I would have said NHL 07.Inuyasha wrote:someone asked me if the gameplay of the demo reminds me of any previous nhl game. I would definitely say NHL 10. I think their top game in terms of AI was NHL 13, so if the final version is anywhere close to that, we all should be very happy.

Is it me or pinning the CPU on the boards is pretty much a hit and miss, and not so much when it's the other way around as if you feel trapped in a spider web. So you try to kick the puck to an open mate, but that's the issue, they don't quite read the play arriving late most of the time.
Re: NHL 15
NHL access trial limited to 6 hours. That's probably enough for me, but I'm still kind of surprised EA clung to that limit after the EASHL shitshow.

I am not surprised. They have been, are and always will be arrogant assholes. They think their s*** dont stink.Naples39 wrote:NHL access trial limited to 6 hours. That's probably enough for me, but I'm still kind of surprised EA clung to that limit after the EASHL shitshow.
Re: NHL 15
tired hardcore and didnt like it. it slows the game down alot. takes the fun out of the game imo. but i like that fast up/down style, you may not.

Looks terrible, hate to say it.
The players don't look like their real life counterparts.
The gameplay looks like crap. Just up and down the ice.
Commentary is horrendous. I mean really wtf. Reminds me of 16 bit All Talk Baseball.
Graphics nothing special. Uniforms lifelfess no detail.
Fighting was lifeless as well.
Geez what a mess. 2 years for this?

I thought the demo was fun but not a lot "next gen" vibe. I was hoping for more of a nba 2k leap in the looks department. Looks ain't everything, so it's still in the 'buy' category for now.

Eeesh...after finally getting around to playing the demo...I'm underwhelmed. The skating and movement isn't nearly as smooth and precise as last gen. The lighting of course is better, but the animations are def a step backwards. I'll still rent it to give it a whirl, but damn...what have they been doing for two years? The hallmark of the NHL series was smooth and precise skating...well, that's gone now.

Yeah, I may go with FIFA 15 if that impresses me more. Hardcore plays a little better. I did read from one source that the game controls better on the xbox one, so maybe see if that makes a difference.dbdynsty25 wrote:Eeesh...after finally getting around to playing the demo...I'm underwhelmed. Re: NHL 15
I was thinking about this yesterday.
I think the player control this year is smoother and quicker, but the players have much more weight to them and once they start turning one way they can't quickly change direction.
I am hopeful this greatly reducing the "figure skating" online, as a good player could practically play one man keep away indefinitely with his ability to string together sharp turns and accelerate. It was a huge flaw in the game IMO, and for me the balance between realism and playability was off the mark.

It's nowhere close to a next gen feel. It's like the building blocks beta version they're pushing out as next gen. Even the cut scenes like when the game ends is a copy of last gen.
Rumor has it that ea will make online plat hardcore all star as default.
Re: NHL 15
I would have loved to see EA make an NHL version for the PS Vita.
Re: NHL 15
F*%kers made only one version which was back in 07 if I am right. Have been craving for this since the new Vita came in. Something, even a mobile version would be nice to see.Rodster wrote:I would have loved to see EA make an NHL version for the PS Vita.

Hope they choke on it.
Re: NHL 15
Most of those people will still buy it.. especially if the game play is better than previous versions.
Re: NHL 15
Most of which people?
I wouldnt piss on the game if it was on fire.
I will play the access cause its paid for. After that these asshole can suck my balls.
Till next year.

Re: NHL 15
It really depends on how big the EASHL crowd really is. They are definitely vocal and dedicated, but I thought I had heard some time ago they represented a very small portion of the customer base. Most people probably just play solo 95% of the time. And yes, that number is fresh out of my butt.
But the negative press is not a good thing.
What's interesting is that the NHL series is not a huge seller like FIFA and Madden. If the truth is that they just couldn't get the mode into the game in a state that was acceptable, but gamer rage leads to a mass revolt of the game, they may cancel next year's game that would have had the mode. That's not probable, because I think it would have to tank really hard to get canceled, but I think not buying the game to punish EA is self-defeating.
But if all you play is EASHL, then it would also be dumb to buy the game if it is not in there.

I never use EASHL or Be a Pro or those other modes.
I generally do some HUT, Online 1v1, and offline stuff. I don't like season mode is gone though.
but i'll probably buy day one. The game has always been fun for me 1v1` online.

I played a few games of the demo yesterday and really liked it too, but now I hate Ramjag even more for not putting the EASHL in it.
