I don't think they are labeled as "official". I just saw something that looked like Sony's naming convention with a lot of downloads and grabbed that one.Brando70 wrote:Quick question for a dumb ass: How do you download the updated rosters? Had my first real significant glitch yesterday. Thankfully, it was just an exhibition game or I would have been a little upset. My SS over threw first base, and all you saw was the ball being followed up in to the stands, and then the screen went black. Though, you could still see little box showing the running rounding first, then second, third, and home! Over throw and inside the park home run?

I've got a few gripes with this game now that I am well over 20 games into my season. It may just be me, but I sense some kind of catchup AI in place. It's uncanny how whenever I have a 2 or 3 run inning the computer comes back and has a rally of their own. I was winning 8-1 and had struck out 10 guys thru 6 innings. Beckett had a lot of energy left and his confidence was very high. They started turning on pitches they shouldn't have been able to hit and they were driving them like Pujols does to a fastball down the middle of the plate. My biggest complaint is the number of times the catcher for the AI drops a 3rd pitch swinging strike. I swung over a fastball just above the knees for strike 3, but the catcher somehow let it get thru his legs. This happens damn near every single game and it's cheap, even if I am the one getting the runner on base. I don't feel that it's realistic at all, so when it happens and it's obviously a glitch I just send the runner on the first pitch so he's thrown out stealing. I don't want to win due to a glitch. I saw a funny glitch last night. Pedroia is up and hits a double down the left field line. The left fielder gets "stuck" in the wall and just sits there. The 3rd baseman had to come out and get the ball and throw it back to the cutoff man. I love the game, but there are a few things that need to be fixed for 11. Hudler needs to be gone asap, he's brutal. "That was a pearl!!" I have a few guys who are hot and a few cold. How do you get a cold player hot again? Will sitting him for a game or 2 help, or does he need to get some hits first?

fletch: funny how times change. When it opened in 1989 it was the state-of-the-art stadium. Peeps raved of the facilities it had, the hotel in CF, etc. Anyway, if the organization wishes to change their outlook, they may wish to revert back to their former powder blue uniforms/logo etc. The current ones suckfletcher21 wrote:Now that the Twins have moved out of the Metrodome I think it's safe to say that Skydome has assumed the role of the ugliest stadium in MLB. As long as they keep showing people fornicating in center field...I'm all for every stadium having a hotel in the outfield. When AZ put in the pool and spa back in the mid 90's I had high high hopes. Alas...nothing ever came of it. So to speak.vinny-b wrote:fletch: funny how times change. When it opened in 1989 it was the state-of-the-art stadium. I think Oakland's is a close second. I just finished a three-game series there. It doesn't look too bad in the daylight with the sun shining, but at night it's depressing. No wonder they play so many day games there.fletcher21 wrote:Now that the Twins have moved out of the Metrodome I think it's safe to say that Skydome has assumed the role of the ugliest stadium in MLB. They need to blow up all those symmetrical, concrete donuts from the '60s/'70s/'80s.
This cracked me up...Alfonso Soriano doing his best Jose Canseco impression:

Three games in and I am really enjoying the gameplay. Had a good 4-3 win over the Brewers where I hit five doubles, then when I think the CPU is having trouble hitting off me, the Rockies pasted me for 16 hits and 8 runs. Hopefully they'll patch some of the franchise issues by the time the week 1 rosters get released.

Replay view. I played an exhibition against the Rockies, and Soriano gave Todd Helton an assist on that 2-run homer. It was funny, because I got a good jump on the ball and was right at the marker, but the ball just hit Soriano in the back and bounced over the wall. After the play, Matt Vasgersian said something like, "What in the Jose Canseco just happened?"vinny-b wrote:lol
Brando: were you playing as Soriano in RTTS mode? Or was that simply the replay view?

Started my Cards season last night with a close win over the Reds 2-0.
Harang pitched six innings of one run ball along with 9 strikeouts. They took him out after the sixth which kind of surprised me. I wonder if they didn't let him pitch as long because it was the first game of the season. He had only thrown around 80 pitches. Hope this isn't a common occurrence.
Carpenter on the hand struggled through 7, working deep in to counts. I walked four (on classic pitching...love it!) and struck out four. I really could only count on his fastball and slider to be effective. His curve and circle change were all over the place.
Has anyone noticed that you get very slight confidence boosts with your reliever on the warm up pitches?
If you keep your reliever warming up for more than an inning and a half, his endurance does ineeed go down (the red bar), but he stays warm. There is an option that you could bring your reliever in the game and he would be automatically warm. I chose not to play with this option on though.
It can't be said enough that being able to select your skill level with pitching and hitting is one of the best additions to this year's game. I really believe without this feature, I would be frustrated and not be able to complete a season.
Can't wait to play game two tonight!

Seriously, I think he did, but I couldn't go back and hear it again. I was so confused at first, because I saw the ball reach Soriano and then keep going. I thought he just made an error, but there was this red marker on the other side of the wall, which indicated where the deflected ball was going to land. While I was going "WTF?" Vasgersian made his comment, and I'm almost positive he made a Canseco reference, because after he said it and I saw Helton rounding the bases, I figured out what happened -- I thought it was a ground-rule double at first.vinny-b wrote:no he didn't.Brando70 wrote:After the play, Matt Vasgersian said something like, "What in the Jose Canseco just happened?"![]()

It's normal. During the first month of the season once a pitcher makes it to the 6th inning Campbell will say something like "and I am surprised they're leaving him out there this long since guys arms are not totally stretched out yet." I left Beckett out there for 8 innings and ~100 pitches in my first start. After the game I got a message saying he was experiencing arm soreness, no doubt due to overwork from me lol. He was fine, though.sportdan30 wrote:Started my Cards season last night with a close win over the Reds 2-0.

That's funny because I was working at the game when that really happened and it was the same thing, everyone was confused, nobody really knew what had just happened. Old Cleveland Stadium didn't have a video board like all the parks have now. And we were near home plate so it was quite a distance from us.Brando70 wrote:I was so confused at first, because I saw the ball reach Soriano and then keep going. I remember a fan near us with a radio said the radio guys were saying the TV replay showed it bounced off his head and went over the fence. We were all like, "Yeah, right!"

UGH it happened again!! I just finished a 14 inning game at Toronto where I gave up a walkoff HR to Lind. After the hr, they put up the graphic of him being the player of the game and then the disc froze up on me. I just lost well over an hour of playtime and have to play that game yet again. I am starting to get really angry here. This is the 4th game I have had freeze up on me where I was forced to shut off the PS3. I may have to start saving games after the 5th inning because this is bullsh*t!

That is beyond frustrating! Does it always happen at the same time (player of the game feature)? I've seen a few other complaints at OS about the freezing, but it doesn't seem to be a common enough occurence as of yet.fletcher21 wrote:UGH it happened again!! I don't think there is any rhyme or reason for why/how it happens, but it seems to me like it happens later in games. If it happened in the 1st or 2nd inning I wouldn't mind much. After playing nearly 75 minutes and losing it all I am a bit angered. I would have gladly taken the loss since it was the final game in the series and I was on the way to Camden yards next, which is a stadium I love and haven't played in yet. Not only that but I went 4-5 with Ortiz and he was cold going into the game. I don't know if I caused the game to freeze by pressing X repeatedly after the game in an attempt to get thru the post game wrap-up stuff. Sucks, but it doesn't happen *too* much yet. I may start saving games in the 5th inning just in case, which is really messed up but may become necessary.sportdan30 wrote:That is beyond frustrating!
