You know, as stripped bare as the next-gen version is, people may just get bored with online HUT and VS mode despite the improved gameplay and eventually trade it for the 360. I can see that happening.

I think Dragons sooner or later will be back before the 16 version.

I would have probably bought Madden and FIFA but I cant stomach their bullshit at all. I know they wont miss my money but f***in A, I would miss it.... Needs to go towards human beings with balls.

I was going to go with the Kinectless bundle also but since having bought the Forza Kinect bundle and messing with it for a little over a week now I love it, have it set up to turn on/off the tv and audio system and it works great with both tv and gaming and I am glad I decided to get it instead of waiting until later to pick it up as an accessory.

I could care less about the TV functions. I have a Harmony remote, and it works great. I could care less about gaming while watching TV, so Snap and all that jazz mean nothing to me. I could care less about using my body as a controller. Owned a Wii -- been there, done that, got older than Grandpa's buckskin rubber. I could care less about voice commands. A controller takes what, an extra 10 seconds?

So I'll save the $100 and use it toward games. Maybe I'll buy a Kinect as an add-on in the future if MS can prove it's essential for core gameplay of non-Kinect games. Otherwise, it's a glorified TV and Xbox remote.

If Kinect was so essential to the One experience, why did MS relent and produce a Kinectless SKU for the One?

I will also chime in and say that I regret not getting the Kinect version of the One. I dont even have HDTV/Cable of any kind anymore, so its not because of the TV stuff. There are a lot of options, for example, recording your gaming with the DVR, that is just a pain in the ass without the Kinect. You can do it, and I have learned how, but it would be much simpler and more intuitive with Kinect. I have also found weird things, like speculation from the Thrustmaster technical support, that the problems I have had with their TX Wheel and Forza 5 are related to me not having Kinect. It was never confirmed mind you, but apparently the peripheral does look for it being present. One tech support guy actually said, "Why would you not have the Kinect, the base architecture of the UI is completely built around it, you are shooting yourself in the foot by not having it." Of course, I said well because MS sold it that way. Anyway, I still don't have a Kinect, and I still am enjoying the One without it, so knowing you Paul, my guess is you can survive without it too, but as soon as I can find one for less than $100 I will be adding it back. I can't wait for Forza Horizon 2, and Project Cars just announced official release date of 11/18/2014 so there will be good racing to have on the One.

DC i was just coming on here to ask if you ever got the wheel sorted without the kinect. Im buying this week, forza edition and im getting the wheel pretty soon here as well hopefully and the 100 bucks saving with a kinectless one would go a long way towards the wheel.

I've had my Kinect unplugged on a shelf since late early December and haven't missed it as far as gaming goes. Only when I want to do the "XBox Record That" thing, but even that is rare.

I haven't had any issues with the TX Wheel, either, Don--so I'm not sure what that's about, as I've always used mine without the Kinect.

Jimmy, definitely use the money towards the wheel. I do not believe that it was the lack of Kinect at all. I mentioned it mainly due to the odd speculation from tech support. I actually have the wheel working pretty well now after reapplying the firmware updates. Well, outside of a deadzone and slight pull to the right in Forza 5 that I can't get rid of. It is really awesome force feedback in Forza 5, and I have actually loved in for PC racing as well. In fact, I am using it now for iRacing instead of the Logitech G27. I wish the pedals were a little better, but I am not good enough to feel the difference. (** Agan props to Mix for the good deal I got on the TX wheel and wheel stand pro **)

Terry, when you get a chance would you be willing to post your FOrza 5 in game settings? Do you change the wheel lock range per car you are racing, and do you uise the in-game setting, or the buttons on the wheel to change it? Thanks in advance.

I don't change crap. I lowered FF quite a bit, though. I haven't played Forza 5 in a while, but I'll take a look at it. I DO know that there were major issues if you connected the wheel without doing the firmware update to start with, but I figured Thrustmaster's tech team would have jumped on that immediately. I helped resolve that for a buddy myself, and I don't even work for them

Once I got the FF to feel right, I wasn't left monkeying with the wheel lock. I'm also only racing offline, so it's not like I was trying to find every ounce of speed on a car/track combo to beat somebody. I'll fire it up tonight to see what I've got, though. Everything should be stock except for FF.

Cool, thanks. I actually have it working close to my liking now, I just can't get rid of the dead zone and this slight pull to the right. I have none of that on the PC when I use it there. I tend to spend way too much time trying to dial in my wheel/ff settings. I would be better off putting in some actual practice laps.

I started experiencing the random PS4 eject disc bug over the past weekend. I was about to blame my kids but my media room has a electronic lock on it that only the wife and I know.... so they are always in here supervised.. Glad I did some research on it first before blaming them.

I would find my Madden disk sitting on the floor, which didn't make me happy. This happened a few times before I knew something had to happen with the PS4. It made it worse when I found out the PS4 didn't want to accept the disk being reinserted. Pretty annoying.

Same thing happened to me when I was trying to insert Wolfenstein. The PS4 wasn't accepting the disc then after 20 minutes the game locked up then I had a crash to desktop and the disc was ejected. I thought it might be just that disc. I guess not.

Is there a cause i.e. bad drive?
