I hope EA doesn't screw up NHL 08 - there is not much that needs tweaking imho.
Fix the framerate issue and the collision in transition between offense and the D. The shooting is well done.

NHL 07 was awesome.

a few tweaks...a few customization options...and it will be perfect

If they can get the sam framerate of NHL 2k7, I'd be in heaven. :)

Fellas,

Within regards to the June 10th roster update, I have a question. I think I know the answer, but I'm not sure. When it mentions certain players attributes for power, contact, etc., does this mean the player's specific ratings were adjusted by the developers? For example, I noticed Pujols name for obvious reason on the power attribute. Now, he's been on a tear as of late, so I'm guessing his power numbers have increased in the game?

Thanks.

I don't really have anything to add to this topic, other than, a couple of weeks in, this is still one GREAT game. I just started my first RTTS this weekend, and I only wish I had more time to play this awesome mode. I've never tried it but I've got to believe it's a lot like crack...I kept saying I'm only going to play one more game.

I know we'll get a better game next year, but after 35 years of living, and probably 31 years of playing videogame baseball, I can finally say I really got what I wanted. Thanks SCEA, I really do appreciate it.

You guys are making me so jealous. I want to play this game so bad. RTTS would be more than enough entertainment for me. Alas, i still can't justify $600, or even $500. When someone gets bored with their PS3 just PM me and i'll tell you where to ship it. I'll even pitch in for shipping

Sorry man...RTTS may be the single best sports game experience I've ever experienced in my life. My first created player, myself playing centerfield for the Cardinals, was a bust through spring training and so, rather than stick with me through a season in the minors, I started up a new season tonight, with me playing shortstop for the Cards and hitting lead off. I made myself a 21 year old slap hitter with good speed and a great arm. From playing in the field to running the bases with Pujols, Rolen, Edmonds, etc., coming up, I had no idea I was going to enjoy the mode this much. After 3 games, I'm hitting .285 with 3 stolen bases and 4 runs scored, and I was just able to spend some improvement points with the Batting Coach so I already can't wait to start up the next game. It's like the old baseball stars game only much, much better.

I am also digging the RTTS mode more than I ever thought I would. I am a 3B with the Pirates about 1/2 way thru spring training and I'm having a nice spring....287 1 HR and 6 RBI. Fun, Fun, Fun. Hope I make the big club...hell its the Pirates :)

I echo the RTTS sentiments. So much so that here is what i've done so far:

Me- 3B for the Sox. Never sniffed the show batting .265 through four seasons with the last one coming with the Indians after being released from the Sox. Got cut after the spring and decided to hang 'em up.

Dennis Eckersley- Started as a closer for the Sox. One year contract but with Pap blocking the way i ended up signing with the A's for one year. Had a great year and was signed to a 4-year, $1.8 million contract with the Giants. I am THE man in SF just starting the year 2011 as we speak.

Roberto Clemente- In spring training currently as a RF with the Pirates. After a week .285, 1 HR, 4 RBI.

I think instead of Road to the Show they should have renamed this mode "Take up Crack, it's Less Addicting" :?

I've got to get back in to the RTTS mode. I'm just having too much fun playing out my season. There hasn't been a game that has kept my attention or had me yearning to continue playing like MLB '07.

This game is by far the most enjoyable video game experience I've played in the last five years.

Well, the Pirates assigned me to AAA Indianapolis out of Spring Training. After the first series I am doing well. Crack is a good way to describe this mode. i keep hearing myself say, "just one more game."

If there are any Yankees fans out there, Clemens is supposedly in the new roster download available today, complete with picture (I'm not sure about signature pitching style but my guess is that's in as well).

One thing I would love to see in RTTS Mode is a simulation screen between your at bats or plays in the field. I would like to see how things are playing out in the game as they happen as opposed to coming up in the 7th and seeing that my team has given up 7 runs, or has already made a comeback from 4 runs down. I would like to see it happen as it happens so that I can be emotionally involved in the game. Otherwise all I am emotionally involved with is my player getting better.

Show us a simulation screen that goes 1 batter at a time and what is happening. I think it would immerse the player a bit more.

Thanks, Backbreaker, but I actually already posted it in the Wishlist thread over there but right after that there was a pissing match over the color codes that MVP used and how realistic or unrealistic it is. But thanks for the backing on it!

After a few weeks of play and 30 full games I can now safely state that this is my favorite offline sports game ever. There are some minor issues (collision detecton, freeze issue when connected online, lack of in-game save) and the graphics could be better, but the core gameplay is exactly what I've been looking for in a graphical baseball game.

The only problem is that it's too realistic :D After a somewhat promising start with the Pirates I'm heading south. The same weaknesses IRL are evident here...lack of a 5th starter, need for another power hitter, bench depth, and late inning relief pitching.

I agree, Leebo...it's not even close for me. It sure does make you wonder what all of the reviewers were smoking. I wonder if half of those guys are even baseball fans. It's never gotten any better than this, IMO...and that extends to all sports.

I couldn't agree more! I have been saying that with some small tweeks to the gameplay, add in individual batting and pitching styles, collision detection, better graphics (aren't bad as they are but could be better), and maybe add Single A Minors and I don't see what more someone could want from a baseball simulation. This only goes for the actual gameplay and season aspect. Haven't delved into Franchise yet so I don't know what needs to be fixed or added in that area. But on the field gameplay, during a season and I think we are 1 year away from having everything you could want in a game. And I don't recall ever thinking that we are only 1 year away from this after any game that was released. MVP was a fun game and possibly could have gotten there but I felt like they were maybe 2 years removed from what I would consider the pinnacle of baseball video games With The Show, I feel like we are literally only 1 year away and that is amazing to me.

As good as High Heat was (just lost all-time fav status), it never felt like it was only a year away from having everything I could ask for.

Or they should do what LMA manager (UK footie game) does and have a fast play option. Where everyone moves really really fast. You could see an entire game that way.

Not to get away from the RTTS mode (I am loving it), but along the lines of in game updates, I'm sure someone has mentioned this but I would love to see actual footage of key games during your games. In other words, in the 4th inning of my Phillies franchise I would love to see a highlight where they show the Brewers beating the Mets on a walk off HR...or something like that. THAT would be sweet.

The only thing that's wrong with RTTS is some of the gameplay bugs that come up. Some weird outs and little things like that. It doesn't happen every game but does happen enough to notice.

The RTTS is absolutely brilliant and the only mode I ever play in the game, SCEA even included my name in the game. :)

I felt the need to talk about my latest RTTS moments.

I am a 2nd year 3B in the Cardinals organization, I'm starting at AAA. I have been called up a few times, I assume due to injury (I wish there were more information on whats happening) but haven't done much at the MLB level.

So were in the middle of August and I have a Monday AAA game, I am up with bases loaded and my team is down by 1 in the top of the 9th. I hit a shot deep to left field which goes off the wall and the LF crashed into the wall going for the ball. I manage an inside the park grand slam.

Then next day I am called up to the Cardinals, I again assume because of injury. So I get used on Weds. as a pitch hitter in the 9th, the Cards are down by 1 with runners at 2nd & 3rd. I single in both runs and win the game.

Thursday they use me at 3B, I go 4 for 4, including a Grand slam. This game was not in questions. I ended up with 8 RBI's on this night.

Friday I go only 1 for 4, but again in the bottom of the 9th I am up with the bases loaded and 2 outs. We are down by 2 and I mange a walk off grand slam. That's 3 grand salami's in a week.

I play through the weekend, but get sent back down the next Tuesday. But in my stint for the Cardinals I hit over .500, had 5 home runs and drove in 19 runs. But they still sent me down..bastards. I didn't even warrant a September call up.

Now I am starting year 3 and it looks like I am the Cards new starting 3B. I really love this mode but i have a huge list of improvements that could make it absolutely killer.
