And the ball has to be bigger than "normal" or else you wouldn't be able to see the damn thing.
All points that I couldn't care less about and in fact, expect them from a portable.
And why exactly isn't this in the Show thread?

Kinda expected for a hand held. I usually play with the presentations on and FF through things I don't want to see. From what I've seen of clips of the Vita game it looks fine. I'll be very surprised if I'm disappointed with the game but it is possible. I'm sure Tuesday is going to be a fun day. Looking forward to it!sportdan30 wrote:Not reading real favorable impressions of The Show on the Vita yet.
- Graphics are hit or miss, some quite unforgiveable looking
- Ball looks like a beach ball until it is handled by the player
- Quick play takes a lot away from the presentation
- Because of quick play, exciting plays such as homeruns, double plays, etc feel rather meh. Just back to
the game without any commentary.
Sorry, Rod, somehow missed this. My PSN name is the same as my forum name.Rodster wrote:Scoop let me know if you want to try a game via Wifi?ScoopBrady wrote:After toying with the demo for several days I had to pick up FIFA. I am very impressed with it. As a married man with 2 kids and limited gaming time the Vita allows me more time to play console-quality games and that makes me quite happy. This is the handheld I have been waiting for and one that any serious gamer would want to consider.
If you do PM me your PSN name.

Wow, that's cool. I was really looking forward to that game and was prepared to pay for it. Free makes it even better.ScoopBrady wrote:Motorstorm doesn't come out until tomorrow. Thanks for the news, Dan. I was going to pick it up this week anyway and now it will be free.
Great to hear that you are impressed with the game. I think the PSP versions of BlazBlue look really nice, so I'm sure the Vita version is drop dead gorgeous as you say. Arakune is a real pain IMO to fight against, so it's good that you are going to learn him first. The characters are actually interesting in BlazBlue, which makes the game even that much more fun. The load times being fast is great news to hear and may speed up my buying of the game and leaving the PSP ones behind. Hopefully the game is as massive as people are saying.fanatic wrote:toonarmy - I picked up BlazBlue for the Vita yesterday. I'm not a veteran of the series, but I've always liked the art style and the fact that it's a 1vs1 fighter (I like the simplicity, although BlazBlue and simplicity should never be used in the same sentence together).
First off, the game is drop dead gorgeous. Like Rayman on the Vita, you sometimes get distracted by how everything just pops off the screen.
I'm really finding it to be a great game to play in short spurts. It loads up real fast, so you can train for 5 minutes if you want, do a few challenges, or just play a quick match.
I also love how each character is completely unique - That blob-like character, Arakune looks fun, so I'm going to try to learn him first I think.
Took a break from the Show to play this game. Pretty cool little title. The control is taking some getting used to, but I am loving the speed of the cars and the graphics.Rodster wrote:Motorstorm RC is now available via search, 650MB download.
I'm also loving the home console feel of the Vita. I could definitely see myself playing sports titles on the Vita more often, and leaving the Mass Effects, etc...for my PS3. Finally, a good life balance! (I'll fine tune my career, marriage, etc...later).RallyMonkey wrote:Ok, maybe we can chalk it up to "the newest thing", but give me The Show, Madden 13, NBA 2K13, and god willing/orgasm inducing NHL 13 on this thing and my 360 may never get turned on again.
Just to add, having the ability to play during the day (lunch, commute, etc) allows for less gaming late at night. If I can get in an hour or two of gaming a day, I'm happy.fanatic wrote:I'm also loving the home console feel of the Vita. I haven't picked The Show up yet, but I'm wondering if I might be ok with just the Vita version (for the reasons you stated).sportdan30 wrote:Just to add, having the ability to play during the day (lunch, commute, etc) allows for less gaming late at night. I was very excited of course to come home yesterday to play The Show on our main tv in the family room, however I had my daughter and my wife playfully teasing me about my newest game. To be able to play without distractions at work during lunch is very nice and breaks up the work day as well.
The answer is absolutely. It literally is the console game minus a few presentation tweaks so if gaming on the smaller screen all the time is okay, then by all means. You can't go wrong with it.fanatic wrote:I haven't picked The Show up yet, but I'm wondering if I might be ok with just the Vita version (for the reasons you stated).
I'm sure it would be nice to play on the big screen late at night, but that time is pretty limited....
Thanks - something to think about for sure.dbdynsty25 wrote:The answer is absolutely. It's good. But not GREAT!. The Vita version is much improved over PSP'10 and PSP'11 but it definitely didn't blow me away. The graphics are a definite upgrade but gameplay feels a bit the same. But then again if you're a big PSP MLB fan you'll likely be OK with it. I've played ~10 games so far.fanatic wrote:Thanks - something to think about for sure.dbdynsty25 wrote:The answer is absolutely.
