I've been making good contact, just hitting a lot straight at players. No dingers yet despite sending a few balls to the track.
Another reason I love this game: my three games so far were 2-0 loss, 11-1 loss, and a 3-1 win. You just really don't know what will happen in a game.
Pulse pitching has also really made walking batters much more realistic. My days of leading the league in fewest walks by a lot appear to be over, as I'm in the bottom five to start out. It makes trying to pitch with a guy like Marmol really hard.
Brando.. Have you tried Analog hitting? I've mentioned this before, (and I might be crazy) but I still feel as if I see more hit variety when using analog, particularly shots to the gaps.

I tried it in '11 and was just awful with it. My biggest issue was I was always way behind on everything. Also, unlike Analog pitching or fielding, it didn't feel as smooth to me.
My variety is actually pretty good. I think I hit 5-6 doubles in my first three games. I've just had some hard hits that have been within fielding range, some drives down the lines that just went foul, and a number of long balls that couldn't quite clear the ivy. The Cubs batters really do suck this year, so that's part of it -- I didn't really struggle much when I was playing with other teams in exhibition games. I'm going to have to manufacture runs with this group.

It's so good that it feel clinical to me. So I went and tried 2K because I like the idea of playing a season alongside my Braves and good grief that game is awful (for me anyway).
I started asking myself why I just can't seem to get through a game of The Show anymore. I played countless season of MVP, High heat etc. Then it hit me, I played all those games on the PC.
I don't think it has anything to do with The Show it's all me. I can't play rpg's on the console as I fall asleep and apparently I can't play baseball games either as I was dozing off as well.
I need something to make it more fun for me so I am going to try and fantasy draft league and see if that does it. Has anyone ever done this? Does the cpu draft smart enough that I will get a good mix in the league?
Lol. Totally agree. I really have no idea now anyone in their right mind would play 2k over the Show. It's a turd in nearly every way compared to the show. I suppose someone could say they like the pitching and hitting but good god it's still like missile command. Horrific looking. I just don't get it at all. Oh well.
Not really sure what the answer is to your issue...sounds like a bad situation to be in. I'm glad I've still go an uber erection for the game. Haha.

Agreed, a glaring omission.
I'm in the opposite boat as Danimal. I get bored with every other sports franchise except this. Even NBA 2k doesn't grab me enough. I don't finish my seasons in The Show, but that's because of time, not interest. I think I've played at least 60-80 games every year.
I had a 1-0 lead in my opener that I ended up blowing on the PS3, and ever since then I've been on the Vita and just sucking. I've outhit the CPU a few times, but never in a way that leads to me actually scoring runs. I'm giving classic catcher cam a try for a little while, as it's the lowest camera available, and I have a lot of trouble judging low pitches because the cameras are situated so high.
I had 1 hit as the Reds in my season opener vs the Cards. Rolen hit a seeing eye single up the middle in the 7th. Thought for sure I was going to get no-hit. I lost 1-0.
Second game, thru 5, I have 4 hits with 2 solo HRs. It is tied 2-2.
One thing I know about this game in the past is that you really go through streaks. There are series and sometimes weeks where it will seem like you can't hit a thing then all of a sudden you start hitting and it seems like you should change the sliders. Just hang in there. It will change for you.
0-11 now. The good news is I can get through a lot of games on the Vita. The bad news is, they're pretty much torture. Maybe I don't have the chops for All-Star anymore?
Funny how much I was looking forward to this vs. how little fun it's actually brought me.
I'm 4-5 in my season with the Cardinals. I'm playing on Veteran pitching and Veteran Hitting. The games have been challenging and fun. Also, a little frustrating after losing two of three to the Cubs at home! Starlin Castro is one tough out.
Maybe I'll move up to All-Star eventually, but right now I've found my sweet spot. I've been blown out of a game with Carpenter pitching, won and lost a couple close games, and ran away with a game early on.
Last year I did veteran hitting and all star pitching and that worked well. I am trying AS for both this year but if it is too frustrating will definately drop down to Vet hitting.
Just so I am sure I am not missing it but there is no manage only option with 1 pitch at bats like in the old high heat correct? I mean there isn't even a manage only mode right?

There is a mange only option but no one pitch mode. I requested one pitch to the devs over at OS iand got no response a few years back.
I've been on Allstar the last 3 years with zone hitting and this year I'm on Vet.with a few tweaks,,i.e. taking both human and cpu contact, reliever stamina down 1 notch, and cpu pitch accuracy(?) down 2,and turned check swing appeal off. Playing a quick full sim season with the Nats, playing a game every week or so,and getting a good variety of results. Played vs. Red Sox in Fenway-Beckett vs E. Jackson, and had a seesaw battle 9-8. Jackson gave up 5 in the 1st 2 inn. brought Gorzalanny in who shut down the Sox for awhile ,as I climbed back in. I have had games in Vet though that are 3-2 w/8-9 hits between. I think part of my problem is I'm trying to be too fine by drawing the "appropriate" number of walks, instead of just hitting the ball. Being on vet , I'm just going to go "John Daly" and grip it and rip mode, enjoy the game and not be so stat driven. What was interesting about the Sox game was I tagged Beckett early on even though a lot of the hits were right at somebody, the 3rd time thru the order,I got fed a steady diet of breaking balls as opposed to fast balls and cutters the 1st time around.

Well I am blind where is that option?

Right when you choose to play a game in your franchise, etc. there will be an option to PLAY IT, MANAGE IT, or SIM IT. In the game settings there are even camera angles to watch from the dugout (ala the manager), the press box which I my favorite, or some of the other default camera (pitcher, outfield, catcher, etc.). I'm pretty sure you can even jump into a game you are managing and finish it. One pitch mode would make it so much better. Managing games takes a long time.
Walk off homerun by Carlos Beltra in the bottom of the 9th after Cincy tied and took the lead in the top of the 9th. Felt so good to win in walk off fashion! Banged out 14 hits in route to a 6-4 win.
I'm 5-8 and 3 games out of first place. This game really punishes you if you try and speed thru a game without taking pitches and working deep counts.
