$20? Worth it above the free software floating around?

Well, let me just say that the iPad and porn make a absolutely wonderful pair! Going based off my own personal research, I've been able to access more than a half a dozen free sites. And I'm pretty intrigued to see how fast these videos load on the iPad 2, just for reference sakes of course.

I'm sure the free stuff is fine. I only have the Daniussoft app because it was initially free if you 'liked' them on Facebook.

I see a few apps that are designed to use Facebook on iPad, but I never realized there wasn't an official (Zuckerberg) from Facebook themselves that is optimized for the iPad or tablets in general.

As far as Garage Band, goto Apple's website and watch the keynote from the announcement. They talk about Garage Bandabout 3/4 of the way in. Looks pretty damn cool. Its a $4.99 app.

Wow, that looks awesome. I still couldn't figure out if I need to get a special attachment to plug my guitar or bass in or if there's a port I can plug in with just a simple 1/4" to 1/8" converter like I can with my PC.

Anyone have any idea what time Apple.com is starting to take preorders tomorrow? I have heard their stores start selling it at 5pm but no info on the website store.

Does anybody know if other stores have to wait until 5:00 p.m. to start selling or will they be selling when they open tomorrow?

Companies are playing this game now, to do big launches, get lines, for PR effect.

Apple allowed preorders for a week before the VZ launch and lines weren't a problem. They could have done the same for iPad 2.

Console launches can be excused because they're once every 5 years so they can't have a regular process in place.

Apple Store called my boss and asked him if he wanted any iPad 2's. He ordered a few and can go in at 5pm and avoid the lines and get them "discreetly".

For once I will agree with WCO, this is all for effect. Wait until Monday, stroll into any store and buy one.

"AT&T and Verizon have also issued press releases announcing availability for tomorrow. In line with Apple's plans, AT&T will begin taking online orders at 1:00 AM Pacific Time, with in-store availability set for 5:00 PM local time. Verizon appears to only be offering in-store sales at "select" retail stores beginning at 5:00 PM local time." via macrumors.com

Mossberg's review said battery life is good, not as good as the original.

And the cameras are poor quality, probably more like the iPod Touch than the iPhone 4.

Well you don't expect to take good snapshots with a big tablet but it would be nice to be able to accurately scan barcodes, maybe scan some documents and do the video chat thing.

For the ipad/iphone bargain shopper;
http://appshopper.com/ipad/

This site is going to cost me a lot of money, $1 at a time.

I am loathe to pay more than $1 for games, but when "premium" games are put on sale at that price, I can't help myself.

James:

That graphic is missing the most important statistic, the one that will keep Apple at the front of the tablet field -- price.

Ummm...wrong, but whatever. Xoom 32gb (with MicroSD expandability up to 32gb more) wifi only version will be $529 (allegedly) and it's also missing from that little graphic completely (probably because it does quite a bit more than the iPad does, and who would want to put apple to shame in print form)...Apple doesn't touch that price.

Now, had you said "hype" or "marketing", absolutely...THAT is what puts apple and will keep apple at the front of the field. :D

Bigger lines here than for VZN iPhone. That's for sure.

I'd file "$529(allegedly)" under: believe it when I see it.

Worst case is $599...so still, price not a deciding factor since it's the same. So what is your point exactly?
