I just experienced the blinking orange light. Thing wouldn't turn on. I always had it on stand by no problems. Not sure why this rest mode screws things up. Just unplugged it and replugged and it's on, but wonder if this will be a recurring thing.

I have that problem with my PS4 as well after putting it in rest mode. I rebooted in safe mode and re-installed the update and hopefully that'll help resolve it. I've seen some posts of varying success doing that so crossing my fingers.

I think it is widespread enough I would expect a hotfix patch from Sony. I don't really use rest / standby mode so its not effecting me.

I didn't want to start a new thread for this. I know we have a good number of Chicago area users on DSP. I'm growing increasingly weary of Uverse as an internet provider, I have decreased speeds due to the number of devices and their in home device is really crap.

I'm thinking of switching to Comcast but I'm looking for some feedback. Last thing I want to do is switch and then get worse service. Any Chicago area users have experience with Comcast or both?

Ugh, thanks for the heads up folks! Better call home this PM and tell my kids not to put it into rest mode.

Read that when it comes back from rest, it checks your psn online acct and messes up somewhere. Psn was down for maintenance last night when I encountered the issue. Will check later today.

Comcast sucks but their internet is the fastest. If you just get Internet it's fine. The problem is if you have to call thier customer service. They really have no clue what they're doing. Most of the time they'll eff up stuff. This is based more on the tv cable side but internet is no issue.

I'm shocked, SHOCKED, I tell you, that Microsoft is working on a slim version of their console. Sony is really dropping the ball here. Don't they know Microsoft is already working on this? Apparently Sony doesn't want their consumers to have nice things.

 sarcasm noted. This news wasn't really a surprise but a slim Xbox One would be sweet.

The smartglass is pretty kick ass.

I can tell Vader( who is actually pretty funny!) how much I hate him for trying to get me to play Dragons 360, watch Shaun Of The Dead on CMDYD while surfing the net and completely ignoring my gf.

Big props to MS

and YET ANOTHER! BIG HUGE go f*** yourselves to the small minded simpletons at ea.

I think they can do more with SmartGlass, but the newest version for the XB1 is really slick. The best feature is that if I open up a text box to write message, the app loads up keyboard automatically. But it also makes the app better for getting and sending messages, especially since I get a notification, just like getting a text.

You can surf the store, buy a game and have it loaded and ready when you get home. The activity feed scrolls like Facebook, so you can watch the same video clips you would see on the console. For the 360, SmartGlass was a neat idea I rarely used. I use it all the time now.

Well I've tried everything but Rest just has the orange blinking going on for my PS4. I guess I will just turn it off. I even redownloaded the update but it didnt solve anything.

was reading the PS4 forums and I guess this is the norm for Sony. They force updates without being thoroughly tested and crippling stable users.

Traded my PS4 and Camera in yesterday and pre-ordered the Assassins Creed bundle with Kinect for $449. I'll pick it up tomorrow morning from Best Buy when they open. Looking forward to getting back to Live and the Xbox ecosystem. Also got a $50 card to purchase The Golf Club and picked up NHL 15 after playing the demo on the PS4. NHL used to be my other go to game and the last time I put any real time into it was likely NHL 98 for PC. Game has changed a great deal and will take some time getting used to the new controls. Fully understand that NHL 15 does not have near the features it used to, but I enjoyed the gameplay in the demo and it will be a good one for me to practice with and see if I can get to a point where I could play some with the Ice Dragons in the future.....also going to be picking up FH2 very soon as well. I have like another year and a half left on my XBox Live, so I am good there and looking forward to signing up for EA Early access even though it will be too late for the titles just released recently. I'll be ready for PGA 15 when it comes out in the Spring. Try not to f*** it up EA.....

Enjoyed the PS4. However, I miss the Live ecosystem, and I miss many of my friends on Live from the past. Also miss the MS controller over the DS4. At this stage, I can't justify two consoles as I do not have time for both with as much time as I am investing in my IRL Golf game. Can't wait for my new Nike Vapor Pro Combo irons to show up....they are supposed to ship on the 7th and they can't get here soon enough!

Looking forward to seeing you all on XB Live very soon!

Good decision going for the Kinect version. As good as The Golf Club is I'll still be ready to pounce on EA's offering in the spring. You will love FH2 (I gotta get back into it myself!). Sounds like you are set to launch tomorrow :).

I'm heading out on the links today for my last round of the year...44 degrees and windy 8O My i25’s have given me my best year of golf yet. Was in the mid to low 70’s all season. LOVE GOLF.

That's nice to hear. I'm not far off what you did. But I may keep the ps4 while i buy xbo. But if sony keeps screwing up, I'll be happy to sell it. Don't need the PIA.

Few questions about XBO :

1.Can you do all that television stuff w/o kinect? like watching live tv and playing xbo?
2.EA Access - so if i get EA access, I get at least 6 hours on every new game this year right? Or is it 6 hours total for all games?

@Inuyasha, you don't need the Kinect to snap TV and yes it's the full 6 hours per game demo.

Also, you can get the six hour trials on all games, even after they release. So you won't miss that. I imagine DA will be just 2 hours, though.

Part of the last update was enabling a double tap on the Xbox button to bring up a Dpad menu to snap things pretty easily without Kinect. One choice is always Record That, which gets those last 30 second clips quickly, too. I still like the Kinect, but MS is making the UI Kinectless now.

You just run an HDMI out of your cable box then thru the XB1 to your TV. Simple.

Same here. Ignored SmartGlass for the 360. Use it almost every time I fire up my One. It's fantastic.

Had both, but the One version is light years better....just bought The Golf Club on Smartglass and will install tomorrow as soon as I get my unit and get it up and running....
