Yeah, we can switch it up this time... You can be the Dawgs and I can see how good their D is from the other side. Or we can try to mix it up. I still have not tried an option team yet in 07.

Mixing it up would be cool. I haven't been an option team yet either.

What did you guys end up doing for sliders? I keep bouncing back and forth between an AA set, default Heisman, and a Heisman set...

What's the consensus on the PSP version?

I was about to pick this one up on the PSP at lunchbreak when I remembered guys talking about a nasty bug in it?

I went ahead and bought Race Driver 2006 instead.

Default AA for me. I stay far away from all the public slider debate ect. If I get too good, eventualy I will tweak myself. However, I do not find anything fun about constantly tweaking sliders.

Are you kidding me?

Is this in all levels of difficulty?

No way around it?

I agree. After all a while you end up spending more time obsessing over things like "I had 3 interceptions but only 3.1 ypc, , I must adjust the sliders!!" instead of just enjoying the game for what it is.

I was kind of looking around for some sets, but the game plays well for me on AA default. Thought about adjusting the AI running, but then the Iowa RB put up a good game.

The game reminds me of NFL 2K in the sense that it's a fresh game engine has some shortcomings (collision detection), but the things it does right make it difficult to go back to older or current gen versions.

I'm getting frustrated with the sliders on AA because I can't seem to get a good CPU rushing game going. The problem with turning down the tackling is that the short passes then can too often turn into huge gains. I also still get at least one interception every single game I've played and more often than not it is 3 or more. These are with random teams. Last night I intercepted the CPU three times in the first half with the interception slider at zero and awareness at 40.

I still think the game is great, but I'm a little annoyed that a few things are too automatic. My CPU teammates will knockdown passes and even intercept passes without me controlling them. I've blocked at least 4 kicks without touching a button. If you have an impact running back then a lot of the moves like spins and hurdles can be performed without even touching a button. And if you have momentum on your side it's hard not to get 3-6 yards on dive plays. I do still miss some of the gameplay of the 2K series at times.

The only issue I have with the game thus far is the severe lack of gang tackles. I shouldn't be able to run at a group of 5 or 6 guys on a kickoff and run right through them because I broke the one tackle animation...the rest of the guys just bounce off or run right by.

Shouldn't. I am not expert, but I don't think LCD nor DLP have burn in problems.

I play on AA. I upped the CPU QBA and Catching. I upped CPU run blocking and RB Ability just a little bit. I upped CPU defensive awareness.

For human sliders I lowered def. Awareness a bit. Put knockdowns at 40, and INT's at 0.

Bear in mind I was Stanford, but I had 11 int's total in the season. I also didn't adjust the sliders till week 3. So I think my numbers would have been lower.

Statistically the game is not perfect. However, for me at least, it's in the realm of reality, it's still provides me a challenge, and most of all, I am having a blast playing it.

One thing I am noticing on the 360 version also, at least for me, Recruiting is a much bigger challenge. No more landing 20 5 star players at will.

This sounds like a question for Jon Diehl.

I use sliders for AA that I found on OS by someone named TarHeel. With some modifications, they work for me. I am not big on turning tackling to zero like some folks do - it just makes the game frustrating to me when I keep missing tackles. I am thinking of trying a dynasty with a poor team, but I just don't think I have the patience to try and build them up over the years by recruiting.

I don't spend a lot of time on sliders, I find some I like and the modify after I detect a pattern. Default AA plays to easy for me and default Heisman too hard against cupcakes, so I try to find a medium ground.

I am really looking forward to Madden. it sounds like it plays like NCAA on the 360 but more refined and much more of an NFL game. The new attributes evidently help a lot - for example Warrick Dunn doesn't have animations for truck stick moves because he is not going to bowl anyone over. On the other hand, fullbacks won't be doing a lot of jukes. It sounds like it finally matters who you have on your team between the passing cone and the running attributes.

Anyone know if there is anything to those posts over at OS where folks claim that NCAA can actually break the 360 hardware? Something about screwing the I/O for the HD. Seems far-fetched, but plausible. I would expect more outrage if this were widespread. I'm thinking of finally taking the 360 plunge primarily for NCAA

The PSP issue is just a disgrace. I really want to pick it up but don't want to have to sit and wait for EA to figure out how it will handle replacements. I just hope they decide much more quickly than with the Madden debacle. This is even worse as it affects all game modes - at least that one was limited to franchise.

And from my limited knowledge, plasmas still have a pretty significant burn-in problem unless they have a "wipe" mode. LCDs shouldn't have the same problem.

Is anyone else finding that it takes forever to get the stats e-mailed? I've had some come as late as 48 hours after the game ended. Not ideal for the league, for instance.

Don't even get me started on that! Best setup ever!!

Abner's NFL league was freaking awesome. I just happened upon an old bookmark and was surprised to see that the league page was still up there...

This sounds like a question for Jon Diehl.
All phosphor based display systems (CRT direct and rear view, as well as plasma) are susceptible to image retention, aka "burn in".

However, plasma technology has improved significantly in the last couple of years and at this point (with the higher end sets) it's almost as hard to burn them in as it would be a direct view/tube CRT (which is difficult, I've rarely seen that happen). Rear projection CRT is really the only technology that you'd need to worry about burn in with, as it can happen very easily there. With Plasma and tube CRT's, you'd have to be a complete dimwit to burn them in with today's technology (ie. the 360 will dim itself if you leave the game on pause for too long. Good DVD players do this too).

To answer your question though, DLP's and LCD's do not have the issue since they do not use phosphor (which wears down over time, and can wear down unevenly which causes the image retention). You could leave a static image on the screen for 2 days straight and it wouldn't cause any harm (other than rack up some hours on the projection bulb).

What sliders are folks using? I played ND as Michigan last night with AA sliders heavy toward the AI and with interceptions at 0 and still had 4 interceptions. No way Brady Quinn throws 4 interceptions at home in a game where the Irish open with a 14-0 lead. Not that I love the Irish, but it felt unrealistic to win the game where i could not stop the pass but took advantage of turnovers. I am seeing this a lot. But if I turn the AI anymore toward the AI, then it will be impossible to stop them. I just want to cut down the number of interceptions that my team is getting. Any thoughts??

Nice job BK... I spent like 10 minutes last night deleting old pics off my 360 HD... not for space but so I would not start getting them mixed up with new ones and so they would be easier to copy.

Everytime I play this game, I see something cool happen or "new." Last night I was playing either Bama or ND on the road... then in the background I saw my Mascot doing the robot... I almost got a delay of game from watching him. Later on he was face up jumping from his feets to his hands quickly... it was pretty funny.

..... Then on a serious game note. With 2:10 left in the first half I had the ball on Notre Dame's 40 or so yard line on 4th and 4. At the time I was down 14-7. In previous versions of the game I would have gone for it. However, I sat there a second last night thinking.. they have the MO, there is no way I could pick this up by pounding it up the middle. Then I will just give them a short field and likely go down at the half 21-7. So instead, I elected to punt knowing I would get the ball back in the second half with momentum almost even since it levels out some at the half.

Anyone else find themselves thinking like this?
