Who am i going to root for now.
Sens, no doubt. Good season for the Oils, got a lot of good years to come as well as the Maple Laughs. Good young teams with skills.
Oils started better but after the Caggiula goal, you can tell the experience of the Ducks started to take over. Strong along the boards, cycling the puck, the individual battles. Credit to the home team as they dominated during the critical junctures of the game.
Gutted about the Oilers' loss last night in Game 7. Congrats to the Ducks.
But I'm heartened about the future for the Oilers. Great young core, excellent front office and coach. Feels a lot like when I fell in love with this team in 1982, in the early years of Gretzky, Messier, Kurri, Coffey and Fuhr.
Plus I'm VERY grateful for the postseason excitement the Oil delivered to me. So refreshing, as I'm a Bills' and Knicks' fan, too, and the postseason feels centuries away for those franchises.
I'm on the Sens' wagon now. Closest team to me that's still alive in the postseason. Plus I'm tired of Pittsburgh, hate Anaheim and couldn't give two sh*ts about Nashville since it's a franchise in an area that has no hockey history and doesn't give a sh*t about hockey outside of its hardcore niche fans.

Maybe if the Ducks win another Cup we can enjoy a web stream of their championship parade in the parking lot of the Honda Center, lined by approximately 5,000 fans.

I'm gutted today too, though I agree with McDavid post game. If someone told me the Oilers would have had a game 7 against the Ducks in the second round of the playoffs way back in September I would not have put any money down.
There's finally a future to look forward too, and hopefully with some more experience on the young guys, and some retooling (cough cough get rid of Ebs) then next year should be even better!
Strong start for the Preds in the first period, physical, outshooting the Ducks as they showed some push back in the 2nd. So far Laviolette has been successful shadowing the Ducks top line with P.K Subban who's doing a good job controlling Perry who's still hasn't had a shot yet after 40. One thing about these Preds, they won't shy away from the physical play.
Great goaltending duel so far after 40 minutes. The 5 on 3 PK kill by the Sens was huge in the first period not allowing even one shot. They've done well shutting down the Pens speed in the neutral zone. Tight game.
We all agree that these playoffs have been fantastic to watch no matter what series you've been following. However for me, the first two games between the Pens and Sens have been contrary to all the excitement these playoffs brought so far. Especially tonight. Knowing Guy Boucher, you're not going to get his team trade offensive chances with PIT as it's been defense first mentality for OTT on the road.
They may open up a notch at home, but not necessarily. It's been a goaltending duel so far and I am expecting more low scoring games.
