At least Quinn looks legit.
Yeah, he was the one bright spot in another dismal game.
Well, he did throw the ball over ten yards THREE times. I'm pretty sure most QBs can make it through a game throwing under ten yards 90% of the time. I don't know...he was ok...I wouldn't say LEGIT quite yet. Obviously, even though the D let him down, he didn't do enough to win the game for em. Give him a few weeks.
My thoughts on Brady Quinn is similar to yours db. Granted for as much hype, pressure and media spotlight he had on him last night I thought he had a nice game. He didn't embarrass himself as some thought he would. He's obviously better than the QB the Dolphins picked up, John Beck and made more of an impact than Ted Ginn Jr. in just one game.

With that said he may turn out to be another version of Chad "noodle arm" Pennington. Although Chad when he plays within his game is deadly accurate and a very good and smart QB.

My concern regarding Brady Quinn is that it appears the Browns planned around his weaknesses which is why we saw so few deep balls. But with that said he at least had more TD's than INT's and had more completions vs incompletes.

I think he might turn into a decent QB in the NFL. Now with his confidence high I want to see him against a D that is not the Denver D. I want to see what he'll do against one of the better D's in the league.

I'd like to see Beck play behind this years line, rather than last years. You have to admit, it's tough for any QB to get 3 steps into a 5 step drop and realize you're gonna get creamed. He just didn't have ANY chance whatsoever last year. I'm fairly certain that's why he wasn't traded prior to this season. They didn't get a very good look at him last year behind that line. I certainly wouldn't say that Quinn is without a doubt better than Beck. Different situations. Quinn at least is getting a chance behind a halfway decent line.

The only way for Beck to get back on the field is for both Penny and Henne to go down with injuries. With that said from what i've seen Henne may turn out to be a very good QB. The guy has a gun, is poised and is very accurate.

My guess is the Dolphins are trying to use Beck maybe as trade bait later on, plus he's a lot less expensive than McClown who was signed then traded prior to the season.

I thought Quinn showed decent arm strength at the combine.

I didn't see the game last night but from the highlights, looks like he didn't have to throw deep, the way the Browns were able to evade tackles on short passes and get big gains.

I'm sure they'll work on him connecting with Edwards deep.

Hell, I saw something the other day about how Pennington was surprisingly effective with deeper passes this year.

Good call and it's true. Here in Miami the papers have noted that Penny used an arm strength and conditioning coach in the off season. He also used a coach to change the way he releases the ball so now he has more zip and life on the balls he throws.

He's just accurate. He still can't throw the ball worth a damn when he has to squeeze it in. He's been better at the deep ball because most teams are stacking the line against Ricky & Ronnie. He's got a lot more room to work...hence he's not throwing interceptions and he's finding targets downfield a bit. It ain't because his arm strength has improved. He may be working on it...but if anything he went from absolutely atrocious to just terrible. He manages the game though, so I'm not gonna hate on him too much. Hell, I already said at the beginning of the year they'd make the biggest jump. It's coming to fruition, even though the Falcons are right there too. Most of that is attributed to the addition of Pennington. Comeback player of the year?

Man i'm glad things worked out between him and The Tuna. Prior to training Parcells was riding him when he said he had a nagging injury. He's a beast in the 3-4.

Man the Dolphins are about to give me a heart attack. They have let Seattle back into the game. Fortunately the fumble was reversed or Seattle would have had an easy win.

Miami should NOT have to go down to the wire with the Seahawks. But wow...that's now 4 more wins than last year so far and it's the first time the Dolphins have been over .500 in 3 years. Unreal and good times.

Damn 47-3 ouch. At least you guys are in line for a top 5 draft pick. The Dolphins got careless and were lucky to pull out a win.

Anyone else looking forward to the Giants vs Eagles game tonight? Should be a good one seeing it's being played at Philly.

If San Diego can get their heads our of their butts for 30 minutes I may have a chance at the Football lottery this week.

Best wishes,

Outside of the 10-6 snoozefest against the Steelers, they have been entertaining. Hammered the Giants for thier only loss, and the Denver game. Buffalo and Philly in night games to come.

Why did Edwards go for 2?

Seems like the Chiefs would have a good shot in OT if they win the toss. They switched to that game after the Colts-Steelers game.
