Meh.

It seems to be a negotiating ploy, because the City won't pony any money up, even though it would make sense to have a new stadium for a future Olympics bid as well as get future SuperBowls.

Their Santa Clara headquarters is 50 miles south, close to where I live. But there really isn't land here either. At least not cheap land.

They mentioned Santa Clara or some other CA city but they probably haven't talked to any other city yet. They have two more seasons on their lease at Candlestick or whatever they're calling it.

The city wouldn't pay for the Giants new stadium, and it's a big success now, revitalizing what was once a dead part of the city. But there isn't a whole lot of support to succumb to blackmail by sports teams.

Another thriller between the Seahawks and Rams. Not too many people gave Seattle a chance after they lost to the Bears in week 3-4, even less with the injuries to Hasselbeck and Alexander.

Key touchdown was the 90 yards punt return by N. Burleson when everyone thought he was going to call for a fair catch. J. Brown was as cool as a cucumber.

The Rams gave away those 15 yds on the ko allowing the Hawks to start that drive on Rams 49.

Rams always seem to find away to lose....They have no discipline.

The better team did win...Grats to all Non Packer(TRUE) Seahawk fans!

Especially when they went for the 2 point conversion at the end of the game. Number 68 is not so "Incognito" after being called twice for a penalty.

That was some of the worst coaching I've seen from Scott Linehan. He lost the game for the Rams.

Damn Lindell!

Probably wouldn't have mattered, anyway. Even if Lindell made the field goal, there's almost no question Indy would have marched down the field in six minutes either for a field goal or TD to win.

The Bills knew Indy was going into clock-control mode to preserve the victory, and their defense still couldn't get a stop so the offense could get one final crack at a win.

Bummer.

Good thing Lindell choked...I had Indy as my survivor pick. Another person lost (picked Jax) so it's me and two other guys...playing for 500 bucks. Thank you Buffalo.

Big win for Chicago. Home field is there's to lose. Still some question marks (run defense, Grossman), but I liked how they regrouped and turned it on for the last half of the game.

I think right now the only team in the NFC that deserves a playoff spot is the Bears.. everyone else just sucks.

Chargers played like crap, still found a away to in. 7-2 is their best start since 1994.

Yesterday was the first I've seen the Saints play this year and they look like a team that could do something come playoff time.

Why is it OK to hit a QB in the lower leg if you make the sack (last NO sack of Ben) and a penalty when you grab his ankle and don't (Aaron Smith)? It's still a hit to the leg, isn't it? I'm still confused on the roughing the passer calls. It's OK to hit a QB in the knee if it's combined with another player hitting him in the head and giving him a concussion?

A good rule of thumb for NFL refs: if the QB only has to pull up his socks after a "hit" then it's probably not a penalty.

Hmmm, so everyone else gets a "grats" but not me? Waahhhh, I'm so upset.

I was going to stay quiet and not rub it in, but you just couldn't let things be and had to get in yet another cheap dig at me. Not that it matters. I've got 30-28 and 24-22 to keep me happy for the rest of year

I wouldn't count the Seahawks or the Saints out. Seattle is doing what good teams do, gutting out wins while waiting for their injured stars to return. They should be able to beat San Fran without either player if necessary, and will probably have both back at least by the Green Bay game.

New Orleans has got the firepower to beat anyone. If they could shore up their run defense, they would be pretty formidible.

The Eagles are also a team that's much more talented than their records says.

There really are no teams that seem unbeatable this year. Every contender has flaws, and there are about 10 teams that could win it all without really surprising me.

I would take the Bears ,Colts,Broncos,Patriots,Ravens and the Chargers to go along with The Rams.....

1) Seahawks
2) Packers
3) Anyone playing the Rams

#3 pretty much ensures I'll be happy most weeks

I do count out the Seahawks and the Saints...Im not so sure the seahawks arent better with Wallace?....and the Saints are inexperienced.

The Eagles or maybe even the Cowboys (if the mental case keeps it together) are the only teams I would worry about as a Bear fan( im one now that I know I can have many favorite teams).

I agree that every contender has flaws...but Im pretty sure one of the 7 teams I listed earlier will win the SB...

p.s...........What the hell happened to the Bengals?

Who do you root for when the Packers and Seahawks play?

Anyways, yeah NFC is flawed but we've only played half the season. The formula for who will contend will depend on key injuries at the end of the season. It's also possible one of these flawed teams will get hot, as the Steelers did last year.

AFC just looks so much stronger. Again.

But there's still a lot of football to play.

Seahawks are #1. It used to work out better back when Seattle was in the AFC because they'd hardly ever meet.

I only have one favorite team. I root for the Packers because I've grown up with them, so there's a natural alligence to them. I know this is not a difficult thing for *most* people to comprehend.

I totally agree. The Bears have their flaws, and it's a Chicago sports tradition to cry the sky is falling whenever things get a little shaky, but looking around the league, I like our chances as much as anyone's.
