XBox One AND PS4 Discussion

They won't get back into Baseball or Hockey because they said both were money losers and not enough sales. Football, they can't because of EA and the NFL contract. Even EA said Baseball didn't generate enough sales for them.

That's sad.. I would have thought the damn NFL contract would have ran its course by now. Baseball I don't care much about, but for football and hockey.. we need the competition.

Correct. EA got exclusive rights in 2004. Roger the Truth Dodger became commissioner in 2006.

And there's one HUGE reason why it won't be the "Sports Gamer's Console". MLB The Show. End of discussion. You can't be a sports gaming console if you only have 3/4 of the major sports covered.

The Show was a really good game but I probably won't buy it again. Because it's baseball. The games still take too long. I love that quick count feature, but when you use it it takes a lot of the baseball out of the game. I dont know how HH did it back in the day to make baseball a short and quick game, but Sony needs to copy it.

I saw the trailer for DriveClub today and I guess that is Sony's Forza. But this Forza 2 game looks fantastic and it may just push me over the edge to buy XBO. Maybe I wait for BF deals for XBO.

Just a word of warning, make sure you check your XBO when you get it to make sure the disc does not make a loud grinding sound. There are reports of some of the XBO Madden bundle units shipping with this probem. If it's bad, return to the store and get a new one or you have to mail it into MS.

Also if you're picking up from BB, remind them of the UGC promtion they had with the madden bundle. If you get a nice manager or be a hard ass, they may cave in and give it to you since it was part of the in store deal. And technically, you did order while the promotion was valid and you're picking it up in store to get that promotion. Now that UGC is a good deal. 2 year membership that offers you 20 percent off any new game. I know that sounds real good to you pk. So just be a hard ass and get it.

Ive also read they are trying to get rid of so many XB's that some BB's are even throwing in a year of XBL free. It's like buying a car. They want to get the units out of the store, so if you haggle or say you're leaving, they may throw it out there.

Cool. I had a hectic day today and completely missed the deal.

But no worries. I think there's going to be many XBO deals until the end of the year. Seems like they need to do these deals to move the consoles. It's the only play they have at the moment.

Just played Sportsfriends with my son on the PS4 (free game of the month). What a riot that game is! I imagine it would be crazy with 4 players. There's 4 games, but only two that you can play without the Move controllers. He and I never laughed so much while playing these simple but fun games. Great party game for sure.

Question : do you guys think XBOX ONE is turning into the Sports gamers console? EA Access is exclusive to it, and it seems like all the EA games are pretty equal in graphics/gameplay when compared to PS4.

Also, XBO has Forza and their controller is perfect for racers.

I'm finding PS4 is excellent as an all around system, but for someone like me, and maybe some of you, who primarily play Sports games (includes racers), is XBO becoming or is now the premier system for Sports Gamers?

For racers, I'm hoping either Driveclub, The Crew, or Project Cars fills that void of Forza Horizon 2 on the PS4. Surely, one of those racers has to be good! That's the one and only exclusive Xbox One game I'm soooooo wanting to play. My son has a 360, so might have to play the lesser version of Horizon 2 on there. Hopefully, I'll be there on release day for Forza Horizon 3 when the Xbox One prices at under $300.

XBO may not be the sale leader but it is clear for online play here at DSP that should be a major consideration. The guys who play the trumpet the most for the PS4 must not be online gamers because with the exception of Terry I never see anyone online.

A hard lesson I'm learning with Destiny and I can tell you it made my choice easy as to which console I'll buy the division on.

Yeah, DSP online on the PS4 is pretty non-existent. I don't have time or desire to play past 10:00 anymore on the week days. Not to mention, I still would rather play single player games vs. online games. And when I do have the want to play online, there's a s**t ton of great OS guys who are always online. On average, I'm seeing anywhere between 10-20 guys online from OS.

Maybe you guys aren't 'friends' with me online on PS4, but I'm on it quite a bit. Even when I'm playing my career mode in FIFA, I can still be seen online on PSN.

Well, another reason the PS4 is better than the XB1...the NFL DirecTV app. Pair that with the far far superior MLB Extra Innings app, and my reasons for keeping my XB1 are dwindling by the day. The speed, the options...all so much faster in the apps on the PS4. No idea why it's so much better...but it is.

I only have one game and I dont play shooters.

I am sure we will play some Horizon especially now that pk is onboard....and maybe get our GTA V night back when it drops.
