Thought "The Hangover" was one of the most overrated comedies I've seen in the last decade, so I'm in no hurry to watch the sequel.

I thought the first one was very good -- clever plot, clever way to tell the story, and good characters. Compared to something like Old School -- funny but the story is like an afterthought -- I found The Hangover to be a lot deeper than a lot of films of its type.

I caught the film 'The Town' while I was traveling yesterday, not sure if it's out on DVD yet but it was good.

I enjoyed it but I have to agree with Brando. It was the same movie following the same formula but in Bangkok.

I liked it cause it was the same movie. :P

Got a long day of flying tomorrow. Can anyone suggest either Hall Pass or The Company Men?

I watched Hall Pass last night. It was decent. I was expecting better but it wasn't horrible. I'd give it a 7 out of 10. It had it's moments.

I watched True Grit yesterday...excellent, excellent movie. Jeff Bridges is fantastic as Rooster Cogburn and surprisingly Matt Damon is really good as the Texas Ranger. Never would have figured Damon being cast in a western but he was really good in it. Highly recommend it.

Thank You! I always thought the same but everyone else seemed to think it was the funniest movie of all time.
I did think it was funny, but most of the humor was very low level basic stuff.

On the other hand, I thought "Bridesmaids" was extemely funny and clever. Much better than Hangover IMO.

Of the two movies I watched this past week, Just Go With It and Hall Pass, I definitely give the edge to Hall Pass. Although, I thought the ending was rather rushed and corny. Overall though, I've always enjoyed Owen Wilson, Christina Applegate, and that chick from the Office. Whomever that blonde is who works in the coffee shop....wow!

Just Go With It: While I quite enjoy Jennifer Anniston, I don't find her acting to be that great. In fact, she's kind of annoying. Sandler was Sandler, and maybe I'm growing a little tired of the same ol same ol from him.

I rented True Grit to watch on my iPad and I'm thinking the movie would be much better suited to watch on my HDTV. Haven't watched it yet, so I'll just go with the blu-ray version and skip watching it on the iPad.

I had The Mist bluray sitting around the apartment for weeks and finally forced myself to watch it. The ending was... unexpected. Overall I admired it. Hell, almost the whole cast of the Walking Dead tv show is in it.

I enjoyed that movie until the ending. Hated that ending. Not because it was unexpected (which it was), but that it made no sense character-wise.

Boy oh boy, I couldn't disagree more. A great comedy makes you laugh every time you watch and this movie absolutely does that. In fact, I've seen it easily 10 times and every time I find something new that just makes me howl. If you've only seen it once, I strongly strongly suggest you watch it again.

As far as the sequel, it had moments but as expected it fell short of the original.

Loved the mist but man that ending just left me with so many mixed emotions, i know i wouldnt have chose that option which is why it just tared me up .

Overall it has to go down as a great ending in just the way it leaves you emotionally.

Agree with the Rally. I thought it was good the first time but it seems to have the better the second and third time quality. I have now watched it countless times, bought the blu ray and think its great.

I also saw Bridesmaids with the gf. We both liked it alot. Kind of like The Hangover for women but strong enough for a man. 8)

I agree. It asks a certain suspension of disbelief, but I thought Darabont did a good job of building to a moment where it felt like absolutely all hope was lost. And how could they know what was just around the bend...

Totally loved that giant behemoth Lovecraftian creature they come across while driving. The scale of it was terrifying. So big it didn't even notice them.

Finally watched the documentary Man On Wire on instant. WOW. See it if you haven't.

I've got True Grit on bluray waiting for me. Excited for that one.

I very much enjoyed Man on Wire. The preparation was astounding. Loved seeing the old home movies.

Saw it on a plane. The director has a thing for the grotesque. It doesn't say anything which hasn't been already said about the screwed-up world of ballet, just does it with this phantasmagoric POV of an anorexic, drugged-out dancer.

I really liked Man on Wire, also. Completely different subject matter, but I highly recommend another documentary, Inside Job, if you ever get a chance to see it. Lately, I've been enjoying documentaries more than most movies I've seen.

Watched Cedar Rapids last night. I enjoyed it. It didn't blow me away but it was funny. John C. Reilly had me in tears twice. It served its purpose. 7.5 of 10

Lord of the Rings Extended Editions finally come out on Blu-Ray tomorrow. I wish there was an option just to buy the films and not have to re-purchase all the same extras that were on the DVD versions, but I suspect I will be powerless to resist getting this.
