Yeah, if they are up there I'm pretty sure they are official Sony rosters.

I think I'm just going to roll with these rosters then. I won't be playing multiple seasons, so I can't imagine needing Knight's roster set or anyone elses. I really don't care about the potential of a AA player on the Royals. I'm sure edits to pitch deliveries and stances are probably more realistic using Knight's or Wookies, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to notice.

Can you get it to play Go cubs Go after each win?

BTW i noticed something weird, last night I had to save a game for the first time, when I came back to it i notice all my dynamic pitch ratings had reset to as if it was the first pitch of the game. Is that normal?

Thats what Im doing too. I started a new season on all star with the update before the basketball game tonight.

White Sox 2-1 over the Royals. I was just one out away from a complete game for Buehrle. I yanked him for Jenks after he gave up a 2 out 9th inning hr.

This game is just too sweet.

I'm going to wait for next Monday's update before re-starting my franchise since the rookies (like Rasmus and Freese on the Cards) cannot be added until they've played their first game.

So the custom sounds are linked to a roster? That's sort of annoying, yet I can understand it.

I got them all on my system, but will probably just assign all the Mets, and maybe home run celebration songs around the league... but even that might get too annoying, since it's on a player-by-player basis instead of linking it simply to a team or stadium.

It is kind of annoying, but at least your markers remain the same if you use the sound files from OS. It actually doesn't take that long to go set the music for players once that's done.

Yeah... the markers are actually sort of fun. Every clip is a fun little surprise.

I haven't kept up with what bugs others are seeing in the game, but the devs have formally announced that a patch will be coming (for the PS3 version):

Just experienced perhaps one of my favorite sports video gaming moments of all time. A 15 inning affair that ended with a Pujols walk off two run home run against the Pirates. What made the game even more amazing is that Pittsburgh took the lead 4-2 in the 11th inning. At that point I thought the game was over. The Pirates brought in Capps to close it out. The game is pretty much a blur but with two outs, Rasmus doubled home two runs with a shot to the gap. He was out trying to stretch it to a triple, but the second run crossed before he was tagged out. Then with Albert riding an 0-6 night, he hit a deep drive to center that cleared the wall by about 10 feet. He jumped around first base, and the rest of the Cardinals were waiting at home plate to congratulate him.

Absolutely amazing.

That's pretty awesome, Dan.

I had a rather momentous (for me) game yesterday in a game against the Astros: I hung 9 runs on the CPU in one inning, including home runs by Koske Fukodome in the same inning. KF led off with a solo shot and then finished with a 3-run dinger before the Astros finally got out of the inning. It was cool how the announcers talked about the level of offense while it was going on. Won the game 10-6.

Of course, the next game against the Brewers, I managed only four hits and one run while getting pounded 11-1. Just when I think I'm getting this game, it slaps me back to reality.

One question: are you guys seeing many in-game injuries? I think I've seen 2, both two opposing pitchers, but none to my players. They only seem to happen when I sim. I considered increasing the injury slider, but wonder if that will only increase the frequency of simmed injuries.

I'm almost 60 games into my season and have only seen two injuries to my players so far. And they were both day-to-day. I haven't had to put anyone on the DL yet. Which is fine, my last place Tribe needs all the help it can get.

It's funny, driving in to work this morning on the radio they were talking about the crappy start the Tribe has gotten off to so far this year, how they're being impatient at the plate, striking out way too much, especially with runners in scoring position, and how bad the pitching's been so far. I could swear they were talking about my Tribe in The Show! :D

I don't do the workouts as religously as I used to (I'm actually gonna start a new series hardcore in the near future), but I do enough to keep most of the benefits. After watching every dvd a number of times, I can tell you that they are neither boring or annoying yet, which I think says a great deal.

My highest recommendations.
LOL...wrong thread. I wish I could drop 20 lbs playin' the Show on the PS3. LOL.

the ps2 version has perfect gameplay. I'm sure the ps3 version is better but ps2 show 100x better than 2k9 360 gameplay.

Random thoughts:

The Astros swept me (The Cardinals). Oswalt completely dominated me from start to finish. What a difference between a legit number one starter and a 2, 3, 4, and 5 starter.

I came back the next series against the Diamondbacks and swept them. My pitching was insanely good as opposed to the Houston series.

Pujols finally has started hitting. Three jacks in his last four games. Ankiel is hitting like he is in real life...like crap! Ludwick has finally connected for his first 10 games in. I desperately need Glaus back as Thurston, Freese, and Barden are all struggling. Schumacker had a late inning throwing error that cost me the game...should have replaced him late.

I turned off homerun celebrations as I love to watch the ball fly out of the park. Plus, it still puts a little doubt in your mind whether or not the ball is actually going to be a homerun. I'm not one necessarily for the player specific celebrations. If I want to see it, I'll watch the replay.

Well, I made the switch from meter to classic. I'm now walking more batters, but most importantly the pace of the game feels better. Before I was watching the meter that I didn't have much time to watch the delivery and the release of the ball from the pitcher's hand. There was too much shifting of the eyes.

I love pitching from the outfield perspective. It's a good change of pace from batting from the catcher view.

I'm hoping the broadcast commentary is overhauled after this year. I've finally worn thin of it. I'd like to hear a lot more banter back and forth between the three. It's much better with fast play off, but I can't play hour plus games anymore. On the positive side, it's neat to hear them comment on how a player is doing during the course of the season (i.e. Player A is on a 8 game hitting streak, Player B is only 1 for his last 10, Player C is having a poor series, etc.)

Why is it that I've had to already sit Pujols two games because of fatigue? I've had to sit other players as well. I look at the opposing team I'm playing, and they've got their fatigue meters are all full. For me, I feel like my daily lineup is like a chess match.

12 games in to my season and I'm still seeing new animations and variety of hits. I'm even seeing different types of playable foul balls.

In game saves are a necessity. I love picking up a game where I'm already in the third inning.

All in all, a very solid effort.

That's one thing they have YET to get right and I can't believe it's not a bigger deal. Player fatigue. Guys that play 160+ games a year should not need to be sat until Midseason because of fatigue, if at all.

BTW...the coolest animation I've seen is when there is a bunt down one of the lines and it rolls foul just slightly, the 3rd or 1st baseman will knock the ball even further foul so that it doesn't come back fair. Just an awesome little detail.

I've stuck with meter pitching because it's not nearly as accurate as it was last year, and I've always liked that kind of pitching interface since MVP introduced it. I'm getting more realistic pitch counts and walks because even if you hit the accuracy line (a big if this year), pitches can still float around.

I started my Cubs franchise over with the opening day rosters and I'm 1-5, having just gotten swept by the Brewers. I love the streakiness of the game, even when I'm doing poorly.

I haven't touched a single slider in this game, playing on All-Star defaults. It's so nice to have a sports game that really simulates its sport right out of the box.

The fatigue issue is the one thing that irks me, but I also wonder if upgrading team facilities/transportation help? Some of those things supposedly reduce fatigue.

One question: is there any way to see an opposing player's card in the game? I'd like to check a pitcher's pick-off rating but can't figure out how to do it.

Im 2-4 with the Sox after restarting my season on all-star default. Including 1-0? and 10-9 losses...Very cool to see variety like that.

I hate touching sliders so Im also very happy with the way it plays.

Don't feel bad the Reds just put up a 14 spot on Marshall yesterday for me and I am 4-9 I think. D-Lee sucks bad in this game just like real life so it's all gravy.

One thing I noticed is the Cubs infield has no range, A-Ram gets to almost nothing and a lot of balls get by for singles that the AI is eating up no matter who I play. Either the Cubs have the worst defense in the league when it comes to range or the game is getting a boost. I've felt that in a lot of areas like the game is getting a boost, I never felt that way in 08 but i chalk it up to sucking. :)

I was having the worst time hitting in this year's game. Couldn't seem to break the habit of jamming the thumbstick downward in response to every pitch. Worked well for stuff low in the zone, and terribly for everything else. Things started to turn around for me when I stopped trying to read pitches out of the pitcher's hand and instead just concentrated on owning the center of the plate (and keeping my left thumb still when possible). Whenever anything drifts near the middle, I smack it. Hitting in the .280 range as a team now, instead of wallowing in the .230's where I was before.

Most of all it's felt good to change my focus from the pitcher to the center of the plate. It's like the pressure's on him now to keep out of the wheelhouse, instead of my trying to anticipate and read every pitch and adjust in a millisecond.
