Can and will MS drop their price before release? Is there anything holding them back from doing that, except pride? I guess they could be losing their shirt if they lowered it.

At this point, MS has their backs against the wall. I fully expect them to fight back hard with a strong marketing campaign.

$399 + free online vs $499 + approx $60 XBL free + no used games...............easy choice for this fall. I'm sure when MS see's the #'s that whole online all the time thing and no used games will be thrown out the window.

Just pre-ordered the PS4. Not getting a grand total as I'm on a 30 day free trial of amazon prime. I guess it'll be around $420 +. Might see about preording from Best Buy instead as I have a $100 gift card.

Funny, but disingenuous a bit. More like Sony tries to maintain the status quo so the kid has some normalcy, while MS takes away your car keys and installs a lock on your door...

I'm assuming the cost of doing cloud based play and sharing video etc., etc., is too much for them to absorb. But it's already worth it to have PS+ for all the free games.

Indeed but I've been paying for multiplayer on XBox live for 7 years now and you get Drive Club for free with PS+.


I'll be pre-ordering a PS4....something I never thought I'd say several months ago. If only they can offset those analog sticks on the controller....

So sports gaming wise, what are developers like EA saying if anything yet? What system is the better on to develop for? Which system will the game be developed for and which system will it be ported over to? That'll be a big selling point for me. EA's history has shown the last 2 gens that the ported over system gameplay suffers.

PS's free online sucks. I'd gladly pay 50 bucks per year for XBL over getting PS online for free. Gladly. If PS new online service is anywhere close to the fantastic XBL, then I'd say that MS is legitimately in trouble.


That said, I never was in any hurry to upgrade a console anyway. I'll get Battlefield 4, Splinter Cell:Blacklist, and fantastic games of that ilk on my 360 this year alone, so they can keep their shiny new consoles for quite awhile.
