One of only VERY few weaknesses in this game. Horizon would be a masterpiece if it accommodated 16 players online and featured replays with a save function.
Horizon still is a borderline masterpiece, even with those features missing. The most fun I've had with ANY video game in this generation of consoles and among my most enjoyable titles ever, online and offline.
P.S.: My sons finally drove on all 216 roads and unlocked the last barn find car last night. Nice when kids can do the dirty work.

My new Forza mantra: "Zeppo is the last Infected. GET THAT F*CKER!"
Yes I'm very blasé about the whole thing.
Seriously PK thanks for being a total dick and continng to poke me until I loosened up because I finally did get into it and had some very fun moments in infected. I'd still like to try more actual racing but that did end up being really fun once I got my head out of my ass.
Probably not in for tonight until after the football game. Two 7-1 teams on Sunday night is hard to pass up.

True. Especially when the game will be played in a deluge.
As the fun progressed last night, I could sense your increasing realization of a very important fact about Horizon: THIS IS NOT FORZA 4. THIS IS NOT FORZA 4.5.
Horizon is a simcade game. It's more about fun, a bit of banging and sliding, than pure precision like Forza 4 or F1 2011.
Think of the bastard offspring of a torrid affair between Midtown Madness 3 and Project Gotham Racing 2, and you have Horizon.

Teal and I took our first look at the free roam multiplayer last night. It's not much to look at. Traffic is turned of (which makes it primed for speed trap records, which do count) and the challenges are generally drive Car X from Point A-Point B in a given time frame. Trick points do not carry over to single player, which is kind of a bummer. Payoffs are good though and it's fun just showing off different cars and screwing around.
What we need to do though is this:
We can set up a race with a room of 8 guys. Pick our restrictions and have a Cannonball Run race...say from the Red Rocks Amphitheater to the bottom of the Dam. Let everyone map their own routes etc. Could be an absolute blast.

Oooooh. Massive. Let's do it soon!

You mean the "PR stunt" at the outposts that requires you to rack up skill points? I hated them too. I was on a mission to unlock free travel to all the outposts, but I hated doing those. They took me forever at first, though by outpost 10 I had a technique down and could bang it out pretty easily.
Basically my technique was just to keep the car in third gear, swerving back and forth across the road using the e-brake to keep the back end loose. You have a few seconds to keep your skill chain going, so you can straighten out just long enough to regain control and a little speed and then start an e-brake slide back across the road. Also if there's road signs or traffic, you can keep your chain going with a close pass or hitting road signs in lieu of a slide. One of those races I got a chain up to like 75k points, and had a final score of like 120k with this method, when only about 15k was required to pass.

Yuck. I personally never find that kind of thing enjoyable in racing games. Like most of the Gymkhana stuff in Dirt.
Do you get anything in-game for 'finishing' the game? I probably won't bother with it unless you unlock some rare sweet ride or something.

I'm at like 90% so I'll let you know...if I can get past the PR Stunts. Gonna try Naples tactic now. I can usually pass them, but just barely and after 10 or so tries PER event. Annoying. It's exactly like the Gynkhana stuff I completely skipped in DIRT. Hate this stuff.
I should have the game Monday, so hopefully folks are still playing. Sorry to ignore the party requests, but my brother neglected to bring the game with him when we met up last weekend. Of course, now he's just sending it and Halo 4 for free and calling it early Christmas, so I can't complain.
So feel free to send a request next week. I hope to jump in.

Wish there were replays, as just hearing both of you run down to that finish was awesome.
