Re: NBA Season 2010-11
LeQuit was asked in the press conf if he cared about the people who wanted to see him fail, here is his reply :
"Absolutely not, because at the end of the day, all the people that were rooting on me to fail, at the end of the day, they have to wake up tomorrow and have the same life that they had before they woke up today," James said. "They have the same personal problems they had today. I'm going to continue to live the way I want to live and continue to do the things that I want to do with me and my family and be happy with that.
"They can get a few days or a few months or whatever the case may be on being happy about not only myself, but the Miami Heat not accomplishing their goal. But they have to get back to the real world at some point."
Does this guy even think what comes out of his mouth? This is exactly the reason why people hate him. If he didn't care, he wouldn't have said all this, lol.

It's the same reason why he celebrated early in Game 2 and why he made fun of Dirk being sick. He really thinks it's LeBoneHead's world and we just live in it. The guy still thinks and talks like an immature kid. He''s clueless and classless.

Re: NBA Season 2010-11
LeBron's tweet late last night: The Greater Man upstairs know when it's my time. Right now isn't the time.
Are you f*cking sh*tting me? This guy says he didn't win the title this year because God didn't want it?
What a f*cking fraud. As Michael Wilbon said this morning on "SportsCenter," no other legendary athletes hid behind the "God said it's not my time" excuse. Not Ali. Jordan. Magic. Bird. Jim Brown. Etc. Etc. Etc.
This is no indictment of God, as I'm a practicing Catholic. But I think the Lord has bigger things to worry about than if LBJ finally wins a title.
What a d*uchebag. LeBron, that is.

Re: NBA Season 2010-11
What a great series! Congrats to the Mavs. IMO if Lebron gets a ring it won't be because of his play, it will be the play of his teammates. He has all of the talent in the world but he is missing the key component that previous greats had; drive. Jordan was driven because he was doubted growing up. The media has been riding Lebron's jock since he was a kid. I think he really does think he deserves a ring and will just get one because he is Lebron James. If he doesn't get one with the Heat I can see him signing 1-year contracts with championship-ready teams after this contract expires in search of a ring. Who did you see try to carry the team last night? I saw Wade, not Lebron. Very telling.

Re: NBA Season 2010-11
Agreed. I don't understand it. James obviously has oodles of talent but he is missing something upstairs that the true greats of the game had. He not only disappeared in key situations but he also made silly mistakes that star players should not make. James simply did not look like he wanted it as bad as his teammates and the Mavs, which is bizarre. I'm glad the Heat lost because James rubs me the wrong way and seems to be ridiculously conceited. It's cool to see the Mavs win because, love him or hate him, it's fun to see an owner with so much passion for the sport finally get a title.ScoopBrady wrote:Who did you see try to carry the team last night? I’m ashamed to admit I used to root for this guy. Heck, I practically worshiped him. He could do no wrong in my eyes, both on and off the court.
On the court I remember most when he single-handedly destroyed the Pistons, scoring the last 25 or so points in that game to put the Cavs in the Finals. A total contrast to the way he plays now late in the game.
And off the court I remember people remarking about his maturity and professionalism. Especially for such a young kid, how he always seemed to say the right thing. Compare that to the crap that’s coming out of his mouth now on an almost daily basis.
What the hell happened? The transformation that has occurred over the past couple of years is just mind-boggling to me.
Oh well, nice job Mavs!!!

Re: NBA Season 2010-11
Congratulations to the Mavs, they played extremely well in the playoffs and beat a lot of tough teams to win their first ring. I especially liked how they played well as a team and how other players filled the void during the few times Dirk struggled.
As for the Heat, I am surprised LeBron did not play well in the finals. He really stepped up against the Bulls and in fact carried the struggling Wade for most of that series, but starting in Game 2 against the Mavs, he just looked so passive. I don't really care that he's an a-hole -- the list of 50 greatest NBA players is littered with guys who routinely were starters on the All-Prick team -- but the fact that he wilted under pressure yet again is very telling.

It makes me crazy when people use that God copout. Or when they win they give all the credit to God.pk500 wrote:LeBron's tweet late last night: The Greater Man upstairs know when it's my time. Right now isn't the time.

Take some accountability for you own actions! You are right PK, I'm sure if there is some "supreme being"
watching over us, he's not overly concerned with egotistical millionaire professional athletes.

Re: NBA Season 2010-11
LeBron is surrounded by enablers, people like the suits at Nike and World Wide Wes. They treat him like a deity, and no one in that inner circle will have the balls to tell him to look in the mirror or listen to his soundbites to see or hear what an asshat he has become. They're petrified of falling off the LeBron Gravy Train.lexbur wrote:What the hell happened? The transformation that has occurred over the past couple of years is just mind-boggling to me.
There are some VERY loose similarities between LeBron and the man whom I saw enshrined with other greats yesterday in the Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota, N.Y., Mike Tyson. Once Tyson's trainer and father figure Cus D'Amato died in 1985, a cast of very unsavory characters surrounded Iron Mike and filled his head with ego-fueling garbage while fleecing his pockets.
While I don't think LeBron is nearly as immature or mentally fragile as Tyson was in the late 80s, the similarities are there -- ever so slightly -- of being surrounded by yes men who could create feet of clay for a seemingly indestructible, dominant athlete and worldwide sports figure.
The other difference is that Tyson had reached the pinnacle when scum disguised as friends started to seep into his pores. He was the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, The Baddest Man on the Planet.

Re: NBA Season 2010-11
Jim Rome ripped LeBonehead a new one today on his show. He got it right as usual that the Heat lost not because of Wade or Bosh but because of LeBron's poor play in the series and that both Wade and Bosh are afraid to tell him what he did wrong. He also said he wouldn't doubt if Coach Spo is given more more year to get it done with the talent.
If the league gets it's way with a hard cap the Big 3 may not be on the same team next year.

Re: NBA Season 2010-11
Well to be fair, a lot of athletes attribute their successes or failings to God. Or talk about fate, teams of destiny and so forth.
I only got to see the first two games of the Finals but it seemed even in previous series that they really haven't worked out the ball-sharing thing. Wade or LBJ would get the ball on different possessions and as soon as one passed it off to the other, most of the time he was a spectator in those half-court possessions.
They had some awkward possessions, including the collapse in game 2. In game 1, they were hitting 3s at a rate way above average so it covered up their issues in half court. But they've had this meshing problem all season long and when they were struggling during the season, one of them was often superfluous when they were both in the game. It's like once they deferred, they were not going to work off the ball to get a better shot. So they could be passive for parts of a game and it sounds like in the later games, LBJ couldn't get out of that mode, probably tensed up a bit about taking big shots.
Despite all that, it's surprising they couldn't take it to 7 games, given that they threw away game 2 and sounds like game 4 as well.

Except that if they go hard cap, they will be given 2 to 3 years to get under that cap, so it ain't happening next year.Rodster wrote:If the league gets it's way with a hard cap the Big 3 may not be on the same team next year.

If the issues between the owners and union are as severe as I'm reading, no NBA players may take their talents to the court next season.Rodster wrote:If the league gets it's way with a hard cap the Big 3 may not be on the same team next year.
Can you imagine a fall and early winter without the NFL and NBA? Talk about an American sports meltdown.

LBJ also was horribly lazy on defense -- a supposed strength he leaned on early in the series when being questioned for disappearning late in games -- in Games 5 and 6.wco81 wrote:Well to be fair, a lot of athletes attribute their successes or failings to God.
