Fun indeed!
Go Dolphins!
I thought when they lost to Ampa their season was over. Have to give the Dolphins credit. Though if they didn't blow the Buffalo and Tampa games earlier this year, they would be in great shape.

More evidence...Steelers should have had an untimed down at end of first half of Dolphins game for makeable 42 yard FG attempt or hail mary. NFL quietly doles out 10k penalty and no talk of loss of a draft pick for a play that could have impacted the playoffs. The official ran into the coach who was on the field and didn't even throw a flag!

LOL...difference is the dude falling on the sideline, into an official doesn't affect the play on the field. Pretty big difference. Tho I do agree that it should have been a flag, because well, it is a penalty. That Steelers Blog (shockingly) thinks that it's a given that a 50 yard field goal (which I think there has been ONE in all of the years at Heinz) was going to be made. That's almost as ridiculous as them claiming the Dolphins should give up a draft pick too. Tomlin's gaff was WAY more hurtful to the game. Yes, it was handled wrong by the officials on the field, big shock, but the penalty is appropriate.
Tho in retrospect I do wish they'd take a Dolphins pick away...that would just be one less pick Jeff Ireland can f*ck up.
It would have been a 42 yard field goal on a snowy field, but Suisham hit a 45 yard field goal last night with a 20 mph swirling cross wind. I think the $100k fine and the $10k fines are appropriate and there should be no loss of picks for either team, but if the league is going to take a way a draft pick under the premise that Tomlin's actions and the loss of 4 potential points could impact playoff positioning and seeding (and how can that not be the basis or they would have announced it already) then I don't know how you can't penalize the Dolphins over a play that might have actually changed the outcome. The Dolphins coach is much further in the field than Tomin and actually collided with a game official. In Tomlin's case 2 NFL officials had a clear view (one actually ran around Tomlin) and no flag was thrown....yet the Steelers lose a pick. The Dolphins and league are fortunate that based on the picture Polamalu appears to be cutting it back inside rather than staying on the sideline where the game cameras might have at least picked up on the collision.
Doesn't the league have to do something more than a $10k fine? This play happened only 10 days after Tomlin's "hurtful" play. The official involved should suffer a long suspension if not immediate dismissal for not throwing a flag.

Pretty sure that if Troy ended up going down that sideline (the punishment would have HAD to be the same or at least more in line, and they would have been proud to announce it). I'm not sure how the league would differentiate between the level of coach (SP Teams vs. Head)...but I'm pretty confident the head coach would get the stiffer penalty. But again, Tomlin's WAS hurtful to the game. You could make the case that the Dolphins one was as well, but certainly not a strong one. More had to go right after that play for that to be the case. I do agree that the penalty, at least the fine, should have been stiffer. Neither should lose a draft pick...that's just stupid.
The bigger issue for yourself and Steeler nation is they lost to a team who absolutely, unequivocally CANNOT play in the cold.
He's a one-man highlight reel for an eventual "how not to play defensive back" video. That angle on the Josh Gordon TD
Because it didn't actually affect the game, I had to laugh at seeing him come flying into the frame. It takes a lot to make me wish to see Adam Archuletta back in a Bears uniform.
A win is a win, though. Here's hoping the Lions continue their Lionsy ways.

I'll admit I was mad at that play but I was even more upset on several tackle attempts. This guy might have the worst pursuit angles and tackling technique of any safety in the game. He is really good about being the 2nd or 3rd guy on the pile though.

So I am a Dolphins fan living in Syracuse, NY. I have Sunday Ticket so I can watch them every week. But unfortunately, whenever they play the Bills in December, the game gets blacked out (Yes even though I am 3 hours from Buffalo, and am two tv markets away, we get the game blacked out too). Just found out this week's game will get blacked out too. Apparently there are over 16k tix available and the Bills have said they will not purchase them to lift the blackout.
So do I have any options to see this game (other than driving to Buffalo and sitting in the cold, wet snow and rain)? I am wondering if the game will be blacked out on the Game Mix channel?

If you have the Sunday Ticket Plus (or whatever they call it where you can stream on your laptop/computer) you can use a proxy internet site (that makes it seem as though you're in Oklahoma or some random place) so you can watch it. That's where I'd start.
Most excited I have ever been about a FG attempt that wasn't in a Bears game. He dropped it like an 8-ball in the corner pocket.
At this point, it is far from a given they will beat the Giants at home next week. I will be rooting hard for Eli as well as the Steelers to beat the Packers this week.
