Ok, is downloading demos and arcade games always this slow? I have downloaded a few arcade games and for a file that is only 22mb in size it seems to take 20 minutes to download. On my PC it would take about 1-2 minutes to download a file that size. How long are you guys taking to download a demo like NFS or Kameo that is around 800-900mb?
Oh, I love bankshot billiards. Its a blast! Reminds me of yahoo pool which I am sure they were trying to model, but with more modes.

The only problems I have with the downloads is that I get timed out of them after 10-15 minutes. Don't know if it's because I don't have a screen saver set up or what. I then have to go back in and pick up where I left off. I do get worried sometimes about burn in when downloading, but I guess I needn't worry about an LCD?Diablo25 wrote:My downloads are moderately slow but not bad at all. Demos seem to take longer than I expected but not by much. Overall, I really like the performance of the "Marketplace".
That Condemed demo by the way was fantastic. What visuals! Entertaining game, but just not my type of game. Glad I didn't purchase it or rent it. Definitely worth downloading though.

The popularity of initial Xbox Live Arcade releases like Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved and Smash TV means other companies are quickly following in line. Capcom's first release onto the online marketplace will be Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting, feature everything you loved about the original offline but now with complete online multiplayer.
The competitive nature of players means Capcom doesn't appear to be skimping out on the features for Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting. You don't have to wait long to experience the magic, either; Capcom's vaguely said the game will become available early this year, which could be any week now.
* Online Options: Quarter Match - new mode created for Xbox Live Arcade
* Quick Match - jump into a match quickly for instant action
* Optimatch - determined by sorting through a set of filters that includes number of rounds, turbo speed, chat on or off and friends-only
* Create Game - coordinate invite-only matches among friends
* Spectator-based system allowing online competitors to use a "virtual quarter" to "buy into" matches
* Onlookers can watch the current brawl as they wait to battle the victor
* Voice chat support allows players to discuss and trash talk the current fighters
* You can highlight other's "quarters" to check their gamer tag or add as friends
* Can choose a competitive or casual option determining whether stats are
Offline Options:
* Arcade Mode, Vs. Modes, Training - just like you remember them
Comprehensive leaderboards
* Overall - the best players from around the globe as determined by a point-based system
* Monthly - uses the point-based system to designate best players in the past 30 days
* Best Character - based on who is the best at using each character
* Consecutive Wins - tracks winning streaks
Others
* Achievements - complete more than 10 offline and online objectives
* Fully customizable control options
* 5.1 surround sound

Downloaded this as well.TheTruth wrote:I downloaded the FN3 demo in about 15-20 minutes, so MS must throttle the bandwith accordingly. That made me happy. Demo is good too!
The demo looks great. If you didn't think NBA 2k, or Live looked next gen this one does.
However, the game feels stiff and not very fluid.

PGR3 demo is up tonight. Source: http://www.Majornelson.com
Good gracious!! The frigging thing is 1.25 gigs!! That must be some kind of record for a game demo!
One of the things I would like to see MS update is the ability to play a game or do something when downloading a demo.

They're working on that, at least according to Major Nelson's podcasts.kevinpars wrote:PGR3 demo is up tonight. Source: http://www.Majornelson.com

I agree. That is one of the more annoying things about the downloading process. That said, I'm looking forward to giving PGR3 another shot. I didn't play it near enough when I rented it.kevinpars wrote:PGR3 demo is up tonight. Source: http://www.Majornelson.com

Zuma was the first arcade game I purchased as well. It's extremely addicting. You'll tell yourself you're going to just play one game and then you look at the clock and it's an hour later. I like that it saves your level placement. I'm at level 5-1. Level 3 was a b***h!jLp vAkEr0 wrote:Finally caved in last night and bought Zuma.
What an addicting game.![]()
The only thing I had purchased was the NY Giants pic.
Waiting for the baseball pics.

I for one was not all that impressed with the Full Auto demo. Having to simultaneously shoot and drive sounds like it would be a lot of fun, but neither the shooting nor the driving are all that polished and exciting.
I'm skipping this title. Especially at $60. If Burnout Revenge doesn't have any issues, that is the the game I will be purchasing as I didn't play it but for a five day rental.

I played it last night. However, before that I played it on my Mac. So, I really can't see myself buying it.ScoopBrady wrote:Marble Blast Ultra is available for download in the Live Arcade. I haven't checked it out yet so I can't comment on the game.
This is one of those games that looks like it'll get too frusturatingly difficult to play after a while, but then again I'm not a big fan of the game. It looks and plays great though. The different levels are pretty creative. Definitely worth downloading.
I thought it was just okay. It is too similar to Monkey Ball, with a hint of Marble Madnees, but both of thsoe are way better on their own.sportdan30 wrote:I played it last night.
