I had guys on 2nd and 3rd with Andrew Jones up 2 out. He grounds to the 3rd baseman who bobbles the ball, but throws home to get the tag out at the plate. Then next inning i am at bat, andrew jones is At bat again!?!? Anyone have this happen to them?
What mode are you playing in?

I've only played about 12 games since Friday, with most of them coming in season mode, and I've yet to see this. I know some others at OS have said they've seen it, though.

I know i probably am over scrutinizing the game. but w/ baseball games I do this when they come out, but usually don't care like the next week. Which I am sure is going to happen w/ the show. I am pretty convinced it's going to be the best baseball game out this year. 2k8 I know will have like twice the bugs the show will have, just because it's a 2k game.

I had something very similar happen to me. Arod was up with 2 outs and Abreu on 1st base. I sent Abreu to steal but Arod ripped a grounder to the 2nd baseman, who managed to tag out Abreu to end the inning. My next at bat had Arod leading off again. It's only happened to me once in 10 games.

But theoretically you could have a 2-3 day session of it while the rest of us humps have to work. :D

Anybody else noticing that the high strike is not getting called as much this year? It could just be me, but in a game last night against the Astros, I couldn't get the ump to call anything above the waist a strike when pitching with Joel Pinero (sp?) from the Cards. Maybe it was just the ump or that I was seeing things that way from the outfield cam. Either way, I was loving it.

I have seen the high strike called plenty, possibly just the ump you had as they really vary.

I've too have seen the high strike called as well. I was getting strikes called against me both batting and pitching. That said, I do think it varies from umpire to umpire. Some games, it didn't seem as frequent, but I kept forgetting there are variable umpires in the game.

Yeah and boy do they blow calls sometimes. I don't mean balls and strikes, I mean check swings and plays on the base paths. I like this factor of the game alot, I just wish my manager would get out there and yell at the ump!

Oh yeah, I've seen my fair share of blown calls. There have been a couple instances where I thought the bat crossed the plain of the plate, and the first base ump gave the no swing call. I do think the check swings are more responsive than last year, which is a good thing.

Has anyone seen the manager get tossed yet?

Yes you are correct, actually I do not go back to work until Saturday night at 5pm :D So I SHOULD get to play a fair amount in the next few days.

Here's my question. What does umpire personalities exactly do whether you have on or off? If it's ON do you get an ego maniac where you get tossed at a hint of an argument or it means that they are calling strikes that really aren't?

Well my 1st game and I encounter the walk-off bug.

I started a 14 game season with the Mets.

!st game was vs the Rockies. It's tied 0-0 in the 9th and Delgado wins it with a walk-off 3-run dinger.

Box score shows Delgado with 1 RBI.

Not only that, but Wagner, who pitched that 9th and should have had the W, was not in the box score. When I got to the season menu, he was credited with the W.

Not game-killing bugs, but kinda bothersome. Hope they're able to fix them via patch.

Oh BTW,,, WHAT A f***in GREAT GAME THAT WAS!!!!!! :D

Johan was unhitable, loved pitching with him. Incredible 1st game. Gonna play some more in a bit.

Well i'll save the "this game rocks" stuff as we who own it know how great it is, minor "bugs" and all. And while i don't want to get into slider talk i do have a quick question as to what difficulty you are all playing on and if you've touched any sliders (i guess this means i want to get into slider talk a little . I am on AS with the Red Sox and dropped Wild Pitch and Passed Ball sliders, dropped Pitch Speed way down and upped Pitch Count. That's all i've touched. So far i think that's fine with only a lack of CPU power being an issue but i don't want to touch that stuff for a few more games as perhaps Beckett's dominance is a reason for that (i threw him in one exhibition game and then game one of the season).

Anyway, just curious to hear where you guys are at.

PSP version

After browsing the menus and playing 1 full game I feel like it's a solid game. I'm not upset with anything other than the lack of a fantasy draft. I'm also not real excited about it. Aside from fixing some of the minor issues like the framerate, and having different overlays, the game feels just like 07.

I'm glad they made the font a bit larger throughout the menus and overlays. Much easier on the old eyes. Other than that, there's nothing much to add. It plays just like 07, which is not a bad thing, but I don't really feel like I bought a new game.
