Open question:
I recently reached my 20 game online milestone giving me 4 more upgrade points for each skill category. If I were to change my player type and reset to stock ability points, would I now have 7 upgrade points to distribute? Or just the original 3 they give you until you play 20 games with that changed character?
I'm pretty much exclusively playing online BAP right now.

I'm loving it too, both online and off. I read somewhere that some people think each game "feels the same", but it doesn't to me anyway.
Playing my Oil franchise, I came up against a strong Penguins squad. They dominated possesion for 2 periods and were up 2-0 only because of great play by Roloson to keep us in it. I fight back to tie it 2-2, and then the Pens took a penalty with a minute left, where we scored with 4 seconds left to win!
Very next game, against the Devils, I had a hell of a time getting through the neutral zone, and getting shots on net (aginst Kevin Weekes!) and through two periods only had about 13 shots.
The one bad thing is I tied the game on a flip dump that simply went over Weekes head.... and he didn't really react. OH well.
Then I scored with 11 seconds left to take THAT game.
Very next night against the Rangers? We had no gas, and got shut out 3-0......
So, maybe if a person is a big hockey fan they can pick up more on some of the subtle differences in the games then someone who isn't, but I think there's enough there for anyone to see you need to change up your style of play every so often to win.....

You can change the specifics of the character as many times as you like and the progress will still be the same. The progress is really linked to your gamertag, so feel free to adjust player type or just redistribute points as needed.Naples39 wrote:Open question:

What, are you going to a sniper or something? Somehow I don't see Defensive Defensman in your future. . . .
Thinking of going sniper because I seem to be better at getting into shooting positions online than setting up others, but I was also considering just resetting so I can distribute my points differently than they are now.Zeppo wrote:You can change the specifics of the character as many times as you like and the progress will still be the same. I don't like playing defense outside of trying to strip a puck carrier or intercept a pass for a quick counter. I always enjoyed flopping around in net in real life though, so I might try some goalie soon.
thanks. I'll give this a try once I do something "replay-worthy".dbdynsty25 wrote:Basically you view your replay...cut it down to size with the convenient controls included in the game...save it...upload it to your EA Sports World account...log in to your EA account...view your videos...post the link in this forum.
Anyone know if there is a way to edit your offline BAP created guy?
I have fighting on "sometimes" and I hate it when I get into a fight because I have to sit for 5 looooooooong minutes on the bench. I can't figure out a way to edit this. Everything looked greyed out. I dont want to start a whole new BAP season.

Has anyone had any long term injuries on their own team during a game that you have played?
I've twice now had guys go down with injuries, only to be perfectly fine at the end of the game and not be injured. The only injury I had that lasted was one from a simmed game.
Also, I got my first boarding call, and the play by play mentioned it's also a game misconduct (which I think is the rule). HOwever, once the 5 minutes was up, Gagner was back on his regular shift????

Got my first major last week. It was a misconduct too but he never came back to the game.Gangrel wrote: Also, I got my first boarding call, and the play by play mentioned it's also a game misconduct (which I think is the rule). Hey fellas my NHL 09 (360) developed hard disk read errors. It works for like 2 minutes and then I get the error message even though the disc is spotless. Any tricks to reviving a disc in that condition? I had thrown away my EB Games receipt so I don't know if they'll exchange it for me.
I might have to trade it in. LOL.

My game did this a couple of weeks ago, every game mode in NHL would give a dirty disc error and send me back to the dashboard, clearing the cache fixed it for me.Rodster wrote:Hey fellas my NHL 09 (360) developed hard disk read errors. I swapped it out this morning for another copy of NHL 09 and after playing a game I got the DDE again.
Is my 360 going bad already? I just got it 3 weeks ago, a new 60GB model.

I normally don't mess with sliders, but if you find a fix for the lack of penalties, please post it. I'm also playing on pro default except penalties max, and I've had 5 powerplays total through 18 games of my season. The CPU is getting a couple a game, but I can't draw one to save my life. I've had to up my period length to 7 minutes just to make up for the lack of scoring on the power play.MizzouRah wrote:Yeah.. I like Pro, but the penalties are horrible.. there are some sliders in the NHL 09 general forum (not the sliders forum) that I think I'm going to try - I'll report back.
I hate sliders, but here is what was posted:
I have been using these sliders and getting great results. I just had another great game. The computer had 3 power plays and I had 4 on the power play. Here is what I am using...
All Star
8 minutes
Penalites Maxed
game speed 0
puck control 0
fight dif. 6
fatigue effect 6
AI learning 6
Fatigue Rec. 0
Player Acceleration 0
Hitting Power 4
Agression 6
Poke Effec. 6
Pass speed 0
saucer speed 0
pass inter. 4
goalie passing 6
shot acc 3
shot power 3
shot blocking 4
hook effec 6
penalty shot 6
goalie cover fre 4
try these for penalties.
I don't understand why you would touch anything but the penalty slider, if that's your only gripe? Maybe aggression and hitting power too?MizzouRah wrote:I hate sliders, but here is what was posted:
