Yeah but he didn't touch the ratings in that set so your still good.pk500 wrote:Thanks, dude. Sadly, if you go back and read the roster author comments from versions 1.1 of this roster, he indicates that he plans player updates in future versions.Rodster wrote:PK give this update a try. UGH. It seems like people think their rosters aren't "real" if they don't f*ck with the ratings.

Yes to accelerated clock. Not sure about player roles. Any help from others on that one?
Just an FYI: I'm not seeing the fumble or INT problems reported by some on the 360 and PS3 in the PC version, either.
Take care,
PK

The clock every quarter starts at 15:00 even if you're playing quarters of a lesser length. The clock is accelerated while you're choosing plays, in a time-scaled fashion depending on what quarter length you choose.fsquid wrote:ok, let me ask the dumb question. Actually the quarters are whatever length you choose. They will not start at 15 minutes. What happens is the play clock will automatically go down to around 18 seconds after a play is called. It basically adds the usual time between plays which usually doesn't get added in videogame football. That way if you choose a play in 10 seconds it still runs down the time. It makes for more realistic drive times and plays per game.

That's not exactly how it works, at least in the Xbox version.pk500 wrote:The clock every quarter starts at 15:00 even if you're playing quarters of a lesser length. My understanding of of it is that you can choose any quarter length you want. Where the accelerated clock comes in is after you select a play, the clock winds down X number of seconds. This way, even if you choose a play within a sec or two, the play clock winds down to 20 seconds before you get to the LOS.
I think the reason for having such a feature is to better simulate the timing of a real game. Without the accel. clock, even if you manage the clock (usually by waiting to select a play or hike the ball) realistically, the CPU tends to get plays off too quickly. It's just an easier way to get a realistic number of plays in a game.
Edit: Yeah, just like Scoop said

I noticed them on the Xbox too. It's more like 2 man tackling than gang tackling though. The one I saw had 2 of my LBs stand up a HB in the hole and drive him onto his back.dbdynsty25 wrote:Yes. I'll have to check out roles, but I know formation subs are still in there.

The is ONLY two man tackles on the 360 version. There's also a 3rd guy in to hump the two-man tackled but he never does anything. I've never seen a true 3 or 4 man tackle.

So it's just a canned animation nothing more, nice EA. I know the PC version has two man tackles. I'm glad I went with the PC version this year.JRod wrote:The is ONLY two man tackles on the 360 version. There's also a 3rd guy in to hump the two-man tackled but he never does anything. You're right but I was hoping it would be more like the gang tackles in NFL2K5 where it looked more organic than what's currently in Madden and NCAA. The two man gang tackles always looked the same whereas in NFL2K5 it was more fluid. Sometimes in NFL2K5 you got hit by one guy and the other two or three defenders came in to finish you off. I didn't see that in the NCAA demo.dbdynsty25 wrote:Isn't EVERYTHING in the game canned?

Those were always the best. I loved when the CPU would wrap-up a guy & then I'd come flying to take the dude down. good stuff.Rodster wrote:You're right but I was hoping it would be more like the gang tackles in NFL2K5 where it looked more organic than what's currently in Madden and NCAA. I always cover ball going into crowd...learned it at the school of losse ballskicko wrote:Don't turbo into a crowd, do you?Diablo25 wrote:Damn excessive turnovers are killing the game for me. last night less than 5 minutes in - 3 fumbles and an INT. BS.
i stopped boosting into defenders and fumbles are like 1-2 a game, i only use it when after i break tackles.
It comes and goes. Last night was my first really excessive turnovers-for-TD game -- my opening season game in my Bears franchise, 9 minute quarters, INTs turned to 0 and Defensive Awareness at 30. I threw two picks with Grossman, one of which was returned for a TD, and also fumbled when Desmond Clark got absolutely drilled by a safety. Phillip Rivers threw three picks, two of which got taken to the house. None of the turnovers were really ridiculous in terms of how they happened, but three defensive TDs is a lot.Diablo25 wrote:Damn excessive turnovers are killing the game for me. last night less than 5 minutes in - 3 fumbles and an INT. I think it's because of the jumps the defenders get. In the actual league, a lot of picks involve the defender occupying the same space as the receiver, getting the ball, and going down. Because of the way DBs react in Madden, they often have a lot of momentum when they make a pick, and if the pass is to the side, they have a head start toward the end zone.XXXIV wrote:Thats my key too...most of the TOs are okay...Over a season I dont think they will be too many...its the amount that get returned for TDs thats not right.Brando70 wrote: but three defensive TDs is a lot.
