Anyone remember when Owens flipped the ball to Mike Brown of the Bears in an OT game in Chicago?

The b*tch just did it again...

Condo associations can't bar you from installing a satellite dish. At least nothing bigger than 1 meter round.

It's either a federal law or an FCC ruling.

You can fight them or you can try to maintain civil relations with your association.

Game got better after Favre left the game with injury. Rodgers was very good. This game was all about home field in my eyes. I see the Cowboys vs the Pats as inevitible unless we get impartial refs in the playoffs.

I do agree with Collinsworth in one respect. Romo is getting better every day.

Is it just me, or are the NFL Network broadcasts the most lifeless live sports this side of the WNBA? The crowd noise seems low, Gumbel is BRUTAL, and Collinsworth is too used to being a studio analyst.

That PI against the Pack sucked, but it sounds like that's par for the course for tonight's crew.

Agree on all points.

The announcers were the living dead. The refs were total Cowboy ass kissers.

Same refs that did the Pats/Colts game this year...The NFL thinks this crew is good because they are getting these big assignments. What a joke that is.

That's all we need, Patriots fans whining how officiating is keeping the team from running up the score by 40 points instead of 30.

Who the hell called that second time out in the Redskins game? Gibbs? An assistant? A player? That was a ridiculous f--- up. If it was Gibbs, I'll be mortified to have lived to see the day when he was out-coached by Dick Jauron...

Good to see S. Alexander back, as the Seahawks are in a bit of a streak now.

Looks like it was Gibbs. Watching some of their attempted 2 minute drives, Gibbs looks sadly off his game this year. At his age though I'm amazed he's even able to stay out there - the head coaching job is absolutely brutal when you look at the hours those guys work.

Best wishes,

Doug

It was a GREAT call by Gibbs. I'm a diehard Bills' fan, after all ... :)

Who is the third best team in the NFC right now and does it matter?

I'll start by picking the Vikings; Adrian Peterson is unbelievable and Tarvaris Jackson is entering "doesn't suck" territory, a HUGE step up from earlier in the year.

Sadly for Bills fans, Gibbs' slide in coaching ability occurred 15 years late

It was Gibbs. In the post-game, he said he asked the official if he could call a 2nd time out, and that he thought the official said 'yes.' Then the official said 'when do you want to call it?' and Gibbs said 'now.' So the official calls it, and then you get the penalty. But Gibbs reiterated over and over that it was his fault, that he should have known, that he knew you couldn't call time outs back to back but in the heat of the moment thought he should ask anyway . . . Either way they should have just gotten a first down to end the game instead of running it three times in a row at the end. Oh well.

Shitty ending to a sad, freaky day at the stadium. Really emotional at the start, before the game. The marching band did a very classy, non-cheesy piece first, and then a slow, dirge-like version of Hail to the Redskins. Then they had the PA man give a little talk, and then a powerful video piece on the big screens.

I don't think this team will win another game this season. It's been a terrible season. They will be very gutsy just to show up on Thursday. They have a 6:30 AM flight to Miami tomorrow, and then one day of practice.

I hate this Bears team. Awful, awful, awful choke at home. If you can't hold a 9 point lead at home against Eli Manning, you don't deserve to go to the playoffs.

One somewhat bright spot -- Grossman's played 4 games and thrown one pick. He still fumbles like he has AstroGlide on his hands, but yesterday he actually protected the ball when he was being chased or getting hit. I think he would be worth bringing back if the Bears can get him for a cheap price.

My wife was watching the Bears-Giants game on TV yesterday as I did dishes after dinner -- what's wrong with our traditional family? :) -- and I heard the announcer say, "What a great pass by Rex Grossman."

I quickly said to The Frau, "That's a phrase I never thought I'd hear, right up there with integrity by a politician ... "

Watching the last quarter and being a neutral viewer, the only thing that kept popping in my mind was, can this team win back to back games?

Grossman plays QB like most ppl do in Madden....when the pocket starts breaking down he just drops back as far as he can. He has a really good arm and can make some great accurate passes but like Eli, he can be Jekyll and Hyde all game long and his pocket presence is pretty suspect.

Good game for the G-men though. They desperately need to have a good second half of the season. Too many late season collapses over the past few years...

I feel a rant coming on so be warned

Yeah Grossman was not the problem yesterday. He certainly wasn't perfect, but when he throws for 290+ yards and has no turn overs and the Bears get 4 take aways, well I'm not sure where to begin.

I'm sure thiss will comes as no surprise but i have been critical of this team since pre-season. First you let you Defensive coordinator go and while I don't thin kthat is a major issue I still don't understand the reasons.

Then Lovie makes move after move to bring in his guys. You bring in Archeleta and ask us to trust you and now he is on the bench (that took about 5 weeks longer then it should have) You got rid of two secondary players that while not starters have stepped in frequently in the past and done the job. I don't know about other bears fans but I would love to have Chris Harris at safety right now.

The offensive game plan has been just bat s*** crazy on a number of occasions. Here is a typical bears drive:
1st down swing pass for 0-3 yard gain.
2nd down dive play for now gain.
3rd down sack or dropped pass.

I put yesterdays loss squarely on the Defense and the O coordinator. This defense is awful and with the exception of a few guys just going through the motions. In fact the whole coaching phlisophy that they can get conservative and hold on for the win just breeds failure. Maybe they haven't been watching but this defense hasn't stopped anyone.

By the way can you tell me what kind of groin injury keeps you on the sidelines for 9 games? Because that is how long Vasher has been out, I mean I am pretty sure by groin injury they must of meant he has his balls removed, but I'm not sure.

So where do we begin picking up the pieces?

Need some young O linemen
Need a credible running back
Need wideouts who can hold on to the ball.
Need safety help, if Mike Brown is in camp as your #1 next year I might personally go down and b*tch slap Smith.
Need a defense who can tackle.

A pretty good list and if you go out and try and get a new QB, who exactly are you going to get? I am not a Rex fan but I don't know where you go. I know this, as soon as you're mathematically out you better give Orton a look, it is time to see what he has got or get him the f*** out of dodge.

Bottom line is this Bears staff thought they were the s*** and they have learned (I hope) a long hard lesson and that is you can't sit on your ass and not improve.

If you really think about it and this team is a few mircale finishes away from being a 2 win team.

I am so disgusted my blood pressures goes up everytime I talk about them.

I agree on all points Danimal but I still think a good offensive line masks a bunch of those things.

I'll give the defense the benefit of the doubt this year and expect that they'll bounce back next year. Tommie, Nate, and Brian have been hurt all year. They need to shore up the safety position but I'm not as worried about the defense as I am the offensive line.

The Bears are at a crossroads on offense right now and I just don't see how they get through it. First and foremost, their offensive line needs to be revamped. Kreutz is the only safe guy IMO. Fred Miller should definitely be gone. That leaves Garza, Tait, and Brown. They need to get rid of 2 of those 3 guys. I have no idea where they're going to pull 3 offensive linemen out of their ass but it needs to happen.

Next you've got Cedric Benson. I think he's been getting a bum deal all year because even Peterson averaged 3 yards per carry behind this line. I really think Benson can play with the right blocking and calling. Whoever thinks that he can hit the corner is a total buffoon. Peterson reminds me a lot of Thomas Jones and I think he can fill that role in the offense. He can hit that outside run and he can catch the ball like Jones did. I'd like to see them go back to a 2-back system with Peterson and Benson. The problem is Benson can't stay healthy in the pros. He never got hurt in college but he's been hurt in each of his 3 pro seasons. That's not a good sign.

The Wide Reciever position is not that great either. You've got an aging leader in Moose, a guy who you need to cut bait with already in Bradley, a project in Hester, a guy who totally disappeared in Davis, and a wide receiver who is going to command big-time money but isn't quite deserving of big-time money yet. That's a total disaster but with a decent offensive line and a tag on Berrian they can get by with this core.

And finally you've got the quarterback position. What a bad time to have Grossman's contract expire. He's going to want a big-money, 5-year contract and I just don't see the need to sink that kind of money into Grossman. IMO Grossman is nothing more than a good backup quarterback. He can play in a pinch and sail the ship but he's not a starting quarterback. The problem is Griese is that same guy. If you can get Grossman for cheap and get rid of Griese I'd say go ahead but I have no idea who the starter will be. What quarterbacks are hitting free agency this year? I know there's been talk about getting McNabb but he can't stay healthy so they need to stay far away from him. Are we going to see what we have in Kyle Orton by season's end? I'd sure like to see if we're potentially sitting on a Tony Romo with him or not.

I don't know, this offense seems totally f***ed but I still believe that the key to fixing it for next year lies in shoring up the offensive line. Strong lines on either side of the ball can mask weaknesses.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

Scoring is part of playing qb. Grosmann had a very good first half but the second half was brutal. How many times did he over throw open recievers deep? I saw 3 times that I remember. 3 points the entire half and that was driving 20 yds after a fumble.

16 points when you lead the turnover battle 4-0 is a joke. Between the droped passes, overthrows, bad play calls and the I have no pocket presence sacks it was ugly.

Those sacks are ridiculous. Is he too chicken s*** to step up in the pocket? That dropping back back back and losing an extra 10 yards is just plain stupid. I understand getting sacked I dont get the giving up the extra yds. I mean where the f*** is the moron going? Does he think hes Elway?

Having done my Rex bashing...You guys are right and I will say I was wrong...You have to keep Grossmann and pray he magically turns into an NFL qb cause who you gona get?

It would be cool to see what Orton can do but waiting til you are mathematically out in this NFC could take the rest of the season.

BTW The Rams are red hot..3 outta 4
