Madden 10 - Will they prove us wrong?

I'm very interested in an online franchise. I wonder, can one be done with fewer teams? Like, could we do one where all the teams are human controlled? But I would be down for a full league if that's what eeryone else wants. Also, I'd suggest we wait a week or two after release to get started. Just a suggestion.
Of course I'd like the Skins if we are picking now.

I'd love to get into a league. Although I'm a die hard Skins fan I guess Zeppo beat me to the punch.
FYI - I was in the NCAA FB league last year and was one of the first guys to complete his game each week. Ultimately my Xbox did the RROD dance and the league ended up folding.
Bottom line - if you guys want a dedicated straight-up player count me in.

I'm not sure if they count or not. We should probably try to settle on a commish for this thing. Who was the hardass for the WE league you guys did? Anyone else have some drill sergeant they are looking to get out?
Oh...and I would love to have my Vikings, Favre or no Favre.

The sing-along songs'll be our scriptures.

Looks like at some point you may get your cam before the season is over.

Thanks, Dan...I just saw that. Hopefully they'll move the camera to the left by about 7-8 yards so there's not so much wasted room behind the QB, but I very much appreciate the fact that they're working to get this in. Good stuff.Danimal wrote:GT

No they issue them when the product is shipped IIRC. I'll need to check the terms and conditions again.wco81 wrote:You got the $10 GC already?Rodster wrote:I went ahead and preordered Madden 10 from Amazon. I'll get a $10GC plus guaranteed release date shipping so i'll be playing it on 8-14. So basically i'll get Madden 10 for $46.99 with no tax and release day arrival.
All you have to do is sign up for a trail membership to Amazon Prime. That's what I did and how i'm getting it on Aug 14th with free shipping.wco81 wrote:that's what I thought. It sounded like you were saying they sent you the GC code.
They offered to get it to me on the release date for $6 more. I would cancel my existing preorder and re-do it, but choosing the $6 release date option for shipping.
Whatever.
p.s. you'll still get your $10 Amazon GC.
Finally tried the demo out last night. Quite impressed. It's still Madden, but it finally looks somewhat next-gen and the gameplay actually resembles real football.
My one big complaint is that EA apparently believes that no one games on a plasma TV, since they run that big white logo all the time along with the white lines of the status bar. It would be awesome if we could turn it off or fade it back.

Sounds like this may become reality sooner rather than later, based on this post from Ian over on the OS boards. On a wide screen HDTV, the broadcast view should be fantastic.Danimal wrote:GT

"I saw it in action today -- it's actually nearly completed from a tuning standpoint (the work remaining is figuring out how to stick it onto the existing product seamlessly). The QB is framed much farther back (you can see your receivers a good 30-40 yards down field), the camera zooms in on the action (i.e. the ballcarrier as he is running downfield), it turns on automatically for CPU/CPU games, and it works like a charm with 'coach mode' turned on. I must say, I didn't care much for this feature back in the day but with the next-gen graphics I can't lie - it is a pretty bad-*** addition. Can't wait to get it finished and ship it out to you guys."
I finally got to play the 1 minute per quarter demo last night for PS3 and that's pretty much how I feel as well. I only played 3 games, but I just don't get all the love. Maybe it's because I wasn't able to play as my favorite team (the Steelers), maybe because it was only 1 minute quarters, and maybe it will grow on me. But I still can't run the ball worth a damn....I run the ball to where the play is designed and get hit at the line of scrimmage and stopped cold more often than not. I have no fun whatsoever on defense...the whole thing was just very underwhelming for me.MizzouRah wrote:Can't tell a whole lot from a 1 min per quarter demo, but I'm not sure I really like those cutscenes happening so quickly after a play - I want to see the play finish.. doesn't seem like it does this.
I'll wait for impressions before picking it up.
I'm ho hum about it, maybe I expected it to blow me away.. but it is just a demo.
Hopefully they get the broadcast view ironed out and that will inject some fun factor for me. Otherwise, I'm glad most other people around here will be able to get their football fix, but I can't see myself spending $63.59 on the game in its present form.
