I had a day off today and saw the braves were playing the cubs on tbs.

I feel sorry for you cubs fans, that has to be the sorriest team I have ever seen in my life. How can you lose a game on a sac fly where 2 runs score on 2 errors commited by the same guy. I am sorry but it is laughable. I dont think any team in any video game plays that bad. I dont think there is a glitch I've ever seen that bad.

The Braves didn't win that game...the Cubs lost it. That was embarassing.

T. Glaus at shortstop? It happened on friday as the Jays middle infield has fallen into a state of flux since R. Adams was shipped to triple A- Syracuse. GM J.P. Ricciardi has signed veteran Edgardo Alfonzo to a minor-league contract, and a deal with the Angels for Adam Kennedy seemed to cool off. Regardless, the move payed off as the Jays beat the Chisox 8-2.

He played some SS earlier in his career with the Angels. They used him there for a handful of games a few seasons in a row.

Apparently not since 2002, and a total of 15 innings at the position during his major-league career. He's back at third today.

Correct, it's been a while since he's had to play there, the point was that he's done it before on quite a few occassions.

Not to split hairs, but he's actually played 22 innings at the position (in 11 games):

The Cubs are fun to watch. Rally all the way back against sh*tty ass Reitsma...and then go and take a pop fly in the infield off the dome...and lose promptly in 11 innings. Well done. Thanks for the three game sweep. Oh yeah, and giving up 8 homers is pretty good too.

And by the way...how is Oscar Villareal 7-0 as a reliever. Talk about getting lucky.

Reitsma has no business being a closer. He sucked at it before this year but for some reason Bobby wanted to give him a shot at the role. I would like to know how many wins for Smolts he has blown over the past few years. Yeah, Smoltz did not deserve a W today but he also did not deserve a no decision the countless times Reitsma threw away a lead either.

Over the past 14 years or so I think the braves have had 2-3 good closers.

Pena was good for a year I belive, but that was along time ago and my memory could bet tainted.

John Rocker was the other, and the third would be Smoltz.

Wholers was really good for a few years...till the 98 home run by Leyritz in the World Series...then he went to sh*t. Ligtenberg was pretty good as well till he got hurt...ever since, he has been a journeyman. The Braves would have been smart to keep one of their younger power arms, and develop him for the closer role. Guys like Capellan who went to Milwaukee in the Kolb trade would have been my first pick.

Ken Ray seems like he's taken to the role fairly well...I don't know that they shouldn't just stick him in there for a few more tries and see how it works out. Can't be any worse than throwing Reitsma out there again.

I forgot about Kerry. I actualy liked him..

I did recall Mark Wohlers but his control problems stand out mostly in my mind.

Great game between the Bosox and Jays. With the score 6-0 and Halladay pitching I thought the Soxs were done but you can never undermine a team that has Ortiz, Ramirez and Varitek. Sure enough they came back to tie it before Hillendbrandt scores the winning run. B.J. Ryan did the closing. 7-6.

It's a tight race between these two teams and the Yankees.

Ryan Howard is on fire, guys. He's now tied for second in homers and is in sole second in RBIs, batting .304 all the while.

Dude's a beast.

Did anyone watch the catch A. Boone tried to make on a foul ball only to land on his head? Ouch! He's got a concussion and J. Thome took it to his old team 11-0.

Yeah, I was there. I don't know what was more painful to watch, Boone's nosedive or Thome lighting us up. :(

More good news for the Tribe... Cops find Scott Sauerbeck hiding in the bushes with a female companion, her blood alcohol level .253.

.253? That's almost dead, isn't it?

"Sauerbeck signed with the Indians in March 2004.

He has a wife and two children in West Bradenton, Fla."

Ouch. It's always a bad idea to be with a woman that isn't your wife at 3:45 AM, but it's even worse when you're riding/driving around drunk in a '66 Lincoln at 3:45 with a woman that isn't your wife.

Ryan shut them down again tonight...I'm so excited about the Jays this year, I can't even tell you.

Our offense is just a monster. Tonight- Vernon with 3 dingers, Glaus with 2. And when they get cold, Shea, Alex and Overbay seem to step up.

Can't wait to get Burnett back.

And it was nice to see Chacin back from the DL with a win. This version of the Jays remind me of the early 90's.

Did anybody watch the Tribe/White Sox game on ESPN last night? When Peralta hit that homer in the bottom of the third, the camera followed the ball into the crowd, everybody stood up, including this cute blonde chick in a blue top in the second or third row, her boyfriend got up to go for the ball, but as he passed her he grabbed her t*t!

She jokingly slapped his hand away. It was clear as day in the replay, which they showed a bunch of times since it was one of the highlights of the game. It was funny.

If anybody Tivo'd it, check it out. It was probably on Baseball Tonight/Sportscenter too.

I know, I'm a perv, but what can I say? It's been a long season. :)

The Rangers trade Phil Nevin to the Cubbies for Hairston Jr. Looks like their getting rid of the last bad contract still on the books.

Clemens makes it official and is back with the Astros. Is anyone surprised? Good for Roger and all the money he is taking from them. Like anyone really expected that he was serious about the NYY, Bosox, or Rangers. It was totally a play by him and his agents to keep that price real high. Well, it worked.
