You can challenge 12 men on the field. A penalty challenge.
Let them be able to challenge PI. That is the penalty that seriously needs challenging!!!...Put that in the rules!...That is where these guys fail at an alarming rate....PI. A challenge for PI is need, warranted and damn would be so f***in sweet.

Un be lievable. I know Dallas didn't really play hard (still. . . 1yd. rushing? that would be -2 for the 2nd half. . . ), and actually we would have made the playoffs even if we had lost, thanks to the Bears and the Broncos, but still.
Joe freaking Gibbs. His W-L record in December is absurd. It's nice to have both Moss and Portis healthy finally, too.
It was quite a nice sight near the end of the game to look through the binoculars and see Gibbs smiling and Portis, with one of the #21 towels they handed out to fans for the Bills game on his back, talking to him and giving him a hug, and then Moss shaking his hand and giving him a hug, and then Randle El doing the same, and then Sellers coming off the field shooing him off the chain because the officials had to measure. . . . But it was a great scene, and I think a nice little portrait of this team at this stage. They are a very together team, they really play for each other, they seem to have no individual egos, and man, they really love Joe Gibbs.
Playoffs!

How the hell was that hit on Henry's return not a personal foul? The guy lead with the crown of his helmet and launched himself at Henry. That was probably the hardest hit I've ever seen but I don't think it was legal.

I agree. Led with the crown of the helmet, and hit him in the face. That's supposed to be illegal.ScoopBrady wrote:How the hell was that hit on Henry's return not a personal foul? This is division? Weird division over there, I guess. Shouldn't they hate each other? Strange stuff. Lots of hate mail headed from Cleveland to Indy, I imagine,XXXIV wrote:Tony Dungy call a f***in time out...took lying down like a dog to a new level...embaressing.
Cmon dude..I know you dont care but its just a timeout.

Those guys might be as bad as the Jags board. Some teams always rest their starters if there's nothing to play for; did Jim Kelly ever take a second-half snap in week 16 during the Bills' 90's run?XXXIV wrote:Browns fans getting a bit pissy...
But it would suck to have your team's playoff fate in the collective hands of Jim Sorgi, Luke Lawton, and Craphonso Thorpe in a 2-minute drill.
Well the Browns should have taken care of business. I feel nothing for them. The Colts took care of what matters most...the Colts...That was the right thing to do in my opinion...Dave wrote:Those guys might be as bad as the Jags board. I just wish that Dungy had called a time out and let the game play out all the way. That was just bad.

He even pointed to the crown of his helmet after the hit like he was all proud of himself. To make matters worse he lowered his helmet on him again on a running play shortly afterwards. The refs missed both of them.Zeppo wrote:I agree. Led with the crown of the helmet, and hit him in the face. That's supposed to be illegal.
I tell you, I'm very down on the job referees are doing in the NFL this year. I think they're at an all time low. I saw horrible officiating at Soldier Field again today with a horrible non-call for PI and two horrible PI calls. Then you have the holds going uncalled and I could swear Wale Ogunleye jumped offsides on a key play and it wasn't called. If he wasn't offsides he got the best jump I've seen in a long time. The bottom-line is officiating is getting worse and worse in the NFL.

I agree, Scoop, especially with pass interference and illegal contact, which are just terribly called.
One play that is really starting to bug me is how blockers seem to get a big head start on WR screens, often making contact well before the pass is complete. Maybe it is just because more teams are running them so it is more noticeable, I don't know.

I was just watching Bears highlights from today and noticed that Daniel Manning hit Colston with the crown of his helmet and there was no penalty on the play. Colston even left the game spitting up blood after that hit and didn't return. Just terrible.

If the ball is behind the line of scrimmage, there is no offensive pass interference, by rule.Dave wrote:I agree, Scoop, especially with pass interference and illegal contact, which are just terribly called.

LOL, most suicidal fan base in all of sports. I love the yelling about the Colts handing the game to the Titans -- if I was Dungy, I would much rather play the Titans than face the Browns offense.XXXIV wrote:Browns fans getting a bit pissy...

You also know that either they're going to back the truck up and give a ton of money to Derek Anderson, only to find out he's Mark Rypien, or they let him go and he becomes the second coming of Tony Romo somewhere else. Either way, the leg is back and the kick to the collective balls of Cleveland is just a matter of time.
The NFC wild card round this weekend might be the worst collection of teams in playoff history. Todd Collins! Seattle's ineffective rushing attack! Ernest Graham! And the Manning Jr. face! NFL playoff fever -- catch it (unless you're Troy Williamson, in which case you should bat the fever toward Bobby Wade).
