The game started as San Diego score a field goal, and then Miami scored on their first play from scrimmage, an 80-yard pass to Ronnie Brown.

With the score 10-7, San Diego scored on a fumble recovery of a Ted Ginn punt return to take a 17-7 lead (I swear I was banging the Y button! I probably forgot to take over Ginn, ugh). On the next drive, Miami scored a field goal to make it 17-10 with three seconds left. Miami squib kicked and the following play happened:
<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/110. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>
Miami subsequently kneeled the ball on the next play, instead of taking the bug points.
On the first drive of the third quarter, the Dolphins scored on a long drive to make it 17-17. Following a San Diego turnover, Miami then scored a field goal to make it 20-17. In the fourth quarter, San Diego had two chances to tie the game. First, San Diego drove to the Miami 35, and lined up for a long field goal attempt with the wind at their back. The kick was good, but HOLDING on the offense brought it back. San Diego was forced to punt. However, Miami couldn't get a first down and gave the ball back to San Diego. On a critical 4th and 5, Rivers found a tightly covered Chris Chambers to continue the drive:

San Diego drove to the Miami 34, but threw a duck after being hit by a blitzing corner on a crucial 3rd and 5. Kaeding lined up to kick the field goal....

Wide left. And the Dolphins escaped with a 20-17 victory.

I can play pretty much any night this week. Just give me a time and I will make every effort to be there,TCrouch wrote:Looks like I play Badgun in week 3. I've been out of town since Saturday, so it's my first chance to get near a PC. When is good for you? I'm good to go the rest of the night, or after 4PM PT weekdays.
Yep it was me. The cpu just decided to run and block and not even attempt to go after the kick...Danimal wrote:I'm confused Jared, weren't you playing a human opponent? How did he not go pick up the squib kick?
It is just a video game after all:)
Oh and I thought we were declining holding calls on FGs? No?\
EDIT
I just watched the replay on that squib kick. What happened was the camera zoomed in on the kick and I couldn't tell if anybody was going after it. The guy I was controlling just stood there (facing in the opposite direction of course) while Miami jogged downfield and picked up the ball. Very lame.
I'll also add that Jared just kneeled the ball after grabbing that kick which was pretty darn cool:)
4:15PM PT/7:15PM ET tonight sound ok?Badgun wrote:I can play pretty much any night this week. I was going by this post (being the last one) on holdings...though if there other house rule posts on this that I've missed, please let me know:
Though I was planning on declining holding if it happened on your final FG attempt (as it would have been the 2nd one in the game, and that's just too much).Zeppo wrote:I'd be happy with a 'can't take two in a row' house rule, but I'm not sure it's necessary to eliminate all the holding calls on kicks and PATs with a house rule saying 'no one is allowed to accept any of them.' I mean, I agree it happens too often, but there are quite a few things that happen in this game a bit too often, if you know what I mean. It hasn't ruined the game for me personally at all, but then again I haven't had it come up more than once or twice in any game yet.

BTW... Those Cardinals are doomed! ...Thats right I said it, b*tch!

I think it's because he was actually kicked from the franchise, he didn't leave on his own. It seems like EA set it up so if you are kicked you can't get back in no matter what.Danimal wrote:Yes play the game.XXXIV wrote:Looking at website I still dont see an owner for the Packers.

I think it's a stupid way to do it, and I'm a disappointed if he can't get in at all because of it. It's a bit late at this stage to start fresh.
I will be thereTCrouch wrote:4:15PM PT/7:15PM ET tonight sound ok?Badgun wrote:I can play pretty much any night this week. And the Colts and Cardinals combine for....
6 points.
I threw 2 interceptions (one that was a gorgeous jump by the Arizona FS, the 2nd that was a flukey 1-handed, leaping-with-his-back-to-the-ball play against Larry Fitzgerald in 1-on-1 coverage) in the red zone, and never could get into the end zone all day. Badgun took away the crossing routes easily after the first couple drives, and then brought so much pressure if I tried anything further down the field that I never could move the ball consistently, netting only 1 field goal on offense and then another on a pick in his own end.
However, the Colts rang up 57 total yards of offense. Once the swing passes and outs were taken away, Indy never found a way to move the ball, either.
The results was a snoozer of a 6-0 game.

Rams two minute drill repels Packers comeback. In a game riddled with turnovers( 4 by GB and 3 by the Rams) the Rams survive as Marc Bulger hits Laurant Robinson on a 2yd TD pass with 2 seconds on the clock and no timeouts remaining giving them a 24-21 victory over the Pack.
<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/110. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>
Aaron Rodgers was twice knocked out of the game( the second time for good) but not before throwing 3 ints including a pick six that was returned for 105 yds by the Rams Atogwe.
The Rams had led 17-7 in the 4th qtr and had just stopped the Pack on a 4th and short when Bulger decided the game was getting too boring and threw a pick six of his own.
Then after a Ram three and out and with the Pack now trailing by 3 points Rodgers watched as his back up drove the Packers the length of the field culminating in a Flynn to Driver 13 yd TD pass giving them a 21-17 lead with 1:49 remaining.
Glad thats over with.

The Titans came out strong against the Jets at the Meadowlands, doubling their yardage both in the air and on the ground and dominating time of possession. But three turnovers and a 96-yard punt return by Leon Washington led to a second straight 17-0 victory for Gang Green, who improve to 3-0.
Thomas Jones is the recipient of some good blocking on his way into the end zone:

Washington takes it to the house (they cut off most of the interesting stuff at the beginning):

In injury news, we lost Shaun Ellis for three weeks with a dislocated ankle.

Reminder we flip weeks tomorrow night at midnight, there are a few games left to be played and most against the AI.
I probably won't be giving these warning twice a week, you should be getting use to the schedule by now.
Also Weds. brings us to week 4, the trade deadline is week 6 of the season.

Well I couldn't go down the field and I couldn't run at all so my only choice was to try short passes and hope to turn one into a big gainer. Unfortunately, this game still has a flaw where most picks are returned for TDs so I was not about to throw any high risk passes. I did that with Jared and he took two back on me.TCrouch wrote:And the Colts and Cardinals combine for....

You played great defense and manually shut down any glimpse of daylight I might have had. It didn't help that the only time I ever use the Colts is in this league so I have used them a whopping 3 times total.
Definitely a great game. . .the first turnover after a long run was the real killer for us. . .Slumberland wrote:The Titans came out strong against the Jets at the Meadowlands, doubling their yardage both in the air and on the ground and dominating time of possession. The punt return was something else. . .I remember three poor Titans special teams clowns flailing at Washington before it was only the OL trying to get the right angle---as you may guess they're still searching

Yes, I should add that tmdba37 was marching down the field on me to start the game when Vince Young broke off a 12 yard run that ended with a dive instead of a slide, and what seemed to be a ground-cause fumble. When he tried to review the play it seemed to review the spot where Jenkins (who picked it up) went down instead. A little goofy, to be sure.
I remember that game. Didn't that sat an NFL record for punts?Zeppo wrote:Reminds me of a Jets vs Redskins game I went to years ago. Except your game had twice as many points. Yep, twice as many.TCrouch wrote:

Slumber has to be #1 in the DSP NFL Power Poll. Three straight shutouts to open the season.
