Nope. The last time the Blues made it to the second round by ousting the Sharks, who fans also pretty much despised. But all anyone remembers is the four game sweep and thumping the Kings put on them in round two.
No, Blues fans will enjoy knocking the Blackhawks out because they are natural rivals, they happen to have a ton of douchey players right now, and many of their fans are like this moronic girl taunting Backes in this clip.
This is just a nice appetizer for the real meal. This was not the team's mission. But after the last three early exits, there is all the reason in the world to be excited about exorcizing this particular demon. And the fact that it's the Blackhawks, that's just a nice topping. It's a douchey team that seems to inspire a fan base to act douchey.

You mean tomorrow night?
It's going to be electric in that building!
Yeah, I don't now what I was thinking. I'm out of town and got the days mixed up. Gonna have to get down there tomorrow night. Hopefully it will be an epic night.

Finishing them off would be one hell of a great night!

My opinion is the stuff being said on the ice is probably the same or worse. He got caught saying it on camera, they had no choice but to do this and good on them for doing so. Don't commit a stupid penalty with the game on the line.
His absence won't make a difference, I said before this started I didn't see the Hawks winning. The Blues are playing better and are hungrier in my opinion. Only guy i feel bad for is Crawford, I think he has played outstanding and his D has let him down again and again. I'm sure Blues fans aren't happy about last night, I still have no idea how we got a power play on that but I like the fire.
It will be a tough pill to swallow but you can't win the cup every year.

Glad they did the right thing.
Agreed.
The Blues are impressing me. Elliot has been the difference.
BUT
I wont believe til there are 00 on the clock and they have won the fourth game. I am thus condition by the two teams over the last few years. One is a winner and one is not.

The beauty about this year's playoff is that the top teams in the West and East may potentially face each other in the second round. I am talking particularly about the KIngs, Ducks, Caps and Pens.
I'll be watching as per usual because Lord Stanley is so hard to get yet so satisfying and rewarding for the hardest working team with a bit of lady luck on the side. Here's what I think may happen on Wednesday:
DET-TPA: What a tough break for the Bolts losing their best player at this time of the year. Wings made it for yet another year despite playing so so hockey to get here, but with Datsyuk and Zetterberg as leaders they should win it in 5 as a depleted Lightning team is ripe for the taking.
NYR-PIT: What a difference team the Pens have become under M. Sullivan. Crosby literally started playing the way he's capable of and started carrying this team. Most importantly for Pens fans is that some of the forwards learned finally how to play D. Rangers have some injuries and while King Lundqvist may steal a game here and there, this PIT roster is deeper than NY. Pens should advance in 6.
CHI-STL: The Blues need to answer this question. Can Elliot/Allen play to the high level that they have shown in the regular season? If so, they have a chance as Hawks' play have tailed off the last month or so relying too much on their goaltender. Interesting enough, I thought CHI loaded up pretty well during the trade deadline yet at the same time their gameplay started to tail a bit. With Keith back soon, they should barely beat STL in 7.
Then...
PHI-WAS: The best team in the East should advance in 4. Backstrom and Ovechkin had an amazing year and with a solid Holtby they should handle Giroux's best effort. If Gudas and the rest team continue with their undisciplined play they'll make the Caps victory that much easier.
NYI-FLO: Panthers' addition of Hudler, Purcell and Kindl added depth to this overachieving team this season, not to mention the ageless play of J. Jagr. Isles have been trending in the wrong direction and with Halak doubtful for this series, my adopted team for this playoffs should advance in 5.
MIN-DAL: Wild have it tough vs the highest scoring team in the league. With Parise doubtful for the series, the Stars should advance comfortably in 5.
LA-SJ: The series I am most interested to watch in the first round. Yes, we all know that the Sharks have tanked historically in the playoffs. But since big Joe was stripped of his captaincy last season, little Joe has played admirably with a solid supporting cast. With the exception of D. Doughty, LA's D is a concern to me especially their lack of speed. They need Gaborik back soon. If there's going to be an early upset in the first round I am looking at this series. This is going to be one physical series folks. Still, with Quick and a solid roster, I think Kings will advance barely in 7.
ANA-NAS: With the roster that they have, I knew that the Ducks' horrific start would eventually change. And boy did they ever, overtaking the Kings' top spot on the last game of the season. P. Rinne like Lundqvist can't steal every single game, and will drop to the more powerful ANA team in 6.
Washington won't sweep Philly. Mason is a hot goalie. The Flyers 4th line has been tremendous. I disagree with you undisciplined statement. And I'm a Flyers fan so you are wrong.
Those of you who haven't seen Gostisbehere play...enjoy. He is one hell of an exciting defenseman. His stick skills are a pleasure to watch. He's clever and heady.

Great. Now the brilliant Flyers management will give even more fluorescent kiddie bracelets postponing the inevitable.
The sad thing is the bracelet incident is a typically stereotypical "Philly Fan" thing that really hasn't happened much at all in recent times. Also, Flyers fans are the Philly fans that are usually the best behaved compared to the rest of the sports teams...especially the Eagles. Unfortunately it happened and everyone that isn't from Philadelphia will footnote it everytime they want to criticize Philly. Don't get me wrong, it was a classless move by the Flyers fans, and the criticism is deserved, but these incidents happen FAR fewer than what is portrayed. I could list incident after incident over the past decade where other cities have behaved worse. Philadelphia has a rep so putting up with the "noise" is part of the job.
