Two evenly matched teams. The Blues seem to have a little more depth. But, man can the Hawks go from defense to offense in a blink of an eye. They're fun to watch.

The Blues dump and chase almost cost them the game. I guess they don't have the speed of the Hawks but a ton of empty possessions. I thought Chicago was the more aggressive team, especially in the second.

This game was two cross bars away from a Blackhawks win or tie going in to overtime. Congrats Hawks on another excellent season.

That was the fun we've been missing for a few games! f***in Blackhawks would not just die, though. Well, not until "you take the knife and jam it through their eye into their brain and kill them."

The lack of depth on the Hawks' D ended up costing them the series. Even though the score was close and two posts away from a tie, there's no question in my mind that the Blues were the better team. If it wasn't for Crawford, this game could have ended with a more lopsided score.

They have been playing a cut of the Blues GM Doug Armstrong from two years ago saying that about the Blues all week. He was talking about the Blues lack of that mentality being the problem. Well, consider the knife embedded.

I've seen that double post replay about 10 times already. Amazing how close that was.

Yeah, it makes Hitch such a better coach now. :-)

All the talk was that he was gone if he couldn't win this game, which is ridiculous. We're talking about going 4-3 versus 3-4 versus a fantastic team that is a bitter rival.

The fact is, if the Blues blow the next round, no one will care about this series, anymore.

You'll win that series 4-1 at worst.

I don't know... they handled us pretty well in the regular season.

Agree, they have a lot of power up front. Close series for sure. Blues are so high now that they may have a little drop, an emotional drop.

With the Rams gone, the Blues may find a whole new fan base. It really is the perfect time for the Blues to get hot. The whole city is jacked and ready to tell Stan go f*** himself.

Twitter, so read from the bottom up.

Especially if Seguin comes back. Their D isn't like Chicago's but they have good scoring lines.

I thought the Stars were the team to beat in the Western Conference going into the playoffs. I don't think the Blues take this easily at all. I favor the Stars to win the series to be honest. Congrats to the Blues for winning a great series. As with any series you could look back to a couple of breaks that could have swung the series the other way. Either way both teams played well and it is a shame both couldn't advance.

It is weird today not having another Hawks game to look forward too, how did the rest of you do this every year? :D

I missed most of them, it's a long story but I didn't get into hockey until just before I moved to Chicago and that was in 1991. Back then getting tickets to a Hawks game was pretty easy for a number of reasons (biggest is my wife worked for Leo Burnett advertising) so I would see a half dozen games a season live. I saw a Sox's game once with Bo Jackson but that is a funny story for another thread.

With that defense and goaltending? Unless Lehtonen stands on his head....no way, just can't see it happening. Benn and Spezza aren't nearly as scary as Kane and Panarin. If Seguin remains out, that's a huge blow for Dallas. I'll gladly take whatever the Stars throw out at us. Not having to see Toews, Kane, Panarin, Keith and Seabrook out there every other shift, for me feels like a huge monkey off my back. It was like playing a Zombie video game on extreme mode...they just kept coming and coming. I don't see anybody on Dallas having that same affect. No homerism but I like my Blues to win in 5 or 6 here.

Also should be pointed out how classy the Hawks were in the handshake line. I was damn impressed, I'll say that much. We know Q told the Blues players to get it done and win the cup and that's pretty cliche I guess but I also thought I saw Toews say the same thing in the line and then there was Keith not just hand shaking but also giving them a pat on the chest after the handshake.
Damn that was a helluva a series...the hockey in this next round can only be a disappointment compared to that.

No Lucic death threats? :P

Was a great series.

Looking forward to tonight's GM 7. Good luck Terry and also Jimmy who I have read on this board is also a Ducks fan.

I hope you're right, but I've watched a decent amount of Dallas this year and they are legit. They are every bit as fast and skilled with the top 2 lines as Chicago is. Maybe their D isn't as good, but they look to break out quick. I just hope the Blues learned what it takes to move on and they come out and play a great series. Dallas is not to be taken lightly.
