America and still lives there, "Lights" really resonates with me.

Take care,
PK

What's your e-mail address? The PM's are acting wonky, as usual, for me, with some messages sitting in my Outbox for days and not sending. I want to send you those BitTorrent instructions.

Thanks,

The only thing that irritates me about Friday Night Lights is the fact that all of the actors and actresses are over 20-25 years old. The new guy they brought in from Louisiana is about 35...geeze. Otherwise you're right PK...that is one good show even though the footage and gameplay on the field is cheesy as hell.

If you're a FNL fan you may want to get your fill fast, I hear the ratings aren't very good at all. It's not a good sign when you're not even 6 episodes in and you running a marathon for people to catch up, that means they are hoping the positive press will increase the viewers.

I will do my part by not watching the show, because if i did it would gurantee it's cancelation :)

I caught an episode of it last night. I may not be too qualified to judge it since I have not been watching from the beginning but I didn't think it was that great. It was ok. I'll try to find some time to watch the older episodes off of nbc.com.

If they cancel it, I hope they find another way to get Minka Kelly (who plays Lyla Garrity) on tv again. Damn that girl is cute.

Yep, when I first saw that Katrina kid on the show last night, it reminded me of when I met Greg Oden last May at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Our department has a program where we bring out prominent Indiana citizens to wave the green flag for practice days, and Oden was the main man one day.

Besides being huge, I thought to myself when I shook Oden's hand and met him: "This kid is a senior in high school? He looks like he's 28, not 18!"

My top 2 new shows of the season are Jericho and The Nine. Hopefully both shows stick. Heroes is okay but it doesn't blow me away. That cheerleader is awfully hot though.

Just an FYI...some of us have been raving about the new NBC show Heroes - Tonight (Sun.), starting at 8pm, they are running the last 3 episodes, then the latest episode tomorrow night. Give it a watch if you are interested in a good new show.

I'm watching the first 20 minutes of the latest Heroes, and my goodness, this is what serial television is supposed to be.

That episode was so brilliant. I actually watched it again from the beginning immediately, as I was sure that I missed stuff.

Finally got to it last night and wow. Found my mouth agape multiple times, particularly when:

SPOILER FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T WATCHED YET:

the guy told the cheerleader that he wasn't going to erase her memory.... "Can you keep a secret." Great line. Question though, where does this put him in the heirarchy of Heroes, i wonder, that he feels he can make this call on his own. Interesting.

A stupid question too, I have to imagine that Sylar couldn't reach through the glass to grab the leader because his powers are useless against him but not against the girl, am i correct about that?

More spoiler talk to follow:

There is much discussion about your second point. Some hypothesize that he couldn't reach HRG because the Haitian was in the area nullifying his powers. When Eden went to see him, the Haitian was with Claire.

The other fascinating question is whether it was really Peter who will set off the nuclear detonation or whether he was empathizing with someone else...either nuclear guy or Sylar (who has in the interim assumed nuke boy's powers).

One scenario I've seen is that Linderman is behind HRG efforts to wipe the memories of the heroes. He will leverage his blackmail material to get Nathan to help and when Peter finds out he "goes nuclear."

That doesn't account for the dinosaur, of course

"I need to get that sword." :)

BTW the only other new show I really dig is 30 Rock. Absolutely hilarious, and Baldwin continues to amaze. Fey is improving as well. Heck, the whole cast is good! Very funny stuff.
