After messing with the user control and consistency sliders, I don't think you have much to worry about here, Slumber. Though I have only played a couple of games with these sliders reduced, it hasn't really made that much of a difference. Hitting inside and outside is a little tougher, but it doesn't really affect those slips down the middle (strikes) you get when your thumb goes straight up and down. And the CPU certainly hasn't become an offensive juggernaut or anything.

I actually noticed very little difference at all with both sliders down 3, so I'd recommend giving them some tinkering if you are looking to get more walks. Don't worry overmuch about adjusting cpu hitting. I didn't touch it, and it didn't really affect the game much at all for me.

I enjoy the 2k11 pitching quite a bit, and might call it more challenging, engrossing, entertaining, etc...

But intuitive is not an adjective I would use with the motions you need to execute in order to throw a pitch.

I mean, 12-6 curveball? It's a 45 degree downward deflection followed by a 270 degree circular rotation, of course! Duh, what else would it be?

It's intuitive when you compare it to the analog controls of The Show. :)

Monoprice is great for cables, but the shipping can kill you if you don't have a large order.

Now that you have a PS3, you simply must treat yourself to Uncharted and then Uncharted 2, two of the absolute best games on any platform, ever, and not to be missed. Other than those and The Show, I think Infamous is the only other game I've played on my looking am looking forward to the Ico /Shadow of the Collossus re-release pack (never got the chance to play Shadow) and their new game as well.

monoprice seconded...

Also, am just now working through (among my immense backlog) the Uncharted's and I agree, simply great games with fantastic set pieces. Great action, great voice work and graphics on par with the best out there...

In addition to the ICO pack, personally am going back to the GoW roots as I'd never played 2 or 3 either...

I hit for the cycle last night as Tyler Colvin of the Cubs. Here is how it went down.

1st at bat he hits a double down the left field line. 2nd at bat a routine triple.

6th inning 3rd at bat I am down 2-1 to the Diamond backs. Colvin hits one to center that is misplayed and I get him on his horse and he hits an inside the park home run! He beat the throw to the plate easily. I was pretty excited by that, I didn't realize he had wheels like that.

8th inning he comes up again, I had no idea the cycle was in play until the announcers said something about it. I hit a shot to right field that gets over the guys head, he seemed to be playing shallow. It sips into the corner and I'm going for it no matter what. I wish I could say it was a close play but the throw wasn't even online and if it was i would of been safe.

Anyway the game was in hand at that point being up 3-1 but it was fun none the less.

Wow.. is this ever a good game! It certainly lives up to its reputation.

In my first game I lost 3-1 to the twins, giving up a two run double in the eigth. Fun, fun stuff.

Ever since the upgrade, I dominate on Veteran offensively....before the upgrade all games for me were close. Now I'm scoring runs left and right and hitting 6 home runs a game. I moved up to All Star and I'm struggling at the plate. I need a mix in between but so far haven't had any luck with messing with the sliders. Should I leave it on veteran and then lower some of the human sliders or leave it on All Star and raise human sliders until I get comfortable? Thoughts?

I'm pretty sure there are built-in streaks in this game, which is awesome. I've had times when I thought I wasn't walking enough, and in the next game I walk 7 times. Or there are too few doubles, then I hit 6 in the next game. Thought I was hitting too many HRs, then I go 5 games without one. All on default All-Star.

Point is, give it a while before you decide the game needs this or that adjustment.

I'm starting to get frustrated. After going 0-16 on All-Star, I gave up and started a new season on Veteran and I'm 0-8. I don't want to even start messing with sliders. My team stats seem halfway decent, considering I'm using the Tribe. Apparently I just suck.

Last night I was excited because I was winning 4-0 in the seventh at Seattle, my starter was rolling, I thought for sure I was going to get my first win, then all of a sudden the Mariners turn into the '27 Yankees and I lose 7-4. Plus there was a couple of weird errors that almost gave the game a scripted feel, like in Madden.

All I know is if I hear Soup say one more time, "You hate to call any game in April a 'must win', but this team would really like to get their first win", I'm going to throw my friggin' controller through the TV. :D

I'm 5-3 in a short 14 game season with the Tribe(tied for 1st in the wild card), offense has been paltry, pitching has been great...my losses are 6-0 1-0 and 5-4. Beat King Felix 6-5 for my signature win. Just lost to Balt. and now run the gauntlet with Bos,-Tampa-NYY,and Tor. before getting the Central with Minn. and Chi. W. Sox. Got my work cut out for me.
I'm on All Star default, with the only adjustments being I've turned off check swings(you can still go too far on swings though)which can extend at bats, there by getting some better pitches later in the count, and I turned off variable umpire calls, going for the calls to be called accurate. (Here again it seems corners get missed occasionally). Oh,and I'm a button man all around. The 55 yr old digits just don't move as quick as they used to

That's impressive, Snaz. Let's just hope the real Tribe's season looks more like your season in The Show, as opposed to mine. Although I FINALLY got my first win last night! Only took three weeks. :D

I'm pretty sure that 19 games (10-9 record) into my season, I'm convinced that this is the best sports game I've ever played. It's followed closely by NBA 2k11 so it's been an awesome year, but holy crap, this game is so good. There, I said it.

Any Indians fans know how keen the Indians are to trade Sizemore in the game this year? I played as the Twins last year and made a trade of Denard Span, Delmon Young and a relief pitcher for Sizemore. Sizemore led the league in home runs, obp, doubles, average and rbi for me. Needless to say, I am a big Sizemore fan and hope to acquire him again this year lol.

He is in the final year of his contract with a team option in 2012 at 8.5 million. He can buyout at 500k. He is DL'd to start this season, and didn't play much last year so unless he hammers it,not sure if Cle can get rid of him. After trading CC. and Cliff Lee in their walk years,I would be surprised if they didn't unload him,if they thought they could get something for him. As much as I like Grady,if I was the Tribe GM, I would jump on your offer.
