Is it considered "cheese" if you're on the green, but 30 feet away from the hole, and you pitch instead of putt? Instead of trying to figure out if I should use the 20-foot putt or the 40-foot putt, I have been getting better results just pitching.

It works great for those timed coach's putting challenges too, just because the ball gets there faster, giving you more shots, even though at times it feels more like a free throw shooting contest.

Official list of fixes for the TW09 360/PS3 patch direct from the EA Production Team:

Custom Coach Drill – Fixes an issue where specific Pro Shop items were causing a crash during Custom Drills.

EASW PhotoFace -Improved site connectivity when retrieving photos.

Power Cap Cheat – A password has been added to the game that will allow Players to cap their created golfer’s maximum Power rating. By entering the password “powercap” and a number (1-12) the player will be able to cap their created golfer’s maximum power. Example: powercap5 will cap the Player’s created golfer to a maximum power of 5 in game. This is only for a created golfer’s Power skill; no other skill can be capped. Correctly entering the password does not automatically change the created golfer’s power to 5 it simply makes 5 the highest possible power the created golfer may reach.

The Power Cap cheat is not permanent and will have to be reentered each time the game is booted. To disable the cheat you must either reboot the game, or enter “powercap12.” Please note that after using the Powercap cheat you may see a fluctuation in your overall Power skill rating and/or boost. This will go back to normal after your next round of golf.

Xbox Live Achievements –Players are now able to create a golfer and unlock the Big Spender and Member’s Fees Achievements without rebooting their console.

Fairway and Green Speeds – Fixes an issue where Fairway and Green speeds were being displayed in reverse on the Course Options screen.

GamerNet- Improved connectivity issues and server performance.

This is nice, but having to enter the cheat EVERY time you start the game is a little annoying. How about a permanent fix? What if your are already past your desired cap? You have to start over with a newly created golfer? No thanks!

p.s. I have been playing TW08 / PC with the Logitech Pad and it is VERY challenging to say the least. I tried 06, but I had too many visual glitches (picture flashing, etc.) so I am pretty happy with '08 right now. I think my 360 copy will be going up on Ebay. It's fun, but gets boring quickly due to no challenge in getting to the greens in regulation every time.

This gives those users who want this the ability to do so and not force everyone under the same scenario. I wish it were permanent and TW10 will not have this issue.

If you are already past your desired cap, it means nothing. You do NOT have to start all over. Once you reboot your 360, your skills go right back to where they were before you applied the Powercap.

Can't stand playing TW 08 PC with a gamepad. TrueSwing with a laser mouse is as close to golf swing heaven that I hve come across....

Really? Have you tried it with a Logitech pad and with a profile where you decrease the sensitivity all the way? Putting is extremely challenging and I actually miss the FW right or left sometimes.

What kid of mouse do u use? Do you swing vertically or horizontally? I might have to give that a try. Which PC version are you playing? '06 is highly touted, but I found '08 to be equally as good. I never liked playing with a mouse because I prefer to sit back in my comfy desk chair with a gamepad on my lap.

1. Yes. I lowered the sensitivity of the L-R axis to 0 and it was unplayable for me.

2. Logitech G9 laser gaming mouse. TW08...

I might have to try that. I really think the '08 PC version is pretty damn good. Is that the corded or wireless model?
