Terry pretty much covered it, but I do know that tie ups are no longer in the game. I am not sure why or if they were in NHL 15 since I skipped last year.

On the other hand, my AI seems braindead against the same play. You've got to be careful on D against the computer to take that play away or else it gets frustrating seeing the CPU scored 5 goals on 9 shots.
That's what happened to me my first game against CPU. A few times my player was only defender back. How are you preventing the CPU one timers?

If you play back and keep your stick down (hold RB and move the RS), stay in the passing lane. I've deflected I don't even know how many one timer attempts doing that. If I'm NOT the only one back and it's 2 on 2, you can easily skate with a guy and just nudge him as the pass is coming, easily breaking up the reception and the puck will just skitter harmlessly into the corner.

Once in a while I'll misplay one and feel like a fool, or just golf clap a great pass, but I haven't felt overly cheated in my games of NHL16. Most of them have been in versus mode in same-couch situations, though. I've only had about 20 games or so under my belt so far.

FIFA and NHL both feel less fluid that last year. Is it just me?

I am going to hold my judgement on Fifa 16 as I am much enjoying the gameplay oh PES 16 and haven't really played the game much on Access surprisingly. Fifa 15 was all about speed last season. Constant north-south action while the pace this year from my games was more constructive. The collision system doesn't seem as accurate as PES and the fighting for the ball is also more organic with Konami. But we all know that. Don't expect a sim experience with Fifa. One thing I did noticed so far is that controlling your player in Fifa 16 is not as easy as 15 while the crossing and headers have improved.

In NHL 16 passing in online games is a nightmare. Just ask any Dragon, even when you play as a playmaker. Even receiving the puck at times your player tends to struggle but overall the skating physics is good. Haven't played much offline but the CPU does seem to collapse much quicker in front of the net creating a lot of block shot and passes.

I've taken to playing with the passing arrows on, to make sure I'm aiming at the right guy and to preview where my pass will go to verify it's what I intend.

Fewer "WTF" passes.

Just had another very good game against the Bruins. Lost 2-1, but the game felt fair and exciting. Rask was a monster in net and I had plenty of chances. I scored late in the 3rd to break the shutout and just couldn't tie it up.

I'm playing on Pro with goalie reaction bumped up a couple notches in favor of my side.

Unfortunately, I saw one penalty all game.

I'm seeing a lot of penalties since Friday night and more importantly I'm drawing penalties, usually when using the power move going to the net.

Really enjoying the game, overall. Trying to get better at playing D which isn't easy. But having a good overall experience thus far.

Big question guys. My internet connection is okay, decently quick, but I have to use a mIfI for updates and tuners. Don't play online. But the first update is taking forever. Kinda stuck around 6 hours to go mark. Anyone else bump into this?

I screwed around as a BAP goalie last night.. holy f*** are my D bad. It was a constant 1-timer fest in my own end last night. The CPU always hit a WIDE OPEN guy while the D playing in front of the net just sat there as a tripod.

Played My first Season mode game on pro and got a 4-2 win vs the Leafs. Pacioretty scoring two goals to celebrate today's real life elevation to captain.

Its fun and feels good but its the same old rubber band AI that irritates the f*** out of me....

Both times I got the two goal lead it was almost impossible to complete a simple pass.

Patches second goal...

I played some drop in EASHL last night and had a GREAT game playing center. The 2 games I have played with randos have actually been good. People pass and don't act too stupid. Hell, 1 game I played D I actually got passes back to the point.

QUESTION: what camera do you use when playing D. I play with the high view so I can see everything , BUT when I play D I end up off the screen way too much and it makes it hard to play the point in the offensive zone.

Personally, I like the overhead view. The back button is good to use when you feel that you're missing some of the action.

Dynamic high is good for d its about the same as overhead for how much ice you can see but seems closer.

Watch your poke check! New tuner is out and poke spammers will rack up the penalties. I always thought I was smart with the poke, but I just had 9 penalties vs the CPU. 8O
