Air Video is exactly what I am hoping to see. Streaming video files from PC/Mac to iPad (and iPhone). Now I am really tempted to get an iPad (mostly for my wife since she would love it) and I get to browse/play some games.
I am contemplating between the 16/32 gig. It is $100 difference, not sure if I need the 32 gig...

Seriously, JRod is right. Plants vs Zombies will destroy your productivity as its damn addictive and fun. Can anyone recommend anything else like it?JRod wrote:Don't buy Plants v Zombies! You've been warned. Stayed up til 2:30 last night playing this stupid game.

I wouldn't get anything less than a 32. With the apps coming down the pipeline and more ability to to store things on the iPad I think the 16 GB will get cramped early. I think they are like the 4GB original iphones. My .02 though.WillHunting wrote:Air Video is exactly what I am hoping to see. Streaming video files from PC/Mac to iPad (and iPhone). Good call. I can't believe all the Bestbuys here are completely sold out. They have a 18 month financing I could have taken advantage of.JRod wrote: I wouldn't get anything less than a 32. Sigh, I guess I will check out the Apple store, there are 4 of them in Manhattan, one of them got to have one.

Thanks for the tip on Air Video. My daughter will love that for her iPod Touch. Something like Air Video also would be very cool for the iPad and make it more of a useful piece of hardware.

I believe there's some kind of a backlog with receiving the screens from the manufacturer, or something along those lines. This is why the European launch has been delayed, for example.WillHunting wrote:Good call. I can't believe all the Bestbuys here are completely sold out. Both iPad and iPhone mentioned in this "Adobe/Apple beef" article.

They are already getting a discount from the exchange rate.F308GTB wrote:Was at a conference in San Francisco and one of the attendees was from Spain. He went home with 4 64gb iPads. He's taking the gamble they'll work with the networks over there, and if so, he'll make out as the price in Europe will be 35% more than US.

Will,
If you reserve one from the Apple Store, you'll have one within two to three business days. I reserved on last weekend, and got a call on Tuesday. I had already found one at Best Buy by that time however.
Apparently, the Apple Ipad cases are just as hard to find as the Ipads. Luckily, I was able to reserve one of their last two at the store near me. Can't wait to get home and see how it fits and helps with the overall comfort level.

I can absolutely confirm this. I had to call four apple stores and five best buys in my area until finally i got a Best Buy that had one left and held it for me.Apparently, the Apple Ipad cases are just as hard to find as the Ipads.
I'm very glad i did because, while durable, i just felt better having something on it and it's just more comfortable to tote around with the case. I'm sure down the road some company will make a case i like more, but for now this is perfect.

Well, mine arrived so I ran home at lunch and unboxed it/synced it. I didn't get a chance to play with it at all so I'll have to post impressions later. The damn thing looked slick!Diablo25 wrote:My 64 gb WiFi iPad will be in my possession tomorrowI won't get a chance to mess with it until around 7 pm though. I have a baseball game after school tomorrow. I'll post my impressions.

Thanks for the tip. I will have to do that soon. Mother's day is coming up and my wife would like this very much (so I can play with it too).sportdan30 wrote:Will,

To the new ipad owners, if you plan to take it out buy protection. Really that's good advice anytime
.
I just had the "oh only on an iPad" moment. I downloaded the stumble upon app. I never really used that widget on firefox but decided to give it a whirl tonight. I found 5 sites that were really cool but within 5 minutes I found a book site and downloaded a gutenberg classic that I was looking for! Not that big of a deal but I wasn't going to read a book on my Mac so all it showed was a convergence of devices similar to what happen on the iPhone.
Beyond the new toy and coolness factor is the everyday use that is shown in simple little ways that aren't possible or in pssible in same effect as a laptop.
Typings still sucks however!
