Edit: Uh Oh...my bank statement no longer shows the credit card transaction (I used my VISA debit card to pay).
Yesterday it was there as "pending". Looks like mine was cancelled

That sux Jack. I think I posted earlier that HP said all orders placed after 8/22/11 4:00am PST would get cancelled. But before you lose all hope give it another day or two because sometimes a pending charge will disappear when it gets converted to a permanent charge that takes 1-3 business days.

That's exactly my deal. iPad 2 rules all, but peer pressure and cheap price made me pull the trigger. Here's hoping it 'becomes' an Android tablet down the road.

They are supposed to re-release more of them on the hp website, so I am monitoring that webpage for any changes.
But, yeah, if u have any left over I would definitely be interested in getting them.

BB officially cancelled my order due to their 'error within our online system'. This part irks me: 'Being upfront and direct with our customers is important to us.', "we were unable to fulfill your request due to a lack of inventory"

To get back on topic, I picked up a Galaxy Tab 10.1 yesterday and I like it a lot. I got it as a second tablet for the house since the iPad 2 is such a hit but the primary reason I picked it up was to learn how to program for it. Can't very well do that if you don't have anything to test on.

I am looking for a decent case and the usb adapter. This is so different from the iPad. I am not totally comfortable with it yet.

Edit: what emulators are you guys using?

I need to do something to distract me from chasing down a certain tablet that I had no interest in a week ago.

Anyway, regardless of whether the aforementioned gadget ends up in my hand, I'm going to be looking for an Android tablet around Christmas. I'm having a devil of a time separating wheat from chaff on gadget sites about whether anything scheduled for Fall release is going to be significantly better than what's out now.

I'd start combing for deals on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 now if it's still going to be the thing to get come December.

Anyone with any thoughts?

The Galaxy Tab 10.1, while the best tablet on the market at this time, It won't be in a few months...almost guaranteed. Things like the HTC Puccini (or however you spell it) are going to be upping the ante in the next few months. So if you're waiting until Christmas time to get one, there should be a few more "powerful" options out there.

There are more, but most are just rumors so far...this one seems the most "ready to be released" if you know what I mean. Then again, none of the rumors seem to indicate that anything is going to be lighter/thinner than the Tab 10.1, so from an ergonomic standpoint, it really is going to be VERY tough to beat. So by the time Christmas comes around, you'll probably be able to score one fairly cheap.

Rob if you can score an HP TouchPad do so they are well worth the $150. I'm really enjoying WebOS and the TouchPad has a solid build quality.

I think today will be the last possible day to get one from a Best Buy, but you have to be there right after the delivery is made cause they are only delivering
50-100 to each store.
