Said it before, but I have a launch console - no issues! I have 6 friends I play with regularly - only one has replaced his 360 (he tried turning it vertical while on & with a game in it - not smart).

Anyway, not everyone has issues. believe it or not.

Not.

But even if true...you are the minority. You simply have to be...since every single one of my friends that has one has had to replace theirs multiple times.

It must be really good for people to put up with so much. The noise alone would have annoyed me.

Its not it thats pretty good....its that the games and the Xbox Live that are a million years ahead of the PS3 that keep people coming back...

There lies the irony....Sony who won the last round with games and not the hardware has totally forgotten...

as for the noise...I never had noise...thank God.

Well, think about it. If there are approx 9 million 360's sold and nearly EVERYONE has had to return a 360, that would be, um say, 8 million returned 360's???? Seriously.

And if everyone had to return MULTIPLE 360's, the returned would out number the sold. Ain't happening.

The minority would be 49.9% (or 449,999 of 9,000,000). And I'd say there is a better than coin-flips chance they are a lot closer to my odds than yours.

Your math is off because that would put it close to 5,000,000 failed. :?

greggsand, i would say you are in the minority.

I have had SEVEN (think about it for a moment...SEVEN), not one single RROD but my dvd drives are failing and I am not the only one, so add to that all those with RROD and things are out of control.

The bottom line is I only know one guy with no problems and he just got his in November (give it time LOL)

I also know of a few on my friends list with no problems but they too have not had for more than a year. Just consider yourself lucky bro!

I've only had mine since January, so I'm not really countable for the poll.....

I'm just hoping since it's one of the new designs (from November I believe) that all the problems will be gone.

Has anyone with a brand new system with the latest build had problems?

I'm also not cramming the thing in a TV shelf, and it's out in the open, so that should help the cooling.... (but leaves the noisy fan out in the open)

Question have all 7 of those come from the repair center? I think that is the major issue is they keep recycling those bad units, I mean sooner or later they will fall out of warranty and then get dumped.

Yep, I'm with you.. although a ps3 might be my next gaming choice if/when my 360 gets a RROD.

I sold my first 360, bought a PSP, then a few weeks later, bought my 2nd 360. It's been fine, but the one I sold a co-worker finally RRODed about 2 weeks ago. He just received his replacement.

Not all of them but most yes, I believe 5 of them were refurbs maybe 4. The one that I scored for free had like a September 07 manufacture date and I got it in the end of September. But 2 of them that failed were brand new consoles that I purchased from the store.

Ours just crapped out Tuesday night. Purchased last June.

Took it back to Costco. They did not have any there so they credited us the full amount on our Costco card.

Will probably go to Circuit City or Toys R Us for a new one. Anything in particular I should look for? Are the Elite's any different other than the storage size?

When you sent it back to Costco, did you have your original receipt? Or did they just check your costco card that you bought it there?

I see at Gamestop refurbed Xbox Elites are going for $270. Not bad if you could have them throw in a 2-3 year warranty.

I agree. I still have my original PS2 running like a champ.

Actually, the 360 is my sons. His choice.

My understanding was that they were or have gotten out of the extended warranty business with 360's....
