Is anyone having issues with their lineups staying in place? My lineups are changing from what I set them to occasionally and I have no idea why. I tend to play 1 game of a series and sim the others unless it is a big series and my lineups are being altered.

Is there a setting I have screwed up somewhere?

When you're simming, the CPU is adjusting lineups due to fatigue. For some reason it doesn't do it in the game lineup screen like you would, it does it in the management screen (where you can set your persistent lineups). So their changes stick, even though it should only be for one game (resting a player or whatever). No real way to stop that from happening unfortunately.

The only option is to start the game manually and sim to the end. That will fix it, but it's kind of a pain with the loading time that goes on before and after.

Played a day game at Turner Field yesterday... amazing watching the lighting on the field change as the day went on.

I'm doing a fantasy draft season with the Pirates, only 29 games, so it's basically like a round-robin affair. Great way to see lots of stadiums and teams while keeping things moving.

Turner really is an awesome ballpark. Obviously being a Braves fan has me a little biased, but I've been to about a dozen ballparks and Wrigley and Turner are the only two that literally took my breath away when I walked into them the first time and saw the field. Just a spectacular ballpark that doesn't get enough love. Not to mention, the people that work there are absolutely top notch. Every single person you walk by asks you how you are doing and if you need any help at all. It's really shocking coming from Los Angeles.

Can you believe I'm 0-16 in my Tribe season so far? I'm playing on All-Star, obviously I need to go down to Veteran, but just can't bring myself to do it. I know I can get a win, I've come so close (two extra innings losses and a blown save in the ninth, plus a couple other one-run losses). Last night I lost the first of a four-game series in KC. I figure if I get swept by the Royals, that'll be the final straw, I'll give up and go down to Veteran with my tail between my legs. :D

Copied and pasted from OS...from the devs.

Below is the list of fixes for title update 1.01. We are still testing bugs and other issues that the community has reported for a second more comprehensive title update.

"Jackson" available in last name audio database for created players
Collision issues...ARZ and SF... fixed where the ball would roll into and out of the stadium
Fixed the issue in Manage only Mode....you are locked out from moving your controller when accessing the pinch hit...defensive sub
The double switch screen(after pinch hitting for the pitcher in the bullpen screen.....it works if you have your pitcher on the mound) also won't let you move the controller OR even hit X to keep your position player in the game.
Fixed the bug where you couldn't practice swing if it was going to be a pitchouts..
Fixed the stutter issue on the catcher throwback
Fixed franchise bug where team records show 0's on initial team select screen
Generated players in season modes now have a variety of generic stances, instead of one. Use subset of custom batting stances to randomly assign the generated players
Fixed online post game lock, having to do with controller assignment when your opponent goes into the Quick Menu>Bullpen

I'm still hoping for some tweak to analog pitching control when and if they start futzing with the gameplay. I'm walking maybe one batter every other game. As someone at OS pointed out, because of how the meter works it's very easy to miss over the plate when you miss (because the up-down motion is probably more natural for your thumb) instead of missing inside or wide.

Still, I'm loving the game and where the difficulty sits out of the box. So I'd like 'em to tackle it only if it doesn't send other things out of wack. I don't think I'm alone with the user walks thing either... there's a thread about it at OS with people in the same boat as I am.

I'm in that boat too, Slumber.

For me, though, it's hardly worth mentioning anymore. I've given up on seeing (m)any user-pitched walks in baseball video games.

For those not walking anyone, did you try putting the pitcher control slider to zero? I had awesome results with that last year with classic pitching.

I'm really happy with my results with walking guys on analog. I just make it a point to aim for the corners most of the time, not to get walks, but to avoid getting my head bashed in. Since the AI puts up a really good fight against me on offense, my nibbling around the plate results in plenty of walks.

That "practice swing on pitchouts" fix was an annoying glitch in the series as far as I could remember. Glad they finally addressed it.

I always see the in-game recommendation to alter the CPU hitting sliders if you change your pitcher control slider, and that's a rabbit hole I don't really want to go down.

So I start a season as the Nats, and decide to play opening day in manager mode (still no one-pitch mode, grr!)

So in the first inning I have a successful hit and run. On the very next pitch the runner on second takes off for third and is thrown out.

In the second inning I have a successful hit and run. On the very next pitch the runner on second takes off for third and is thrown out.

In the third inning I have a successful hit and run. On the very next pitch the runner on second takes off for third and is thrown out.

There is no way to tell a runner to NOT steal, and every time they took off on the very next pitch.

Then later in the game in the 9th I do a mound visit, which locked up every button on my controller except the PS one to quit the game. So almost an hour wasted. These are the kind of bugs that make me put a game away for a long time.

There was an update to the game, but my season started before it, so maybe that was a problem. I'm going to delete it and start over, although I'm in a O's mood at the moment. I love Camden Yards!

I checked last night, in my All-Star level 0-16 skid, I walked 39 batters in the 16 games. That's with classic pitching, default sliders. Carmona led the way with 9 walks in 23 innings. That's the most walks I can ever remember in any video game. I'm sure it's part of the reason why I lost so much, I got frustrated with the lack of control sometimes and wound up grooving pitches.

I started a new season last night on Veteran, Carmona only walked one in six innings. I still lost though, ha!

Yeah, I got really good "walks" numbers using classic pitching last year as well.

Problem is I really enjoy using the analog pitching now.

I finally got around to trying this years version. It's an absolutely beautiful and the best looking in the series. I love the analog hitting, did the tutorial and got real good with it. Throwing needs work.

I need some clarification on pitching. I followed the tutorial and hears my question. The catcher calls for a ball low and outside to a RH batter. So I aim low and away with my LS. When I push back with the RS if I pull down and up and don't move the RS left or right and keep it in the middle the ball is off in the strike zone. In order to get the ball low and away I have to pull back on the RS, move up and to the left in order to produce a ball low and outside. Is this the way it works?

You would think not move the RS left or right would give you and accurate pitch. Anyway the game looks awesome, love the cleaned up interface (about f###ing time) and Eric Karros sucks.

Vinny I challenge you to a game if they fixed the online lag. :)

I may have to take that offer. Let me get a little bit of practice, tho. : )

feel you on Eric Karros. Is he intoxicated?

note: aside from having fans behind home plate, they have Yankee Stadium perfect. Unsightly ads/billboards and all.

After messing with the analog pitching controls I have tbh and say while it's a nice change of pace to the previous meter the analog pitching in the 2K series is far more intuitive. Is challenge of the week free or do you have to buy it from PSN? Kind of weak if you do.

I noticed a couple of slight issues last night as I made the switch from Spring Training to the actual season.

First, I have 26 guys on my roster. . .was wondering if this is a bug or if I possibly set it up that way--will need to double-check, but I would have expected to only be able to have 25 guys on the major league roster. I haven't decided to keep the extra guy or self-police it.

Second, a real cool feature happened in the first game where a pending trade went through during the game and they annouced it with graphics during the presentation, which was cool until Matt Vasgersian announced "Here are the details of the huge trade that Baltimore completed today.

The issue is I'm the Cubs and I completed a trade with the Angels. . .

Yeah, totally jumped the gun here as the next time out the game barked at me saying something like: "You moronically waited how long to buy a PS3 to play this great game and foolishly thought we couldn't count to 25. . .please. . ."

Assuming you're a baseball fan, you'll never regret it. Love this game.

Rod, you get a free try with each challenge of the week. Never would've thought I'd spend money on this kind've mode, but I'm having a blast with it.

Damn this RTTS/My Player Mode is addicting. I love the changes to the progression. I'm in the Royals system. I started NW Ark. AA as a SS/3B and I was doing pretty damn good hitting consistently in the .333 to 378 17 game hitting streak actually playing the mode of advancement goals set forth by the game. Advancing in the suggested areas in the training points and got promoted up to AAA Omaha after the season split with a 30,000 to 75,000 dollar raise. I love the fact they have you competition with the other guys in the farm system.

Anyways, once promoted and being a bench player subbing for the 1st team SS/3B. They advancement goals asked me to increase my speed and base running ability, so I continued to do so. I get the call to steal 2nd base, went feet first and fractured my foot, and was out for the rest of the season which was 54 days and out was for 60 days.

I thought about not saving this and starting over like I usually do, but I simmed the rest of the season and off season and I was offered a contract in the Royals farm system again. Negotiated a 2 year deal for 190,000 dollars and I'm in competition with 3 SS/3B now on the depth chart and currently winning as an everyday starter.

I like that the advancement goals are 2 for training and 2 for on the field accomplishement. I also love the new interactive training sessions "good at bat" anyone. I wonder with me taking heed to what they ask as far as training and advancement goals has anything to do with my progression?

pro tip:

Also I found and ingenious way to print my info, since a lot of people always ask for a way to print rosters, pitcher analysis screens ect..What I do is take a snap shot via the XMB and put them on a USB and go to my CPU and print them. Nice alternative to writing all that stuff down.
