Walmart.com still has the Kinect bundle with Forza 5 download card and your choice of a second game for 499, hopefully there will be similar deals around in a few months when I'm ready to bite on one.

This last update has really nailed the OS down. Real names, external hard drive storage, redesigned store and auto sign-in are all great features. Plus, Games With Gold is live for the One with Halo: Spartan Assault and that Max game now free. Neither were games I planned on spending money on, but they are both good enough to waste some time with. I do have to wonder what will come next and when.

For those with both ps4 and xb1, do the xb1 games come off more colorful than PS4?

From vids I've seen seems like xb1s color palette us brighter than PS4s. I was comparing FIFA.

To me, it seemed the contrast was higher on XB1 games. I don't know if it's really a color palette difference as much as it is higher contrast with darker darks. At least that's what I saw--it was sort of a wash, since the edges were noticeably rougher than the equivalent games on PS4.

Probably similar to the AMD vs. Nvidia card issues on PC.

I'm finally getting cable put into the basement, and adding a box. Now that OneGuide is available in Canada, I was wondering if it was worth it, specifically on Rogers Cable? 10s, not sure if you have Rogers or not.....

I'm just wondering if it's worth running the box through, or just hooking it directly into the receiver? Is the Xbox guide better or worse than what is on Rogers?

I'm also assuming you can still use the PVR remote to control PVR functions, as I believe the xbox doesn't handle PVRs yet.......

I am currently hooked with Shaw Cable and I am not sure about Rogers but I can only voice command a few channels out of it. Common one for us like CBC, TSN, CTV, Sportsnet. US stations that worked for me were ABC, NBC, and CBS. It's nice that they added this feature finally here but I am still pissed that we payed the original $500 bucks without all the bells and whistles working properly.

In fact it'll be a matter of time before I ditch the Kinect altogether as it still won't recognize the essential 'Xbox On' command. 'Xbox turn Off' works though, go figure.

Currently, I have my system hooked straight thru my receiver and again since I am with Shaw, I can't judge the Rogers guide in comparison to the MS guide.

I think Macca is more in your area, he may be hooked up to Rogers.

Unplugged it from the console, unplugged the power of the console itself as the MS website would suggest and...nothing.

Mine did the same thing...and once I removed power completely for a good fifteen minutes, it came back on and started working again.

Read that too. It didn't work for me. And now that I removed the power for the whole evening and tried to make it work today, I am afraid that it's probably fried. Will call MS for the exchange since its still under warranty. Damn.

Over the weekend, I get up to make some coffee and I hear the living room TV on, so I go in and say "xbox turn off" and all goes quiet.

My sister in law who was sleeping on a mattress setup in the living room says.. "hey a**hole, you mean all I had to do was say xbox turn off?, I was saying xbox off and it would just pause the video, so we couldn't find the controller and just went to sleep".

When configuring the Kinect you are to have your TV volume higher than normal. I found that helped a lot. I rarely have problems with mine.

Here's the problem with my Kinect. It's dead. I took it for a test at the MS store which is about a twenty minutes drive, they tested it and...same result. No power, nothing, kaput. I'll get a new one sometimes next week as they packed mine for repairs.

While I was there, I was asking how the new price is affecting sales and they told me that the $399 Kinectless X1 was only being sold online only while the store was just selling the original $499 units. At least here in Canada which I found odd.

If someone walks into a MS and asks for the new priced console, they can get it only while shopping online? What?

Microsoft released nothing because they new that this was going to be a horrendous month since they announced the new SKU dropping on June 9th. Now, when they fail to have a good June, I have no idea what they are going to do.

But numbers aren't real. They are based on what someone at GAF thinks they are. They aren't based on anything more tangible than an estimate of what the WII U did and an estimate of hope many consoles were sold in all categories. It's not that I don't want them to be real, they just aren't. And the reason GAFers wants the numbers so bad is that NPD reporting day is another day for those particular Sony users to gloat. Read the thread and tell me that's not what it is.

Look, I prefer the One for reasons I've stated often enough, but I'm not blind. I think there is still a chance that the XB1 is going to suffer a Wii U like collapse. People who have used it have dumped it. 360 users seem to be jumping to the PS4 in droves. What I value in the XB1 is not being valued by the masses.

I said in my post that while Microsoft accepted that May was lost, that they will have no excuse when June is lost, too. This isn't trying to pretend anything. FFS, you had a One and then switched over to a PS4. Why on earth would you care what the sales numbers are? I don't think you could have made a more educated decision.

But none of that means that the numbers people are gloating about are real. And the reason so many people have accepted made up totals is that they really like to gloat. Period.
