I certainly don't hit all of the fairways and a wild duckhook left is never out of the realm of possibility with me. Not sure if it's my controller, how I hold the controller, or if I just suck. I mean, yes I do hit most of the fairways, but I can certainly pull a wild one off to the left every now and again too.

I love the chipping, it's my favorite part of the game.

Putting though, ooph. I can't get a feel for it and as witnessed on a hole or two in the OCC daily, I can turn a 8-10 foot putt into a 12-15 foot putt coming back. :(

Fun though, for sure.
Nice going in the DSP County Club Daily today Wilk! I'll be playing my round when I get home in the AM. DSP'ers, the tournament is Live from the DSPCC clubhouse until 9:00 AM tomorrow, if you're interested. I'll have to get my pitching game together to challenge Wilk with a +7.

JC, where can you see the scores online? Also, how are you posting messages in the OCC msg board online too?

Anyone else noticed the sand trap bug? When I hit a shot that rolls or bounces into a bunker, the announcer makes a comment about finding the bunker, but then I'm hitting from where the shot touched down outside of the bunker. Shots straight into the bunker stay there though.

I also just logged +7 in our daily tourney. That was the first round I've played with no grid. 43% on the fairways, 45% of greens, 32 putts.

JC, thanks for setting up the tourney. Playing my own created player I screwed up the last hole and shot a +1. I also finally got to the 'Legacy Mode' without any hiccups today and I must say, I really like the little games that are involved in Tiger's early years. In fact for those that may be struggling with your short games, I recommend this game mode very much.

BTW, I used some of my hard earned coins to buy some pins. Does anyone know hoe they work exactly? Or is it just for the release version?

Pins work by giving you a boost for that particular round. You equip the pin prior to your round and then go and play. I use the XP pin so I could get my guy built up faster.

If you go to the OCC page there and go into our club you can scroll around and there is a spot where it says post a new message.

Time to go play our daily and then the online daily.

Gonna try and get in the DSP Daily that JC set up in a little bit. I'm in the midst of a bunch of long days due to baseball (season just started) so I might crash also :). Thanks for setting it up JC

I shot a +14 in the DSP daily tourney. Missed tons of fairways, had 4 short 3 foot putts that went in and out of the cup, and mishit twice on putts that ended up only going an inch. Very challenging!

Tonight was my first chance to try the season pass. I may skip Tiger all together based on my experience. Again I have been so busy I really haven't digested much of what is going on some perhaps people can lend me a hand.

1. WTF is my tempo always slow, what am I doing wrong?

2. Why on half my putts when I push forward does the putter stop and not hit the ball.

3. Why when I set the shot type to pitch or chip can I still chip the ball 60 yards?

4. Back to putting I just can't get a feel on anything I am ramming balls by the cup.

I was very frustrated after just 2 rounds and switched it off.

Most of your questions have been answered in this thread, however...

1. You need to make sure you ram the stick forward prior to the meter getting all the way back in the backswing. If you wait til the meter is all the way back in the backswing, you have waited too long and your tempo will be slow. This takes some practice.

2. Same reason as above. Try turning the meters off and guage your backswing based upon the putter head and clubhead. Again, this takes practice. This Tiger plays nothing like prior TW games.

3. Depending on difficulty level, the game gives you a swing meter that shows the full shot potential of the club and type of shot you are trying to execute. If your club potential is 80 yards the meter will show that entire potential. If your shot is only 40 yards and you are in the pitch shot type, then you need to consider that in your backswing and only hit at 50% or less in the swing arc. The Augusta National Practice facility is a good place to learn how to hit shots properly.

4. You have to take into account the green speed and slope. If you have a 20' putt and it is level, set your aiming mareker at 18' or so and hit a full putt. Again, this takes time to master, much more so than prior Tiger games. It helps a great deal if you have the time to invest in practicing. If not, then you probably are going to remain frustrated with the game.

I had to go to our Country Club page within the game to view the tournament scores. I had thought we would be able to view the club scores on the website, but I don't see an option for it. The messages I've posted on the club's message board were done from within the game. I think you hit "Y" to post a message. I use my textpad attachment to type messages, but take it off for game action. It doesn't allow me to grip the controller like I'd want with it attached.

I hope EA Sports can add the ability to view the club's scores via the Country Club website on the internet. It certainly sounds like they planned to with the early pub I read about it.

I get closer to getting the most distance using the method Tim's already posted, but I've yet to even reach perfect in the Season Ticket version. I managed to hit it a couple of times in the demo. It's frustrating, but I've just conceded and club up one club and it usually offsets my slow tempo. I don't like having to ram the stick like a madman in a game that is supposed to be based on tempo. I would pull top a shot in real life if I put the proportional swing tempo to what the stick movement requires for "perfect" tempo in this game. I'm really disappointed with the way they've approached it, but my adaptation of living with slow tempo at least restores something more like a flowing tempo.
2. Why on half my putts when I push forward does the putter stop and not hit the ball.
I have a problem with this also, but as I've stated earlier in this thread, I've turned the game into Tiger Woods 10 Precision Putting by always extending the targeting cursor out to 80 feet, once I've aimed where I want to direct the putt. I then put a proportional stroke on the putt and go by feel. It's not as smooth and as proportional as Tiger 10, but it works well enough to give me the touch that TSC putting takes out of game, IMO.
3. Why when I set the shot type to pitch or chip can I still chip the ball 60 yards?
I haven't had much time to play the game myself, and this is something I'm still not qualified to answer. I'm just now beginning to get an inkling of how this is implemented.
4. Back to putting I just can't get a feel on anything I am ramming balls by the cup.
Try my Precision Putting Recovery method and see if that doesn't play like something you're more familiar with.

It blows my mind that people accept this. The gameplay has become horrible at the time I expected EA to go on a run of fantastic games. It also cements the fact that there is probably no reason for EA or anyone else to make a golf game I like, because I feel like I am alone in my assessments.
You are not alone.

Thanks for the response. I thought you were able to see scores and post from a computer.. bummer. To be honest, I still haven't been able to find tournament scores even in the game from withing the OCC interface. Some call me clueless. :P

Anyway, the more time I spend with this game the more I really am enjoying it. So far for my CAG career (online / offline / quickplay) I've hit approximately 74% of fairways. I'm fine with that. If I want to go out and hack a round in the mid to upper 90's I'll just grab my real clubs. :)

What level is everyone playing on?

I cannot help BUT hit the fairway whether it's using Kinect or the pad. I make Jim Furyk look like John Daly.

I'm using my Created Golfer so maybe that's the issue. I haven't used any of the Pro's yet so maybe that's why I'm not batting a thousand. I play on Tournament difficulty with all aids and grids turned off, UNLESS I'm playing some of the easy daily XBL tourneys. I play those for the sole purpose of scoring better and earning XP to improve my CAG.

Playing on Tournament so essentially everything is off. Keep in mind I have only played 2 rounds but I think I hit maybe 50% of the fairways on that level with umm...WTF is his name having a brain cramp. The kid who dresses all in orange puma crap.

I read some of the impressions and I can't help it...it sounds like this to me: "This game is crap because it doesn't make me suck enough!" lol

If I wanted to suck at golf, I'd just go grab my dusty clubs and head to the nearest course...

Tournament level with expert swinging with my created player. I want it that way for my PRO and built him from scratch. I don't always hit it straight, but It's been discussed several times here how rather easy it is to hit FIR no matter what level I think. Maybe don't use a PRO? Personally, I want to get better at my tempo and putting than thinking that I hit yet another fairway. Having said that, in yesterday's online tourney in Hawaii with the high gutsy winds of up 38 mph, trying to hit it straight was definitely a challenge as my +14 score would indicate.

Well, no. I suck plenty enough thanks to my blacksmith touch around the greens. But if every tee shot hits the fairway, kinda makes a lot of the other parts of the game (the pins, the stats, etc) a shade pointless imo.

JC the daily you set up yesterday wanted me to pull my hair out. Its not that the settings were difficult but I could not make a putt to save my life. I was pin high every whole and made NOTHING!! The greens are very undulating and cant imagine flags on expert!

And to think that he mentioned, 'Nothing too fancy just the average conditions on tournament difficulty'. Yeah, that was a good challenge, I just could not read the greens at all yesterday, good for you to score a -2.
