Bode Miller Alpine skiing

If you guys want to get started, go ahead. Start a career with a fresh, new Bodie Miller and run the 1st 3 events in the Junior League. You can practice each course a few times (in Practice mode) before you do it for real in Career mode. Post your times here and we will keep a ranking of the 4 of us. Use whatever coach and waxing you want and build your player's abilities as you go. I'll keep track of the times and ranking for everyone.

tell me about it.. i always manage to lose it on the first cut right after the start..bkrich83 wrote:Good Luck!!hulkster29 wrote:i'll do events 2 & 3 when i get home tonight from work...
For me at least, that Super G track at Beaver Creek is a biatch. I spent about an hour in the practice mode last night, just so I could navigate it without taking a digger every 10 feet.
SR2006 is also an awesome game. I really like both skiing games. Did you start a season yet?dbdynsty25 wrote:Holy crap Ski Racing 2006 is badass. I never thought a skiing game would be that cool but it freakin' is. You guys need to run a series in that one when you're done with the Bodie season...I freakin' love it.

Nope...just been playing random races...I seriously cannot believe this game is THIS good. I have played a few skiing games in the past and they have all been complete garbage so I never bothered to try any of the newer ones. This one is definitely legit. The slalom is even pretty damn cool...I never thought I would have control of a skier so that I can navigate a course like that with semi-realistic physics. I'm just blow away. I just finished playing like 2 hours in a row. It's definitely addictive and you just want to beat your last score. Awesome game...thanks for the recommendation.bkrich83 wrote:SR2006 is also an awesome game. I really like both skiing games. Oh yeah, and I especially like that it supports the 1920x1200 resolution...a definite bonus.

BTW guys...there is a Patch for the PC version of Ski Racing 2006...located here:

I think 3 rounds per week is a good guideline.
As soon as all scores form the 1st 3 rounds are
in we can more on to rounds 4-6.

Thanks!
I'm with you. As good as SR2006 is, I think Bodie is better. It has commentary, options for coaching, waxing, etc and the graphics are prettier and it even has lit up night runs. The control is smooth once you get the hang of it. SR06 is easier to get down the mountain in one piece, but harder to place high in the standings. Bodie is harder to get down without crashing but easier to place higher in the standings. These games have such a fresh feel to them because this type of game has never been done this realisticly before and all the different skiing disciplines give you a lot of variety.

Wengen DH - 2:13:90 74% start
Beaver Creek SG - 1:24:84 98% start
Adelboden GS:
Run # 1 1:03:44 76% start
Run # 2 1:04:03 83% start
combined 2:07:47
I LOVE that Beaver Creek course! SG is my favorite event anyway, but there are two sections of that course I just love. The first 5-6 gates are pretty sweet. If I'm able to hit that early cut left well, I know the first part of the run will be fast. Then later on there's a narrow 'fence-dodging' section that demands a good amount of precision or else you're eating net. I'm sure you guys know where it is. Jack, this is also a course where I get good results doing a high, long jump. It's about halfway through the course where you are going to catch air anyway. I seem to cut seconds by making that jump longer.
By the way, for the next round I'd rather you not post the times until all the times are in. I'm fairly sure I didn't alter my approach any ( I did 4 practice runs before the DH and SG and 2 before the GS), but I didn't like that fact that I technically knew what I needed before I started.
I think we should keep the times secret, or if we reveal them, use some sort of order to determine who reveals first. Maybe current leader posts first? (Or last?)
Anyway, I'm having lots of fun with this, and I know it will continue. Thanks, guys!!
